Luckily for Eric, the supply of alcholic beverages seemed near limitless in the Heroica Hall. It had helped him sit through the long theological the other heroes seemed to be having. Eric had been utterly annoyed by monk Pretzel's ridiculous statements, but the Nord had decided to stay out of it and not react. After all, the monk can't help it that he has mental shortcomings. Sometime during his long life the man must've suffered injuries that have induced severe brain damage.

I take my seat at Eric's table again.

"You know you have been called out on the latest quest. I would advise you hurry now before they think of replacing you."

Eric finished his drink and got up. He sure as hell wouldn't spend any more time with Pretzel. "Of course I know I got picked. You honestly didn't expect to stand a chance on getting chosen for that quest, did you?" the tall Raider mockingly said as he left the table. "I would've loved talking some more with you, but alas I do have a quest to complete." Even the most socially illiterate person would've caught the sarcasm in Eric's last statement. With that, he left to Hall to do some last-minute shoppi,g.

Continued from Post 5610...

His meditation in the park complete, En Sabah Nur stood up. The man was gaunt in appearance with his emaciated cheeks sunken in. The barbarian muscle he'd worked so hard to develop no longer bulged from underneath his dark skin. Nur's beard had grown even longer and the hair from his head now covered his eyes.

The mage lost his balance as his legs temporarily buckled under the weight of his heavy armor. He leaned hard on his walking staff until he could steady himself.

Nur sluggishly made his way to a fountain and mused over his appearance. He shifted a stream of water to mix with a patch of dirt to create a paste. He applied it to his head then used his dagger to slowly remove the shaggy mane. Bald once more, Nur rinsed his blade then dried it with his cloak. He grabbed his beard at the base of his chin with his rock arm. He gave it a long single stroke all the way to his hip and sighed. He separated his beard in two then took some hair from each segment and crudely wrapped the hair in bundles.

Nur reached into his pack and felt for his scrolls. "Now I could have sworn there were two in there..." He unfurled the luck scroll. "Odd, I remember there being quite a few stains on here. This scroll looks freshly created!"

En Sabah Nur stowed his gear and continued his original trek to the marketplace by way of the hovels. He doubted it, but he had to see if his target was still there.

Surprisingly, he was.

"Hail, great naga. I've been meaning to pass this on to you." En Sabah Nur hands Sarick a Lucky Die. "I have come to realize it brings great luck but must be passed on to another before..." Nur slowly raises his rock encased arm. He turns it so the naga can view it from all angles. "...or death."

Sarick shook his head. He awoke from some sort of daze.

"Well met. It feels like a very long time." Sarick took the Lucky Die from En Sabah Nur and handed over 40 gold and his Topaz Gem. "That should hopefully cover the cost of this die." He thought about it for a few seconds more.

"Do you know of a hero named Guts? Last I remember, he was interested in this shard that I have. I have no use for it. If you see him, deliver it to him." Sarick handed over a Mythril Shard and 10 gold as a delivery fee.

Sarick looked at the luckey die in his hand. Maybe it would help him figure out where he was and where he had been for so long. Sarick slithered off toward the docks...

After her trip to the temple Nessa hadn't got any answers by the gods. They were of no help but at least she had found some peace - at least for now. She gave no attention to her surrounding and searched for a dark place to hang back in her thoughts inside the hall.

William sits in by a wall in the Hall, his face dark as he recollected his thoughts of his time in the Imperium. His hand wrapped around a bottle of apple cidar as he drank to his old comrade's memories. *glug glug glug*

I notice two new freaks enter the hall and roll my eyes. "This hall really has become a terrible place for all kinds of scum!"

"Including you and me. Monk." William says, "We are all equal under the eyes of God."

That's what he thinks!

Seeing a new quest up about fighting a dragon I ponder whether or not to sign up for it.

Experienced? That I am. Fighting dragons? Not so much. What are these Rito beings anyway. I suppose it couldn't hurt to find out. I've had to deal with less pleasant things than curing dragons in my time.

I glance over at the undead in the hall.

I sign up for Quest #59.

Siercon awakes at the table in the corner. How long had he been sleeping? 'I wonder if anyone even noticed I was here?'

He stood up and hesitated, almost noting that the dream he's been having was as if it was real. It was vague and foggy, but he remembered something about battling the great Bartholomew de Dobbelaer... regardless he was here now, and anxious to continue gaining strength.

Siercon signs up for quest 57, and for the heck of it 59, not that he's 'experienced' but he'd rather be brought close to death on the field of battle than to undergo the nightmare he'd just been having.

With his meditation and contemplation completed over at the Temple of Ennoc, Maurice Ratibor the Paladin returned to the Heroica Hall. He felt ready for new adventures and the quest note that mentioned a dragon threat in the distant land of Dastan got his attention. The tales of the mystical Dastan had always intrigued him and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to experience it by himself. He didn't knew much about those "Rito"-people but their likeness to angels were enough to catch his interest.

Boomingham downs another drink, but feels his mind starting to clear. He glances around tiredly. The Hall has grown loud, and without Eric, Nerwen and Guts, he has no real company. Most of those he knows and loves are still missing in action or out on adventures.

"I guess I ought to go check on Sevrus," he says quietly to Barty.

"I was beginning to fear you'd forgotten about him. I can't imagine your new god would be happy if you forgot to defend the weak you had bought."

"Yeah, yeah. Listen, you stay put. Come zip my way if my name goes up for any of these quests, got it? After I'm done with Sevrus I'm going to catch some sleep in a real bed, if I can find somewhere that wouldn't mind putting me up, then I'm stocking up, and then hopefully we'll be shipping out, though I pray not by ship- I've had more than enough of those."

Boomingham walks haggardly out of the Hall and into the bustling city. Barty zips up to the high rafters so as not to be bothered by anyone, preferring to judge from afar.

Mizuki wakes up from napping on the table. She sees that Guts and Nerwen have left so she walks around the hall looking for something to eat. She walks up to the questboard and sees 2 quests. One quest immediatly catches her eye by stating that the party will have to do something with dragons. Mizuki signs up for Quest 59 before walking to the the bar and ordering a pot of tea and a slice of strawberry shortcake

I break bread at the table somewhat mad at the latest turn of events.

This will be another situation like my last where I'll be left in the hall for an age to come. These days everyone wants "Advanced Class" heroes or whatever. What is so special about them? Just that they are favoured a little more by the "Copper Fox!" Bah humbug!

I tuck into the bread without tasting a thing.

What's funny is that only two of the chosen heroes was an advanced class

"How fair the knights of Ennoc?" I ask the Paladin who just signed up for the latest quest.

"Times are hard on everyone in Eubric these days, but the Order stands firm and will ride out the storm like it has always done."
