Surely he was right. "The dead hold the answers for the living", Nessa muttered. "They seem to me as a guidance. But I am not sure were it leads. There are in fact to opposite directions they want to push me to. At least I have this feeling. It is hard to recognize the right way - whatever that means." Something came into Nessa's mind. "We have by now talked a lot, but I still don't know your name... despite who you are", she added slightly.

"My humblest apologies, I didn't even think to introduce myself. My name is Jeaux Elmfyre, but please feel free to call me Jeaux. You mentioned that you were pretty sure one of the voices you heard was your mother. If I were you, I would try to focus on that voice as I believe it is the most likely to lead you in the right direction. Though it would still be wise to exercise caution. If these are voices from those who have passed on from existence then you are dealing with strong magic, and in those circumstances, one should always tread lightly. Magic can be a tool for both great deeds and terrible ones and it can often be difficult to discern which you are dealing with."

"Very. Don't you feel as if your head was hurting?" Heckz turned away from Karie and went to the questboard, AGAIN. "You know what, I might sign into this quest" Heckz signs up for Quest #62

"Yeah, a little bit. Not as bad as it has before though!" She smiled. If anything hurt, it was the scar left by the Harvester, concealed under her clothes.

"So, what did you do for a living before opportunity knocked?" Perhaps this mage was worth giving a chance.

"Me?" Heckz thought for a while. He wasn't going to talk much about his past. Even if he had lied about the past, this rogue didn't seem as if she was going to be tricked. "I made magical shows." Heckz said with an extremely calm voice." "What about you?"

"Magic shows, eh? Interesting. I had a gig once. One of the star performers too. People fought over seats just to get closer to me. They paid a pretty penny to watch me in one of my singing routines." She looked at the mage, with a smug grin.

"I knew a man who used to perform magical spells for the public. I can tell right off the bat that a performer doesn't wear black. There's only one exception where that's common place and I don't believe, considering your skin tone, your from there. Also, your clothes do not match those of a street performer, not at all. Rarely does a street performer dress in pointy hat and cloak, but a jesters outfit, with the occasional splotches of makeup." She leaned back in her chair, smiling proudly.

"But I've probably cracked your story open large enough to leave you at that. I won't press you any further, since it seems most people want personal info for personal info, if you catch my drift." She herself had secrets left in her. The difference between herself and Heckz was that Heckz was a horrible liar, and he was dealing with a previous part time street performer.

"That's the point Miss Alderflask, I'm not performing right now. I'd never wear a jesters outfit to a magical show, but I wouldn't wear the outfit I am wearing right now. And if you did see my outfit, you'd be laughing histerically for over 1 hour. You see, if I wear a humourous outfit and did jokes that were related to my magic then it would attract more audience, and more gold . Although I'm not very fond of that damned itchy outfit." Heckz could of course tell Karie's expression of disbelief. What she didn't know was that he was telling half of the truth.

Karie nodded her head.

"Alright, I'll believe you."

She looked at the cluttered plates and bottles resting on the table.

"Well, I'll get my mess moved out of the way, be right back."

She picked up the plates and empty bottles and placed them on the bar, and returned to her chair. She proceed to wipe crumbs off the table with her hands.

"So, do you have any thoughts on the two quests?"

"Thank you, Jeaux, for your words", Nessa said while bowing her head. "You helped me alot. But how comes a ranger like you knowing so much about magic? Only the elder of my clan had such knowledge. So I don't have much experience with it. They hold to themselves in these matters."

"Well I signed up for that ghost spirit psycho mumbo jumbo whatever quest because That title sounds very good, and because I want some gold too. And I only signed up for the Hinckwell quest just in case I don't get admitted to the ghost quest." Heckz asked for 1 wine bottle to the orcish lady at the bar, then he looked at Karie "Do you want something to drink? I doubt it since you had almost a barrel of beer yesterday."

"About a year ago I was attacked and left for dead at the side of a road. A wizard that happened to be passing by managed to save me just before death and nursed me back to health over the next few months. During that time I learned much about magic. While I'll always be grateful to the wizard for saving me, the spell he used came at a great cost. I lost my memories and he lost his mind, or part of it anyway. I asked him about once and he said that he had found the missing piece, but it was no longer within his reach."

Jeaux wondered how the old man was doing. It was hard for him to leave Nirlem like he did since that wizard was the only connection Jeaux had in life, but if the ranger wanted to find any answers to the questions that plagued his past, he wasn't going to find them with a traveling magician.

"So that is part of your story? As I said, I don't have any experience with magic except..." Nessa paused for a second. "You know, it is interesting how this place changes everything in your whole life", she said while pointing to the hall. "I came here because of my own background, not finding what I have searched but finding what I have not searched. I was out on that quest I told you about very soon after my arrival. I was there with to other elves, a pale guy and a crazy but less talking guy... and of course with Stigveladi. This quest thing is not mine, I thought. And by now, I haven't been on another. But there is this uneasiness inside myself. Anyways... On that first quest I encountered for the first time these voices in my head. And they made me suffer. I was closely to losing my mind and by that endanger the success of the quest.

That magician you were talking about. Do you have any contact to him anymore?"

"I'm afraid not. Since he is somewhat of a nomad, it was almost impossible for us to keep in touch after we parted ways. You mention you found something you were not looking for? I know what you were searching for, but you have not yet told me what it is you found."

"Oh, except tough enemies I hadn't had to face before, new and especially more allies I ever had before I furthermore found some sort of destiny. It brought me here. Here I started to reflect certain steps of my life. I learned... learned about anger, pain, suffering... about myself. Long story short I found a new way. Though I don't yet know where it leads me. But I will try your advice and figure out what these voice are trying to tell me. For now I will take them as guidance." 'Yes, little Nessa, take it as a guidance. I will guide you. Just trust me.' For now Nessa did not pay any attention to the voice. She was just enjoying the conversation with Jeaux... someone who seemed to understand here... who cared.

Karie was listening to Jeaux's conversation, intrigued with his past.

"An amnesiac, eh? Heh, man that must suck. Anyone ever call you Sem Mithrarin? Oh great and powerful Sem Mithrarin, we have chosen you as our vessel!" Karie impersonates an old preacher, then chuckles to herself rather girlishly.

"Hey, I don't think I ever said this, but thanks for getting me out of that trance back there, I really appreciate it. You kinda saved me from a fate worse than death."

When Heckz's order finally arrived he turned around and found out Karie was gone. Bloody rogue, made me pay for nothing. Oh well... Heckz tapped the Falana wine bottle and the bottle became frosty, then icy, then in turned into an ice shaped as a bottle and miniature ice dragon popped out of it and Heckz started petting it.

"I hope they lead you down the right path, and if not at least you will know more about their intentions. If you find yourself overcome again, I'm always willing to provide an ear and a shoulder to lean on."

"Um, no" A question mark formed on the automaton's face as he was quite honestly baffled by this question.

"Don't mention it. Of all the atrocities the Apprentice committed that was by far the worst. His cousin mentioned that one should never steal a life, but stealing a life is nothing compared to stealing a will. I hope the Stealer does not employ the same despicable tactics"

Drake looked over at the Questboard as he passed by. Looking to see any interesting quests that had been lately posted on their, he saw one that really caught his eye. In bold, wet letters that had still not dried, he saw it said HEROES REQUIRED: Any heroes can request to join this quest, just sign your name below!

Drake knew this was his chance of glory. He could go on the quest, and see places other than the hall! Quickly, Drake pulled out his trusty pen that he carried everywhere and he wrote his name. Drake knew that he had signed up for Quest #62!

The skittish Hinckwell returned to the Hall to see if any new Heroes had signed up for the Quest. After bumping into a table on his way to the page, he fumbled for his ink-pen and etched the names of the two new applicants onto his notebook.

As Drake saw the man popping in and out of the door, Drake muttered "That guy has problems. I feel sorry for him."

Soon, Drake decided to get a bit of fresh air, so he quickly ran outside for a while. Probably to go see the latest plays/musicals at the theater.
