Guts rolled his eyes as an Ogre attempted to scare a gnome out of his (well chosen) seat. Apparantly there was a grape shortage, and (good) wine was hard to come by, or so Scheherazade had told him. The raider wasn't sure if he believed her, but what could he do? He had gotten a flagon down the street, but it wasn't nearly as good as the Hall's usual. So Guts was sober, and in that state, the days in the hall were long. Guts was waiting on several items for his ship, before he could continue with it, and it'd take days for it to arrive, they said. From his usual corner table (the one with the best view over most of the hall, and the least possibilities to be surrounded, while still having decent escape routes), Guts said over to the gnome: "Stay seated, I've never seen that guy at that table in all my time in the hall. You, Ogre, mess with someone your own size."

Skrall lifted his weary head to look over at the bald man, looking him up and down. Crocodilian armor, nice looking dagger, pockets lined with consumables, and equipment out the wazoo, whoever he was he seemed to be rolling in the dough, probably a rogue.

"I ain't in the mood for arguin', human. I made a request of the gnome and he is free to make his own decision, my size has nothin' to do with it, if you were sittin' there I'd ask ya the same. Besides, I can't say I've ever seen very much of ya around these halls either."

"Hm, it sounded more like a demand to me. There are plenty of chairs and stools, choose another one." Guts hovered his hand over his table, where his equipment laid around, the table was filled with empty bottles, dozens of papers in as many languages, sharpening stones, enough metal and leather armour pieces you'd say you could outfit at least five men, a bundle of several clothes, the raider's bag and bedroll, and several other bits and pieces. "Feel free to take a seat here if you'd like as well, I won't bother you, don't worry." With that, the Raider crossed his hands, and looked at the Ogre with a piercing gaze.

"I just so happened to be partial to that spot. Not many places in the hall can support an ogre leanin' his back against the wall in comfort and that spot with the support beam just happens to be one of 'em."

"Sounds like you are either talking about getting married or about revenge." His mouth formed a thin smile, then he continued: "Try not to get too focussed on one thing, I guess. I've made that mistake many times, and never did it work out well. Take comfort in small things, and try as hard as you can on the rest, that's the best you can do." Guts shrugged, what was he? A priest?

"Gone and done/had 'em both, both turned up empty. When ya get to be my age though, one thing is about all ya can keep track of at a time."

Skrall smiled a little as he called back over to the gnome, "Keep my seat warm".

Pulling out a bench at the man's table he sat himself down, he eyed the wares, "Thinkin' about going into the merchantin' business are ya?"

"Somewhere with better ale probably, and some nicer views, perhaps a waitress wouldn't go amiss." He paused. "But really, I could never leave, this is my home now. After all this time, I don't think they'd have me back. The way I left wasn't exactly... honourable."

I know the feeling. I may return to Duplovia someday, but not before the mess here is fixed up.

"The Hall's furniture is sturdier than it looks, I've seen it survive several barfights, as well as some rampant magic."

I'll say. Cracking the floor is a lot harder that it looks.

"Same here, same here... And no, but the hall doesn't offer any lockers. This table is as good as any to keep my things. It has a tendency to pile up. I do have a place to put them now, now that you remind me. It seems I will have to make a trip to the docks, sooner or later. Care to help me carry?"

"I thought so. Thanks" Surprisingly quickly, Guts sorted and folded everything of import into two bundles, before picking one of them up, the Raider held out his hand, and said: "They call me Guts around here, Guts Holla."

What they don't mention is his penchant for dancing and circling around the enemy while they're poisoned. Still can't believe that took him out.

The raider swings his bundle on his back, and went out the door, heading towards the dock where La Alligeon was docked.

"You probably hear this a lot, but you're not what you'd expect, from an Ogre, Skrall."

Nyx walks stiltedly back into the hall. She keeps her head high and a fixed expression on her face. She walks past the bar, grabbing a mostly-full bottle of brandy on the way and weaves her way round to a musty corner. This area had become like a sanctuary to her. The curtains spoke of faded opulence and the exquisitely embroidered cushions were threadbare from years of use, grubby shades of deep purple and mulberry. Still the smell of dusky incense hung in the air, and the shabby yet still mystical-styled furnishings spoke of the mages of Heroica's past. She crawls into a dark corner, swigs deeply from the bottle and curls up, almost becoming one with the cushions. Her body aches and she takes fleeting comfort thinking of a long soak in rose-scented water in the nearby bath house. Her mind however plays over the recent losses, searing pain inside her. One most of all. Out of sight of anyone she whimpers slightly as tears start to fall.

He said he'd stay with me.

"They aren't? I don't rely on brute strength to defeat my enemies, I'm too old for that. Rather I strike quickly, and often, and with precision. Much like a dancer, hence the shoes. And it is as you've heard me say against Rone, why strike, if you can evade and still win? We are here."

They had walked quickly, and had arrived at the docks, where El Alligaléon was anchored. Several places revealed that it been prepared for a new paint job, and the name was almost unreadable from the many sanding Guts had done over the last few days.

Grimwald was confused. One minute a big burly ogre was trying to get his seat back, the next a bald human almost started a fight on his behalf, and then the two walked off together as if they'd known each other for years. It all happened a bit fast for Grimwald to grasp what exactly had just transpired.

The old gnome simply shrugged, slumped back in his chair and fell asleep, snoring lightly.

Skrall let out a low whistle, "Ain't she a beauty. Can't say I have much of an eye for ships though, only been on 2 my entire life. So this you're part time job outside of heroing?"

Hoke enters the hall from his room. His body is wracked with a mild soreness from the tense quest, but a little walking and some sword drills would work it all out. He let his eyes adjust to the slightly brighter main hall and view all of the familiar and new faces. Pockets of conversation, laughter and dealings dominated the hall, but a lone figure in a shady corner caught Hoke's eye. The gloominess seemed to comfort the crestfallen expression on Lady Nyx's face. Hoke thought to go to her to cheer her up a bit, but the way she clutched the bottle after the last gulp she took suggested that company was the last thing she desired.

"Perhaps we all just need a little time," Hoke said to himself.

He check to see if any messages had arrived for him while he was away, but none had come. With that, he left for the Marketplace to purchase some new clothing to replace the threadbare set he now sported.

While walking out of the hall, he began to hum a tune to himself. He couldn't decide if it was a happy tune or a sad tune.

Nur mills about the Hall until the pull of his spell brings him to the right gentleman. "Ah, yes Dyric, friend of Skrall. Forgive me, if my penmanship wasn't so sloppy I'd have been here sooner. Are ye still interested in trading a Mythril Shard for 600 gold?"
