Pandora Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 In the corner the cushions stir. An empty brandy bottle clanks loudly onto the floor before rolling to rest against an intricately carved table leg. Somewhere underneath the haberdashery emerges Nyx, bleary eyed and clutching her head. She pushes away the various soft furnishings irritably before swaying to her feet. She has the presence of mind to pull out a small hand mirror to check her appearance and fix her hair, but her head is thumping. Her eyes close and she takes a few deep breaths, shaking her head and instantly regretting it. Very carefully, she walks into the main body of the hall, slightly fearful her head will roll off her shoulders at any point, and as she does so she spots a new notice. A few moments of blinking bring the text into focus, and she shrugs and signs her name for Quest 63. Nothing would make her feel better than a little death and destruction, preferably of people who deserved it. In stopping by the bar for the largest glass of water she can find, she sees Atramor, clearly in not much of a better mood than she. "Hey," and that one opening word covered so much, essentially acknowledging she was pretty sure she knew exactly how he was feeling right now "I'm considering selling my Explosive Staff, and you always seemed to like it. I'm offering it to you first, and if you make me a reasonable offer I will seriously consider it. Just.. let me know." and with a weak smile and a nod she tentatively walks closer to a chair by the fire to warm herself up a little. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 "Remember? Never knew she wasn't in the first place. Ok then, who did get dat ship then?" Guts smirked, this man was not the sharpest tool in the shed. "Tell me, what kind of armour am I wearing?" Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) Sarge takes a moment from his conversation with guts "Wait a mo'. " to offer his ice pack to someone who looks like she has an even bigger hangover: Nyx he removes the pack from his head, welcoming a rush of pain, steadies himself, and holds out the ice pack towards Nyx in an offer. " M'lady. Ya' look more in need of this than me." He goes back to guts. " Completely irrelevant question, so I'm going to guess it was you. I'm no Sherlock Holmes but I'm right aren't I?" Ooc: Sarge can't distinguish metamesian ale from beer, how do you think he is with armour? Edited April 3, 2013 by Skyrimguy Quote
Pandora Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Nyx stares. Her eyes move from an ice pack to some scruffy peg-leg and back again incredulously. An ice pack? Really? She opens her mouth to say something, but even thinking the thoughts, let alone saying the words seem too much effort. The most she can manage is a vague "no, thank you" hand wave as she shivers and moves closer to the fire. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) The raider nods his head mockingly. ""Not so irrelevant, you knew the ship belonged to 'Crocs', my armour is clearly made from crocodile skin. It is not very common here, so you could have figured it out by that." Guts shook his head, Heroica took all kinds of people. and who was this Sherlock Holmes? He got up. "Excuse me, I have some business to attend to." With that, he got up and took a stool at the bar, and ordered wine. In a glass. This time he got it. Edited April 3, 2013 by Scubacarrot Quote

I thought that was dragon scale mail but this ain't dastan is it? Or am I more hungover than I think I am. Anyway, onto the ship, what you planning to do with it. Unlike you, I am not here to become rich. It is my ship, and I will use it however I see fit. And that's the end of it." Edited April 3, 2013 by Scubacarrot Quote
Scorpiox Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Sarge looks to the quest board for the newest escapade, but returns to the table in disappointment when he see's he isn't qualified. "Or get a Mage to cool it down with an opal, as long as he doesn't freeze me' 'ead off first!" Sarge looks closely at haldor for a second, deep in thought. " You're a nord right? Cold place, your homeland. Never bin there though. Home eh? I had a home once. Well, a ship, and it wasn't honestly mine, but it was home. None o' them ships here in Eubric have bin recruiting crew recently though, so no chance there. Not since them crocs got killed. 'Parently the Bonapartes gave it to heroica. Wonder if that lucky fella is recruiting?" "Aye, that I am, and yes, you could describe it as 'cold'. You've never been there? Don't blame you, there isn't much for an outsider to see. The people are far from welcoming, and any sights you might be interested in are the great battle site and forgotten temple type thing. To be honest, it isn't much of a place to go, unless you fancy being brutalised by bandits in the woods. But still, it was home, and there are few places on this fine earth that can raise a boy to be as hardy as those from Vartland. I didn't fit in much with that." Haldor turned away for a moment to wave at a friend. "Morning, Ellaria, ain't seen you in a while. How are you?" Quote
CMP Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Atramor watches as an obviously hungover Nyx walk groggily into the hall, and right up to the bar, offering a shot to purchase her Explosive Staff. It didn't take more than a moment for him to guess why. He merely nodded in response, with a frown, as she slunk off towards the fire. He probably would've sprung on the opportunity a few days earlier. Now the thought of a weapon that always carried along the chance to do more harm than good....he grumbled to himself and took another deep swig of rum. Seemed like everyone had decided to drag along memories from their most recent quest, few good, and it wasn't as easy to simply not care as it used to be. Quote

Flipz Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I think long and hard for an answer. Brother, I should not have to tell you that you have had many allegiances. Before Dastan, you spoke to me of how strange the idea of Chaos was to you, and how you were pleased the priests of Zoot in your land forsook their old ways. You were enthusiastic, charismatic, excited about the world around you. Dastan changed many, and I find myself grateful to not have been there, though I would have been honored to fight by your side there, Brother. You can back a much different man, and eventually fell into the ways of Chaos. But Chaos betrayed you, like you believed order had. You stand here now, a confused and broken man. But Arthur, as you left for Dastan, we spoke much of Chaos and heroism. And you said this... Brother, I believe those words continue to hold true for you, even when nothing else does. These words continue to resonate through you. You felt betrayal when Haldor and Atramor abandoned you after you sided with Wren - I say this not to fault them but to merely state a fact. I know you, brother, and I know you would likely fight and die for the sake of Alexis, Skrall or myself. And I feel you would do so for any strong friend of yours. That is what you stand for, Brother. That is where you rise. Arthur slowly nodded at Dyric's words. Something still ticked away within him, but the Assassin's words rang close to the truth. "Aye. You're right. I fight for my friends. There's little I wouldn't do for them." It wasn't a cause, nor a mission...but perhaps it didn't have to be. Arthur saw a new Quest on the board...for the Guild of Invision. "I don't suppose anything could be too bad after Wren," he muttered. He reached for a pen--there was little else to do in the Hall these days--but something held him back. Something inside of him protested when he went to put ink to page, and it was that voice he listened to. Seeing the old drunkard bothering a Raider at the bar, Arthur returned to his table with Dyric, quietly enjoying the company of a friend. He looked to Alexis and sent her a smile as well. Dyric's right. This is what I'm fighting for. I don't need anything else. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Hoke joined the slumped Lady Nyx by the fire. He didn't say a thing, just gave her a small smile and poked around at the embers. He watched the various conversations around the Hall, but did not have anything to add to them. Just sitting by the fire for now was fine for him. Quote
The Legonater Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I sigh, and sign up for Quest 63. I need to be out fighting something. Maybe then I can finally get some sleep. I turn to Arthur. You should you don't want to sign up? I'd be honored to fight by your side again, brother. Quote

I really would enjoy the opportunity to fight alongside you again, though." Quote

Scorpiox Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 As Ellaria decides she has better things to do than converse with old friends, Haldor jumps up and walks off in search of someone to talk to. Nearing the door, the nord notices Atramor slumped over the bar, and goes over to investigate. The shaman prods the witch's form lightly with the butt of his axe. "Dead...or drunk?" Quote
CMP Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Atramor looked up from the counter at once, gaze rather unfocused, but still a ways away from drunk. He shook his head. "Mate, I'm almost insulted ya' think I could get bombed that easily." Quote
Scorpiox Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 "Well, whatever you say, friend. That's a relief. There have been times, I still remember that drinking contest with Althior, although that was more like several nights of drinking. Never a more destructive event I have seen." Haldor pulled up a stool. "Seeing as you're still so sober, how about getting me something to drink?" Quote
Sandy Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 "Glad you are back with us Ellaria. We really could have used a druid on our last quest," Hoke said to the resigned looking Ellaria. Ellaria is startled when Hoke addresses her. "Oh, Hoke! I did not see you there. I saw your name among the sign-ups there... Well, I have been preoccupied with things lately. Sorry I have not been around to help you guys. Let us hope we get on this quest together, for old times sakes. Eh?" "Morning, Ellaria, ain't seen you in a while. How are you?" Sarge listens to haldor, then, when he welcomes Ellaria, sarge turns to her, arm outstretched (to shake her hand), nods in greeting,And says " I'm Sarge M'lady." Seeing familiar faces was almost too much for Ellaria. She felt overwhelmed by the situation, having never been a social butterfly. She greeted Haldor politely but shortly, and shook Sarge's hand out of courteousness. Then she saw Alexis in the crowd, and decided it was about time to settle things with the elven woman. "Hey, Alexis! It has been a long while, hasn't it? Listen, I need to correct the misunderstanding you have had about me and Atramor. After I lost Elpis, I lost most of my judgment, but I never intended to get in-between you and your man. Atramor offered me a dinner out of friendship, not for any romantic purposes. I have never felt anything beyond friendship towards him either. Can't you see that? I am truly sorry for not thinking straight at that time, but I was just too messed up. Can you hope to forgive me, Lexie?" Ellaria hoped that Alexis would at least speak to her, even if only to shout and scream. Her cold silence felt the worst. Quote
Scorpiox Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Haldor nudged his friend. "Don't think she means you mate, I guess she's just a little confused." The nord couldn't help but interupt a little, Ellaria probably needed someone to say things how they were. "I'm afraid it's too late for that; Lexie's already gone from her sensible chap to move with the kookiest of kooks, who also happens to be a turncoat and a scoundrel. What a shame, eh? Sacrificing a promising partnership so soon, it'd be concerning if I weren't just about to do a similar thing. Apart from the fact that Naj-what's her face-delena isn't a scumbag, to my knowledge anyway." He then swivled back round to face Atramor. "So how about that drink?" Quote
CMP Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Atramor merely gestured to Scheherezade, who slid him yet another bottle of his favorite drink, though this one he handed over to Haldor. "Sure as hell hope not," he replied to the nord with a chuckle, before taking another draught of rum. "Best let them work out their problems, mate. Gettin' involved in that kinda crap usually don't help anyone." Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Skrall wandered back into the Hall, he noted the notice on the Quest board but moved on up the stairs. Ordering a tankard he stood and surveyed the hall. Quote

Arthur, in spite of himself, opens his mouth for a biting comeback, when Skrall enters the Hall. Skrall wandered back into the Hall, he noted the notice on the Quest board but moved on up the stairs. Ordering a tankard he stood and surveyed the hall. "'Scuse me for a moment, would you, Dyric?" Arthur stands up, walks over to Alexis, and wraps his arms around her, giving her a kiss on the back of her head. "Arthur Justus Regulus VII, Sorcerer of Heroica," he says to Ellaria by way of introduction, "and apparently turncoat and scoundrel for refusing to fight something I legitimately believed in at the time, and in spite of risking my life to protect the party from it and turning my blade against it after it betrayed me. But of course, no one in this Hall has ever made that sort of mistake at all. No, I'm the only imperfect Hero on Olegaia." Not sticking around to hear Haldor's inevitable comeback, Arthur gives Alexis a squeeze and then continues up to Skrall. "Skrall." he says by way of greeting. He was not pleased with himself after his outburst, but the Nord had been impugning Alexis' honor. He had had to do something, right? He sighed and spoke to the Hunter in a low voice. "I was telling the truth, you know. I really did believe in Chaos. But you were right, back in the Temple; I had totally deluded myself as to what it really was." Arthur ordered a tankard of ale from the bar and took a sip before continuing. "But that begs the question: if I wasn't serving Chaos...what was I serving? And is there anything worthwhile I can learn from the experience?" Edited April 4, 2013 by Flipz Quote
