Waterbrick Down Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Skrall nodded back before taking another draft of the tankard, "Regulus." "I know ya were, some hurts though go deeper than the emotion as in Haldor's case. Those hurts shake a person's very core of beliefs and that can be hard to let go because it means releasing some of your assumptions on how someone or something should function. If yer to learn anything from your past, make sure ya don't give yer heart and mind so much over to one thing that ya become blind to all else or even the possibility that ya could be wrong." Quote
Scorpiox Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Arthur, in spite of himself, opens his mouth for a biting comeback, when Skrall enters the Hall. "'Scuse me for a moment, would you, Dyric?" Arthur stands up, walks over to Alexis, and wraps his arms around her, giving her a kiss on the back of her head. "Arthur Justus Regulus VII, Sorcerer of Heroica," he says to Ellaria by way of introduction, "and apparently turncoat and scoundrel for refusing to fight something I legitimately believed in at the time, and in spite of risking my life to protect the party from it and turning my blade against it after it betrayed me. But of course, no one in this Hall has ever made that sort of mistake at all. No, I'm the only imperfect Hero on Olegaia." Not sticking around to hear Haldor's inevitable comeback, Arthur gives Alexis a squeeze and then continues up to Skrall. "Skrall." he says by way of greeting. He was not pleased with himself after his outburst, but the Nord had been impugning Alexis' honor. He had had to do something, right? He sighed and spoke to the Hunter in a low voice. "I was telling the truth, you know. I really did believe in Chaos. But you were right, back in the Temple; I had totally deluded myself as to what it really was." Arthur ordered a tankard of ale from the bar and took a sip before continuing. "But that begs the question: if I wasn't serving Chaos...what was I serving? And is there anything worthwhile I can learn from the experience?" Haldor raised an eyebrow, and turned his head to Atramor. "So, who was it who wasted an essence on this cad? I can think of many people we ought to have saved it for." Quote
The Legonater Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Seeing several old friends greet someone who had just entered the hall, I look quizzically at the group and silently move to sit with them. Quote
Chromeknight Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Nerwen returns to the hall after a long absence. Looking around she sees a few faces she knows and others he doesn't. Oddly though, Guts' customary is virtually empty. She shrugs to herself and finds a seat by the windows. Quote
CMP Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 (edited) "...Aye." The conversation had taken a turn for the worse. Most of his recent, heavier drinking stemmed from trying to avoid the subject of the battle in Zoot's Temple. "I'm headin' for the market," he explained briefly and lamely to Haldor, getting to his feet and heading for the stairs. He was just to the archway before an odd glint caught his eye from a table in the corner - he turned his head, gaze settling on a golden, jagged cutlass, hanging from the belt of....someone. His mind was more occupied with the sword. The seasoned pickpocket Atramor preferred daggers, but cutlasses were younger, sea-faring Atramor's weapon of choice, though this particular blade was far more ornate than any he'd used. He found seated right across from it's owner moment's later, struggling the place the armored elf's face, but nonetheless intent on striking a deal for the sword. "Where'd ya' come across that thing?" he asked curiously, waving a hand towards the weapon. "Atramor Gibbin, by the way; it ain't often I see a sword like that come through the hall." Chromeknight Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Nerwen looked at the male human rogue sliding into the seat opposite her. The bandana, the hair, the smirking grin. I remember you Master Gibbon. We defended the palace of Dastan together. My name, if you do not recall, is Nerwen Calmcacil. Nerwen places the heavy sabre on the table between them. The edge of the blade shimmers darkly. It is a shame I cannot use this weapon, it is fine indeed. As for where I came across it, I took it from the hand of Reno Boneparte. You wish to make an offer for it? Quote
CMP Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 (edited) "That's it - thought I knew ya' from somewhere. Apologies, lot goin' on at the time...Bonaparte, ya' say?" he repeated, raising his eyebrows in some disbelief. He knew the oppressors of the Crystalline Sea quite well, but to have killed a member of the family...he couldn't imagine what kind of Quest the elf had been on. "I know what ya' mean. Axes are common where I come from, but I haven't used one in quite a while, right now I doubt I'd be able to so much as wield one...then again, the staves and maces that come along with bein' a witch make up for it." He nodded to her accurate suspicion, digging around in his cloak for a moment before removing a heavy pouch of 200 coins, and, on a thought, a Grating Stone, and sliding them across the table. "Aye, I'd enjoy usin' that sword.... will this do it?" Edited April 5, 2013 by CallMePie Quote
Chromeknight Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Nerwen nodded. Your offer is acceptable. And what have you been doing since Dastan? Quote
CMP Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Atramor carefully lifted Conspirator off the table, getting a feel for the weapon, and examining the blade closely. It seemed to have a somewhat eerie purple gleam when hit by the light. "Went lookin' for some guards, and ended up killin' a heretic of Zoot. And yourself?" Quote
Chromeknight Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Reno had had his own twin brother kidnapped and was posing as Nemo. Even Nemo's wife did not realize and had sent us looking for Reno thinking it was he that was missing. We stopped Reno. Well, Guts and I did. The for-edan Eric did little to help as he wanted to side with Reno thinking that Uland's naval protection would relax some. Had he fought with us that blade would have been his. Nerwen paused, then stood. The raiders I quested with showed me the power of amethyst imbued weapons, I believe Elphaba is in the marketplace, I will see about acquiring such a gem with this gold you have given me. I am sure that I will see you around. That said, Nerwen left for the marketplace. Quote
CMP Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 "Aye, I could see him doing that," added Atramor, remembering the nordic barbarian from his very first Quest. "I certainly hope usin' weapons with Amethysts is worth it. Given my party's performance with 'em on my last Quest, I don't doubt how effective it'll be. See ya'," he finished, still admiring the weapon. Quote
Sandy Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 ~A new quest has been posted on the Quest Board (#64 by The Legonater)!~ Alexis did not get a chance to reply to Ellaria before a young man interrupted them, giving the elf a kiss. Ellaria blinked, struggling to come up with something to say to the couple. "Oh, so you have... Nevermind. I am Ellaria Arbour. I... will not bother you any longer." She turned around with red cheeks, and rushed out of the Hall. She felt out of breath and dizzy. All her old friends felt like strangers to her. What could she do about that? Quote

Masked Builder Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Seeing familiar faces was almost too much for Ellaria. She felt overwhelmed by the situation, having never been a social butterfly. She greeted Haldor politely but shortly, and shook Sarge's hand out of courteousness. Then she saw Alexis in the crowd, and decided it was about time to settle things with the elven woman. "Hey, Alexis! It has been a long while, hasn't it? Listen, I need to correct the misunderstanding you have had about me and Atramor. After I lost Elpis, I lost most of my judgment, but I never intended to get in-between you and your man. Atramor offered me a dinner out of friendship, not for any romantic purposes. I have never felt anything beyond friendship towards him either. Can't you see that? I am truly sorry for not thinking straight at that time, but I was just too messed up. Can you hope to forgive me, Lexie?" Ellaria hoped that Alexis would at least speak to her, even if only to shout and scream. Her cold silence felt the worst. Alexis tries to keep a straight face as Ellaria speaks to her. "I can't say it's necessarily your fault." She sighs as Ellaria hurries from the room, and sits back in her chair. Quote
Flipz Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Arthur nods to Skrall. "Guess I just have to take it one day at a time." Seeing a new Quest on the board, Arthur is dismayed when he reads its contents. "Dyric..." he calls. When the Assassin finally arrives, Arthur nods toward the notice with a look of glum concern. The Legonater Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Although it pleases me to finally see Duplovia and Delfrin come to peace, I fear something dark stirring here. It is good the King is continuing his distaste of Rogues for the moment, I do not think I would be welcome there anyways. Not yet. Besides, Eubric still needs saving, doesn't it, brother? Quote
Scorpiox Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Haldor took a brief look at the questboard on his way past, noticing a new entry. "Duplovia, eh? Sounds nice enough, but not something for me. Come to think of it I've never left the city, well certainly not the island, since coming here... now's not the time to start, not while there's still work to do." The nord turned around and continued out of the door, he needed some fresh air. "Perhaps I might encounter some sane people in the big wide world, now that'd be novel." Quote

Professor Flitwick Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Thothwick walked into the Hall, stepping aside to let a young red-headed human pass him in a flurry. Sitting down across from Hoptet, he unfastened his chestplate, revealing a crisp suit being worn underneath. "Quest success?" "Close. We lost a few, but succeeded." "Sadness. Will you go to, how they say... firing?" "'Cremation', and alas, no, there shan't be one. They were buried, as per human custom." The two exchanged looks of bewilderment. Even after several years away from the Mistlands, culture shocks can still be brought upon. "How Orang Pendek is supposed to get to them is beyond me, but it seemed for best. We were too busy grieving to discuss funeral arrangements." Thothwick motioned to Scheherazade to bring them both their drinks. "But Quest was won? Witch Wren gone?" Thothwick leant back slightly, and sighed a sigh of relief. "Gone." The Orc Matron placed their beverages on the table, grunting in acknowledgement as she did so. "I want you to remember tonight, Hoptet." The two raised their drinks. "Tonight, S.O.Ws message was proved. Witches are a dangerous threat. Tonight, S.O.Ws purpose, was not provide in vain. Witches can be stopped." *chink* Quote
Flipz Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Nodding at Dyric's assessment, Arthur looks curiously towards Thothwick, the Metasimian finally having made his way back to the Hall. No. The enigma. "Why did he bother?" he wonders, accidentally murmuring aloud. "After all he said against Witches, and against Zoot...after all I did...why? Why bother to check for my pulse?" Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 (edited) Sarge, bored with not killing anyone, looked round the hall. He suddenly sees Skrall and falls off of his chair. "O-o-o-ogre!" He stuttered "Y-y-ya friend or foe Big guy?" Edited April 6, 2013 by Skyrimguy Quote
Jebediahs Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 A disheveled man hobbled into the Hall. He was in a stooped position, leaning heavily on a large walking stick to maintain his balance. His lengthy beard was matted with dirt and drying mud yet his odor wasn't offensive. The man's facial features were covered by a portion of his beard that was swept across his head to give the appearance of hair. The old timer lost his footing on his way up to Scheherazade's Saloon but managed to steady himself before falling. As he reached the top of the stairs he let out a big sigh of relief. "Eh, 'at was a clossun, i' twas! Might any of you youngin's spare a mere 70 gold fer a codger down on 'is luck? Some tell me I 'ave no luck at all. I'll gladly repay you Tuesday for a credit bestowed today." He stuck out a hand toward the crowd. With palm up, his hand began to tremble. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Guts patiently waited down the stairs, while the "gentleman" went upstairs. When it was finally done, the Raider quickly passed the man, books in hand. Poor sport, to barge into a place and ask for money, whoever it was. 70 gold, most families could eat for three months with that amount of money. But the Raider did not spend any time on the beggar. He had to learn how to properly work a ship. Quote
Flipz Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Against his better judgement, Arthur passes the old man 70 Gold. "Use it well," he says simply. Quote
