Khorne Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 The heavy doors of the Heroica Hall opened once more, this time it was the Norse Barbarian Eric who came in. With big steps he carved a way through the gathered crowd of Adventurers, pushing aside the occasional bystander who wouldn't let him pass. Eric had left his heavy fur cloak, mail armour and leather belts at the inn, preferring a more comfortable outfit to come drink something. After all, the Quests weren't slated to begin before tommorow. On his back, the greatsword Godricsleif was slung. He would never leave his trusty companion alone. Today was the day the names of those chosen for a Quest would be announced. Eric was eager for adventure and bloodshed, sitting around was nothing for him. He wanted action and his sword craved blood. "Om Gudarna kommer det, kommer jag att väljas*," he thought to himself and ordered a meal. *If the Gods will it, I will be chosen Quote
The_Customizer Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 "Does anyone know when the chosen ones will be announced? An who exactly is in charge of these quests?" Asked Erdathcath, as she finished her meal. And sat down by the fire to keep warm. Quote
Fives Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Trotter finished his meal and his tea. He headed out of the Hall to take a walk before the chosen names were given out. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 "Does anyone know when the chosen ones will be announced? No, but we don't start the Quests until tomorrow anyways, so there's plenty of time for the chosen to be announced. Quote
Darkdragon Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 (edited) Chuckles quietly to herself as the lady ranger plops down onto the chair the chicken had previously been foraging for food. A tuft of air puffs out of the hole and sends a small fluff of cotton into the rangers hair. When the Elf leaves with another ranger for a walk, the cotton remains in her hair. Cinna gestures to try and get her attention but the rangers are already heading out the door. Still with an amused smile on her lips, Cinna turns back to Atramor. "I forgot to ask, does your companion have a name?" Edited August 19, 2011 by darkdragon Quote
Peanuts Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 The large doors were opened slowly, as Henry tried to push them. After spending a night in his Inn for the first time since he had joined Heroica, he felt great and was full of energy (not enough energy to slam the doors open, though). He was excited to find out who was chosen for the quests, he was ready to do whatever would have to be done. To his displeasure, there were two mages in the Hall, some new guy and the young lady he had seen before. "Okay", he said, while waiting. "Does anyone know a good story? Maybe about some dead or missing siblings?" Quote
Zepher Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Lord Boomingham followed inside, smiling grandly at the warmth of the great hall. He waved to Eric and Tesni in greeting, winked at the Orc barmaid, and sauntered over to the quest board. "It seems that Heroica Hell will be filled to the brim today," he said jovially to whoever was standing next to him. "Everyone wants to go questing. Do you know how this works out? Do they come and collect us? I'm not worried about not being chosen, they'd be a fool not to pick the great Lord Boomingham, don't you agree? I need something to wake me up, would you ask the bar maid for a flagon of ale for me?" Quote
CMP Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Atramor nodded slowly. "Yes, but I like knowing that my employers don't know that I know they know..." Atramor rubs his eyes. "Nevermind. Anyway, hope to Quest with ya' at some point." "And her name's McCafferey. Had her for about 6 years now." Quote
SirSven7 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 The door of Heroica Hall creaks open, almost as if someone is trying desperately not to be noticed; peaking around carefully, the Mighty Knight Sir Sven walks nonchalantly into the hall, a stride of someone desperately trying to appear nonchalant and hence making themselves appear less confident than a sheep surrounded by wolves. Ordering a meal and a flagon of buttermilk, Sven takes a set and waits for the evens of the evening to unfold. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 "Okay", he said, while waiting. "Does anyone know a good story? Maybe about some dead or missing siblings?" Can we tell a different story? Because as Cronk says, good friends don't let friends quest drunk. Quote
Fives Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Trotter stops at the Orc trail. The footprints of the Troll are still there from the day before. He looks up towards the mountains and can see smoke rising from where the Orcs and Barbarians have made camp. He turns to Erdathcath and says "Go back to the Hall. I will go and see how many there are. You should be there for when the names are announced." Trotter then turned towards the mountains and began to make his way to the Orc camp. Quote
The_Customizer Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 I don't think we have to worry the Orcs any more, but I'll be back at the Hall waiting for you. Quote
SirSven7 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Can we tell a different story? Because as Cronk says, good friends don't let friends quest drunk. "I know a good story" Sven closes his eyes and starts to recount an old tale told to him when he was very small, he starts of nervious but gets more confidant as he progresses. "There was once a monk at the mission who loved money and power more than he loved God. He would hear the confession of the good folk who attended the mission, and then would blackmail them into giving him gold and silver to keep their darkest secrets. He turned many a wayward sinner's feet towards the fires of hell rather than the gates of heaven, encouraging their crimes in secret while he reviled them in public. It was after he beat one poor old woman to death that the evil monk was imprisoned and sentenced to hang for his crimes. But just after he was cut down from the noose and pronounced dead, his corpse began to transform before the horrified eyes of the people. The face twisted and small tusks sprang from either side of his nose. His shock of white hair grew long and greasy, and two pointed canines emerged from his slit of a mouth. The goblin-monk opened eyes that glowed yellow even in the light of noon-day, and sprang to feet that now ended in claws rather than toes. The people screamed and fled, and no prayer of his former brothers-in-faith could banish the goblin. It disappeared deep into the forest, only to return at night and prey upon the monks of the mission who had been responsible for its death. After five of the brothers had fallen to the goblin, the rest of the monks abandoned the mission and moved to another part of the country. Since that time, the mission-house had slowly fallen into ruin." After the story, Sven smiles softly to himself and returns to his meal. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Cronk finds Knight Sven's story very interesting. Goblin-monk sound like just the sort of evil Cronk like to bash. Cronk want to know if story true or just legend? Quote

Cronk want to know if Knight Sven ever see evil goblin-monk. Thought of bashing evil send chill up Cronk's spine. Quote
Darkdragon Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 (edited) Walks over to introduce herself to the young knight whose tale caught her attention. "Hello sir, I'm Cinna of Hauvington. I was intrigued by your legend, I'm sure the story must have kept many children out of the forest. But what of you, did you brave the forests in spite of the tale?" Starttles as a loud voice talks over hers at nearly thesame moment with the same question even. The voice belongs to Cronk, an Orc knight she has not met but has heard these past few days. "Hello Cronk," she chuckles, "Looks like we are of the same mind about this daring knight. " Edited August 19, 2011 by darkdragon Quote
