Grimwald watched as a large influx of heroes swarmed in and out of the saloon. Not being in his usual friendly, talkative mood, the old gnome decided to just watch them go about their business.

Tesni took the tankard greatefully, something to hold other than a weapon in the tense moment. "So Wren is gone... There was no way to save her?" Shaking her head she drained the drink swiftly in salute to the dead.

"Eventually her madness would have ruined her. What we did was merciful: we put her out of her misery."

"Aye Hoke, 'twas a battle unlike any other I have been in, and I have fought all out war."

"A tale to be written in the tomes of the library for sure! Glad you made it alive!"

Hoke clinked his tankard with Tesni's and gave her a smile and another pat on the back.

Amma scrutinizes the man with a mage's hat and a town watch uniform sceptically.

"Did Byblos tell you that? I wonder what makes him telling you such a low price. You could be right, but you did not consider that this scroll is not sold at the marketplace. So it's not so easy for you to get it. This makes it at least 100 Gold worth. So even 100 Gold will be not enough to make me separate from this nice piece of paper. I have never seen another Hero with this scroll but I felt myself how powerful it is. So, no. That's not an offer, I can accept."

There can be seen a greedy shine in the eyes of the dwarf.

Arthur notices the greedy shine and understands. That had been him, once, and not so long ago, either.

"You overestimate its worth. At ten Ether per casting, it's an expensive effect for the reward, not to mention it's likely to fail and waste the Ether. Seeing that you are likely seeking enough Gold to purchase two gemstones, I will raise my offer to 84 Gold, but I cannot deviate from that offer at this time. Even this similar Scroll here, that grants me Luck for 10 Ether, only cost me 80. I was once a basic Mage, I know the trials of the penniless pocket. Do not fret. You will earn Gold in time, just have patience."

"If you change your mind, just seek me out. My Gold is as good as any other Hero's, and my word is even better."

"I do not mean to pry into others' business, but I do believe those instruments you have in your haul would be fine in the hands of Cronk. I do believe he is working towards becoming a Minstrel. Mayhaps those could be spared till he could put an offer in on them after he returns from his quest?"

"Cronk? Oh yes the orc paladin." Tesni shrugged. "I'm not going to tootle tunes about the place anyway. I am sure the others will have their plans and trades to make." Shuffling through the loot pile again Tesni checked for other items she might want.

Walking back to Cinna, and seeing that Amma still seemed to be listening, Arthur speaks to the Mystic Knight with a tone that betrayed his tiredness. "It seems the way of the mage is the way of debt--first to the elements, and then to our peers. Perhaps that is why we are prone to madness--we pay fate with our sanity. Do you still have that Journal I gave you? Let us use it continue our negotiations for that Scroll of Disenchantment after I have departed. I will pay any price you wish, within reason, and am even willing to make a down payment. You, of course, would keep the Scroll until I have paid the full amount. Does that seem reasonable?"

Haldor watched the returning heroes planting their vast amounts of loot on the table, and decided to go and have a look.

"Ah, this is a mighty fine collection you got here. Mind if I take a look?"

Without waiting for a reply, the nord began rifling through the loot until he came across something he liked. After a little while, Haldor held up a grating stone and the shiny Noble Mask.

"Mind if I take these off your hands? I don't have much gold, but I am willing to trade some of my things."

The shaman plonked himself down on a nearby armchair and waited for the crew to make their offers. As he was doing so, however, Haldor noticed that his good friend Tesni was amongst them; and so strolled back over to meet her.

"Ha ha, Tesni, it's been too long! How has life been to you, me old comrade?"

Not really knowing what to do, Haldor claps his collegue heartily on the back,

"What say you, after doling out the stuff we want, maybe drawing lots on the rest? 'twould be fair to leave things in the hands of fate."

"Well, we have a ton of weapons here, I think Cinna's plan of just selling them all and splitting the gold afterwards is a good one. But now, if you'll excuse me for a little while I have some things to take care of, I'll be back to finish dividing this pile between us later."

Skrall made his way through the thickening crowd. He gave a low whistle at the gleaming horde of treasure acquired by the returned questers. "Quite the haul, but then again ya've all been gone fer quite a spell."

[Rumble Strike]

"Seems like our big pile of loot has brought plenty of admirers. Is that all Heroica has been reduced to?" Tarn said, under his breath.

He responded to the big Ogre, whom he had fought alongside in the final battle of Dastan.

"Aye, we have been gone a while, but the pile you see before you represents our total progress, for we failed our Quest and may have left a valiant man to his death."

"I would be honoured to have both of you by my side. But we must remember that it was Lady Shanxian of the Ji Pei that asked for help initially, and as we failed her, I do not know if she will request Heroica's aid again."

Tesni winked and blew a kiss after Namyrra. Noticing Haldor's rummaging she chuckled. "I'd be careful there friend, I think the imp would have your hand off!" Turning to the ogre Tesni made a sign of greeting. "Well met Skrall, we could have done with your skills in that tower but someone had to face Wren." She paused a moment. "How did it all turn out friends?"

Looking over at the table I spot a Turtle Shell Shield.

"Master Hybros, if you plan to sell those items and split the Gold, I'll offer you 100 Gold for that shield, 55 Gold more than you'd get from Anwyl."

Tesni winked and blew a kiss after Namyrra. Noticing Haldor's rummaging she chuckled. "I'd be careful there friend, I think the imp would have your hand off!" Turning to the ogre Tesni made a sign of greeting. "Well met Skrall, we could have done with your skills in that tower but someone had to face Wren." She paused a moment. "How did it all turn out friends?"

Haldor felt slightly saddened that that was all she had to say, but decided to speak again in answer to her question.

"Have to make sure that I pick out anything of value before the lot goes to the furnace. It'd be a shame to see some nice kit such as this go to waste."

"As for how our quest went; well we stopped her, and that's something at least. Hans, Triad and Bal, they were good people who didn't make it through the fires, but we honour their sacrifice and treasure their memory. You should have been there, Tesni, times were that we all needed a rock to lean on. With all that talk of chaos and order, a straight-talking girl like you wouldn't have gone amiss. It's important to keep, however, that we did actually banish one of the craziest witches ever to set foot in this city into the back of beyond; that's not to be sniffed at."

The nord waited a while before continuing.

"What about you, eh? How went your trip to the far east? Were there really over a hundred of the bastards?"

"108 Haldor, 108... We managed to dent their numbers. Hybros and Cinnia were quite effective." She patted Cysgodon's pommel. "Though me and my blades did some damage. Managed to down a flying general in a one on one skirmish. Not to mention a fella made of stone and some pain in the big behind slippery guys who escaped before a kill."

Seeing his fellow Guards move past the Hall doors, Arthur knows it is time. "Cinna, I trust we may negotiate later, through the means we discussed. Dwarf, if I come into a surplus of funds on this Quest, I may be willing to offer you more for your Scroll as well. Farewell." Arthur Leaves the Hall, heading toward the Theatre.

Hybros felt sweat drip down the back of his neck, his nerves tingling. He didn't like crowds. "Eh... back off. All of you. I am simply here to divide this loot, you can pursue trades and sales later." He looked to Tarn, who said something about the the heroes worrying about loot and not other things. For once, Hybros agreed with him.

"Docken, eh, so good to see you again. The shield is not for sale, though it does not look as though you need one..." he said, noting how his old questmate seemed to be more heavily armored than the last time they met.

He turned back to Namyrra, Cinna, and Tesni. "Very well, here is the division."

Not asking Tarn to give up any of his already held items, Hybros turned to him and took out the Noble Mask. He shoved it to the barbarian's chest, saying "Take this. It suits you."

Returning to the others, he added "That should do it. If this is unfair to you, speak with me please. Namyrra, I would greatly appreciate it if you could open this Winged Box for me. I believe a wind spell will open it."

OOC: I added a few items that I had previously forgotten - the Winged Box, Cannon Parts, and Aelous Bomb. I also removed the rest of the weak consumables because I haven't been able to track them down. Whoever has them, has them. I will post my actions saying which items I trade to who, as well as an update party stats list, as well.

Tesni took her pile. "Bright Polish and a grating stone, with my grogmass gift I can improve Cysgodion and Drwy. That sawblade needs a good name after I place the ruby with it." She looked expectantly at her comarades, incase they wanted to trade or buy anything from her.

"Good to see you, too, Master Hybros. Versatility, that is why I would like to have a second shield in reserve. I have no plans to get rid of my current one for anything less than 1700 Gold, but it is not a bad idea to have a second one, both to lend to heroes on quests who can make use of it and for eventual upgrades to be more powerful than my current one."
