Heroica RPG - Heroica Hall

"I suggest further out. The city is too limiting. " Romulus laughs, and for the first time In weeks feels like he did when he first joined Heroica. Free. It was amazing how much the death of Prometheus had changed him.

[Bricksandparts]

"Should we head over to my house? It's outside of Eubric, a few miles away. There's a lake near-by, trees, not many buildings though..."

[Myrddyn]

"Ah, Sir Pretzel! I didn't recognise you at first, with those new robes. You're looking a bit tougher, too. And that flail and shield in your cart look new also. As for quests, I did some charity work in the hovels, looking for a friend of some young girl, and wound up fighting some insurgents, spiders and demons. I got this nice axe, and plenty of combat experience.

Since then, I've followed up on this letter I got from my parents - that's why I haven't been in the hall for a while."

"That's good. People get a little spooked when I'm angry."

[Kintobor]

"Sure, let go see if someone wants to come with me first and then we'll head out."

Karie got up and walked back over to Nessa.

"Hey, I'm heading out to this this guy, Johon's place. I was wondering if you wanted to come with me? It's supposedly out by a nice scenic area of Uland, and it's only a few hours away. You up for it?"

"Sure, let go see if someone wants to come with me first and then we'll head out."

Karie got up and walked back over to Nessa.

"Hey, I'm heading out to this this guy, Johon's place. I was wondering if you wanted to come with me? It's supposedly out by a nice scenic area of Uland, and it's only a few hours away. You up for it?"

She head

At first Nessa was angry about Karie and her leaving and trading and chatting with that human and the were-guy. She felt lost and alone. 'Have I been betrayed again?' She asked herself. Suddenly Karie approached her again with an offer. "It could be fun. What will we be doing there?" She put the full bottle of wine on a table nearby. Perhaps Drake would come by shortly.

[Kintobor]

"Johon and his buddy Romulus are going to help me with some self defense moves, as well as just helping me be more awesome! I'm sure they wouldn't mind you coming along? As for Drake... I'm still mad at him for what happened back in the alley. I'd prefer to deal with him later, so for now, why don't me and you go out to the cabin and check out what their talking about?"

She'd prefer for Nessa to come along, just in case something went down, but she didn't want to be upfront about her with it.

[herrJJ]

"Ok then. Let's go out."

[Kintobor]

"Perfect!"

She leads Nessa to Romulus and Johon, who were waiting for them where they last were.

"I'm ready! Hope you don't mind if I bring a friend?"

To be fair, she was more along the lines of an acquaintance, but it was better than having no one else.

[Bricksandparts]

Johon shakes hands with Nessa, then acquaints her with Romulus and himself.

"This is Romulus, I'm Johon. Nice meeting you. What's your name? Ok, I guess we should head out now."

Johon recalls Karie saying 'a few hours'.

"Less than an hour the way we'll be traveling."

The group stares at Johon confused.

"Here, I'll show you what I mean."

Johon leads them to a stable near the hall. Entering in the room they hear a wide range of animal noises, ranging from horses to monkeys, to birds. Johon whistles, and completely unexpected animal swoops down from the ceiling.

Karie steps back a little bit, partially due to shock, partially due to awe.

"Wow, it certainly is a splendid looking creature! What is it?"

[Bricksandparts]

"A dragon, it can't fight, but it can fly. I found it a while back, but I don't want to risk it's life in battle. I've been keeping it here for now."

[Kintobor]

Karie's mouth drops. Here standing in front of her was a dragon. A majestic, beauty of nature.

"Well, whenever your ready lets head out. Not going to lie, I'm a little excited! Never in my life did I expect to ride something this beautiful looking!"

For all the bad stuff that had happened in the past few weeks, this made up for some of it.

OoC: Just RPing while I wait to see if Romulus or Nessa have any immediate RPing.

Johon noticed Karie seemed troubled about something.

"What's wrong?"

[Kintobor]

"Hmm, oh nothing. It's just been a hectic few weeks is all. I'm used totally comfortable with the new occupation yet. I used to be a performer at a night club. It was a nice gig."

She stands in the stables, arms crossed, reminiscing the times in the club. It seemed as if everything was but a blur to her back then, but now she can remember things vividly.

"Oh well, stuff happens."

Lab rat, lab rat, lab rat...

The Harvester's scar was still there. At this rate, there was no use in hoping for it to disappear. It was going to be on her, a mark left by the Apprentice. A mark that would most likely be there for life.

Hybros watched as Guts sliced and threw the young woman overboard. "So, a hero from Heroica... she does realize the food is free at the Hall?" Hybros grumbled. "All that trouble for nothing. Oh well, eheh."

Guts looks over at Hybros, who had been looking this whole time. He smirked, took a bite out of one of the apples he took back from Karie, throwing another at Hybros, and asked: "Do you disapprove?"

He shrugged. "No. I used to steal plenty, from the rich and the poor. How else was I to survive? But you can be sure that I was careful about it, and who exactly I stole from, hehe. I did not always get off... how do you say it? Free Scott?... but that human is just asking for trouble. You were right to protect your own property. I suppose... you could say I have not yet stopped stealing, heheheh."

"My name is Nessa Anárion. Nice to meet you, Johon, Romulus." They left the hall and entered the stables. It was huge and impressive. Though it looked different from the dragons in the north. In dragon tongue Nessa introduced herself: "My name is Nessa, oh dear friend. May I get the permission to ask for your name?"

Having taken his time returning from the Fields, Thormanil notices a group on their way out of he Hall. Among them was Lycan, whom Thormanil remembered having lent gold to.

Johon speaking to Karie, "This is Romulus, I'm Johon. Nice meeting you. What's your name? Ok, I guess we should head out now."

'Romulus, hm? Well, no matter. A rose by any other name...' Thormy thought to himself, before grabbing the attention of the young man:

"Mm.. 'scuse me, Lycan, or, err, Romulus.. it's been quite a while, perhaps you've changed your name since last we met. But a change of name won't spare ya any debt, I'm afraid! Heh heh. Do y'happen to have that hundred or so gold on you, by chance?"

He shrugged. "No. I used to steal plenty, from the rich and the poor. How else was I to survive? But you can be sure that I was careful about it, and who exactly I stole from, hehe. "Hm. I see. Suppose it wouldn't be easy for you to find work looking like that. Can't blame you. Now, want to see this girl in action?"Guts said, Referencing the ship they were on.

"Don't mistake disgust for fear. It's a common problem among abominations. They think they are powerful, because they inspire fear, but unfortunately, their pride prevents them from seeing what the person truly thinks of them."

"Meh, that Foxy fellow wouldn't allow me to officially become a Paladin without a "real" weapon. Humbug to him! You are looking rather well yourself, Erik. Your parents have been taking good care of you, I'll wager. I just got back from questing with the young Rogue, Mizuki. She's gone assassin now. Noticed her hacking down men and creepy crawlers alike in the quickest of strokes. We went to Dastan to cure a dragon of a wicked parasite. It all went rather well, I am pleased to say. Some amazing winged people hired us.

I noticed you signing up for the latest quest. It would be good to quest together again. I am hoping my status as a Paladin will enable me to go on the current quest. Solving murder mysteries sounds like a worthwhile task, truth be told. You wouldn't happen to have any elemental gems in your possession or scrolls for that matter, do you?"

Drake looked around. He saw Pretzel in his all-holy looking position, a guy in a green hat rolling his eyes at him and... Erik?

Drake stared. Was that really the guy who was with him on his first ever quest so many months ago? Drake stood up from his seat and jumped onto the railings on the stairs, singing nursery rhymes such as "The Dragon Who Flew Away" and "Zoot the Enemy" out loud so that Erik would hear him.

"Ohhh... A dragon was born in a mighty land..."

[TheBoyWonder]

"Oh yes." Romulus tosses over 95 gold to Thormanil.

[Myrddyn]

"Ah, I guess that was a poor choice of words on my part. My parents are dead. The letter was more of a final statement. Still, it's good to hear you and Mizuki are doing well."

"I don't have any gems or scrolls, I'm afraid. Sorry about that."

Hearing singing, Erik turns, and salutes the knight precariously balanced on the stairs.

'My name is Ethelim, it has been a long time since I have been able to talk to anyone else. Mainly just Johon and the stable workers here.'

When everyone was ready to go, Johon led the dragon out to a clearing in the streets and told everyone to get on. He went through the basics of riding the dragon, how to hold on and lean side-to-side, and other rudimentary skills. When everyone was ready, the group got on the dragon and headed out. Johon flew the dragon through Eubric and towards his home.

Johon sees the new hero enter the hall. It had been quite a long time since he had seen any new heroes, and decided to introduce himself.

"Hello, Cam, I believe I heard you say?" Johon shakes hands with the (small?) rogue. "Nice to meet you, it has been a while since we have seen any new heroes in the hall."

"Hello, nice to meet you too, I hurt, a lot, you wouldn't happen to have any healing poitions would you?
