"Thanks for being there, anyway, De'kra. I'll keep what you said in mind, though, as I leave on my new assignment."

Arthur moves over to Sorrow. "Hey, it seems I'm onto my next posting. I'll probably need that scarf of mine, mind giving it back? And, uh...you going to do anything about that hand?"

[Endgame]

I unfurl the scarf and hand it to Arthur. I crease my brow and look away, seemingly at nothing, for a few seconds, before I respond to his inquiry about my hand:

"Arthur. Can I trust you with something?"

[Flipz]

"Of course."

[Endgame]

I motion for him to sit down, and heave a deep breath to soothe my nerves. Syntax pushes to take control, but I refuse to let him. I will become the master of my own guilt... even if it takes an eternity.

"Do you recall my... episode, in the alley? With Violetta's appearance? Paranoia really can be a lovely thing at times, Arthur."

I remove the rag soaked with Violetta's blood and fling it on the table between us two. I look away, pensive, simply saying:

"It's a girl."

[Flipz]

"You mean, it wasn't just coincidence? She really was related to...?"

"..."

"I'm sorry. I don't know all the details, but...well. If anyone ever killed Caroline...well, I admit, the world would be a better place without her...but it'd still hurt. Losing people sucks. Especially if you don't have the chance to say goodbye..."

"...I'll...leave you to your thoughts."

Arthur heads somberly towards the Marketplace, but immediately sees Nagure's sign. Well...they WERE useful... "Nagure, how about 250 Gold for those Sticky Gloves? It's what you'd get from Fabian anyway, only you'd be helping me out instead of him."

Grimwald hands over the Healing Staff.

He also goes over to Nagure and gives him back his helmet.

"Granddaughter." I state absentmindedly to Arthur as he walks away.

"Granddaughter, seperated by 16 generations."

I bury my head in my arms, careful not to impale myself on my own hand. I looked at my mauled hand, blood still seething out of some wounds... but I refused to fix it. Now or ever.

[Costy]

Arthur heads somberly towards the Marketplace, but immediately sees Nagure's sign. Well...they WERE useful... "Nagure, how about 250 Gold for those Sticky Gloves? It's what you'd get from Fabian anyway, only you'd be helping me out instead of him."

"Ah, what the hell."

I trade the Sticky Gloves for 250 gold.

Boomingham smiled to see his little friend, and thought back to their last meeting.

"I'm another year older," Boomingham mumbles to himself in shock.

"Eheh, we all are getting older. It never gets easier, does it?" Hybros thought about Guts, and himself, both seemingly losing their strength. Had it really been a year since he last saw Boomingham?

"You heard about the Theatre? I met your Jei Pi there. The woman was polite enough, at first. I offered her condolences on her son." Boomingham sighs deeply. "When Guts and I last spoke, we discussed the political state of Eubric. I told him change, if it were to come, had to be violent, and it looks like it is. Change does not come quickly in peace." Boomingham downs the rest of his bottle with noisy slurps. "I was not impressed by the elite of Eubric. They reminded me too much of myself when I was King." Boomingham slouches back. "They are rude and ignorant. They shirk the responsibility they've gained. But the Wolfgang is worse, and so we protect them."

Hybros nodded. "I suspected Shanxian Ji Pei would be there. I hope she did not seem too upset..." Hybros cast his eyes downward. "It was a great dishonor that I had done to her and her family. As for change, well, sometimes we are just too swept up in our own lives to make any real difference, heh." Although he let out a small chuckle, he still frowned.

Hybros, this is Arthur. He's proven himself able bodied."

"We've met, briefly. A pleasure to see you again, Master Hybros." The imp seemed familiar to the Sorcerer, but it took a few moments for the realization behind the impression to kick in. "You own a Plaything." It wasn't a question, nor an expression of awe, or even an acknowledgement of kinship. It just...was; if anything, a mere statement of realization--or was it fascination? In any case, the moment is quickly dropped. "But that's irrelevant.

"Yes, good to see that you are still in one piece after the theater, heheh. You will have to tell me about it." Hybros instinctively reached for Zoot's Reaper at its mention, and patted the hilt once he knew that it was safely sheathed on his back. And in a moment, Arthur was gone again.

[Tanma]

IC: De'kra spotted Hybros, and made his way over. "Greetings brother," he clicked looking down, "It has been long time. How have your adventures been?"

[Zepher]

"Sorry ta interrupt gentlemen, but I believe this 'ere scroll is yours Mr. Boomingham" he says as he hands the man back his Scroll of Weakening.

"Thank you for lendin' this ta me, but I didn't get a chance ta use it, eheheh..."

"Perhaps one day, Grimwald. Best of luck to you, chap."

"Sorry to interrupt chaps" she smiles apologetically at Boomingham's companions "I just need to get these to Larry dear before he heads out." Nyx hands over Boomingham's Scroll of Frailty and Sterile Gloves. "Thank you for these, I hope they serve you well wherever you're off to next Larry." Nyx orders her Flaming Gumball from Scheherezade, taking a sip. Realising Boomigham probably has to go very soon, she hugs him tightly, whispering: "It was wonderful to fight with you again. Come back safe and we'll drink together then." Releasing him from her grip she says in a normal tone: "Thank you for my share of the loot, good luck Larry. Sorry for interrupting." she adds to the othes and continues drinking her drink.

Boomingham smiles at her. "Give Thothwick his Flaming Gumball and my compliments. See if you can't lift some of those cosmic essences off him too." Boomingham glances at Barty, who is frantically zipping around the Questboard. "Seems I'm already off, dearest. Stay alive. I will see you soon."

Arthur makes a quick trip through the Marketplace, but not far from the Barracks, he spots an unfamiliar figure who seems to have an excess of equipment--several stylish pairs of gloves chief among them. "Excuse me, sir, but I have to say I've taken a liking to those gloves you're carrying. Would you take 900 Gold for one of each?" OOC: I may not be online tomorrow morning, I'm taking family to the airport, so I'm setting my and Galen's trade for 1 Overkill Gloves and 1 Stingy Gloves up so he can accept it without any additional input from me; sorry it's so anticlimactic.

As Drake tapped his fingers on his table, he remembered something he wanted to say for a long time.

"Karie is so confusing. But why?"

"I don't know. Ask the guy in shadows."

"Who?"

"I don't know this time, too. He seems real depressing though so I'd be careful."

"Huh. Well, I guess I'll just wonder why Karie seemed so funny and familiar when she was a newt."

Dak sat down on the stairs and looked up. He gazed at the roof for so long, but there seemed to be something bothering him.

"Well, maybe she's weird because she's always sneaking around. Like a... like a..."

"Like a cat?"

"Yeah, something like that."

[Tachyon]

Mizuki walks to the bar and orders a pot if tea before nibbling on a slice of chocolate cake waiting for something to happen.

Guts finishes up reading some papers detailling recent events on the Northern coasts of Abra at the bar. On his way down to the questing board, he throws the paper in one of the smoldering hearths. The raider is slightly annoyed as he finds there are currently no quests open, the last quest just left. The raider stroked his chin (he hadn't shaved in a couple of days, dark hair had started to appear), and went back upstairs. He sat himself down on a chair next to Hybros, facing away from the imp and towards the rest of the hall.

"So, you think you have it in you to become a sailor?"

[JimBee]

"Too long, and here we are parting again. I'll see you soon, Hybros. Stay safe, my friend. I told the Lady Shanaxian I'd help recover her boy, and if you will be there too, that will make it all the better. Tell your friend Guts I say hello." Boomingham pats Hybros affectionately on the head. "You are a good friend, Hybros. We must go affect some change together some time soon. Or at least catch a drink."

With that, Boomingham leaves the Hall once more.

Hybros can only nod and wave goodbye. He then mumbled something about 'fleeting'.

"De'kra, it is good to see you again. I have been... well. After our quest below this city together, I ventured to the Ji Pei palace, and then to their homeland, Xu. It was... a long, and unsuccessful trip." Hybros coughed into his elbow, then took a sip of water. "And you, my little friend, where have you been?"

IC: De'kra nodded, "I tried to help Jei Pi too, I and some other heroes stopped automaton from being stolen. After that quest I became Sorceror, which I think suit I better than assassin. Only reason I not chose it at first is, I had not really believe I deserve powers. Right now I am limit myself to just wield light though."

He continued "After that I travel to Dastan, to help beautiful people called Rito. We manage to calm dragon and save it from death, though we still not sure what that parasite was. Hopefully other dragons nor in danger."

Looking down De'kra clicked, "I spoke to hero from Quest 66. Wolfgang generals are dead, but houses now hate each other more than ever. And according to him there is Veteran and ties to the Wolfgang, which I hope is not true. Still, there lot we not know about Wolfgang."

OOC: yes, got the picture of Cyclos. Now I can finally go get the Ballad of Gales.

"I was thinking, when there's no missions that need our immediate attention, I might travel around, see how things are around here. There's enough trouble in Eubric to keep us busy, but we shouldn't forget the rest of the world. I might do some trading, perhaps hunt down some pirates. Can't hurt. I'm sure the captain could take suggestions for where the crew would like to go." The raider said the last thing with a grin. He then saw Dek'ra, and his face immediately turned sour, he added: "Just got to be wary of thieves and stoaways."

[Pandora]

Nyx watches as Boomingham says goodbye to his drinking partner, after saying his goodbyes to her. She sees him pat him on the head, not surprising as he seems a little short, but an unusual gesture. The bald man sits next to him, and they engage in a quiet conversation. She raises her glass to Boomigham's drinking companion as she addresses him.

"Hello, I believe Larry called you Hybros? I'm Nyx. Any friend of Larry's is a friend of mine. Nice to meet you."

She looks past Hybros to the bald man, intrigued, but wishing to learn more about the hero in front of her she continues the conversation she's started.

"So, uhm, Hybros? Can I get you a drink? How do you know Larry?"

Hybros frowned at the mention of the Wolfgang. "A Veteran, in the Wolfgang? Well, perhaps they know something we do not. We must question what this organization stands for, yes, eheh... but I am sure many would not be pleased to know that one of our own is affiliated with, what some might call, conniving criminals, hehehe."

Hybros turned his head back to De'kra when Guts put emphasis on 'stowaways'. "Guts, this is De'kra... what he is, I am not sure, but he has been a friend."

An impressively beautiful young woman sat down at the table. Beautiful... for a human. "Well met Nyx. No drink for me, thank you, but a friend of Lawrence is a friend of mine, hehee. He and I go far back, to our first days in Heroica. We stopped a shipment of Shadeaux goods at their warehouse on our first quest together. He is a noble man, if a little... bombastic at times, hehe. And you, what is your relationship with the 'King', hm? You seem a little young to be a... mate."

I sign up for Quest 72: A Party.

I sign my name under Quest 72 and Quest 73.

Drake looked up as two quests were revealed.

"This ought to be interesting."

"Pick one, quick!"

"I'll choose after I've read both notes."

[Scubacarrot]

"We can do that. And I've met it."

Guts waved over Docken, and said to Hybros next to him: "We should sign up for Guffington's job, we can't afford to lose him." The raider proceeds to stand up, and says loudly, for all to hear:

"Listen up. I am Captain Guts Holla, and I, along with Bartholomew Docken and Hybros, will be signing up for the mission at Guffington's. We do need a fourth. Sign up with us, and you will get picked, without question. If you are up to the task, come talk to me."

In the meantime, Guts signs himself up with Hybros and Docken for Quest 72, with himself as party leader.
