Peanuts Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Henry likes the story of Benji a lot, although it sounds a bit snidely about drunk crooks. "Many great things have been invented by drunk crooks", he grumbles under his breath. "By the way, another dramatic background of a dead sibling. Shall we drink?" The family background of Dyric sounds quite interesting as well. Not many rouges out there with noble background, he thinks. Quote

Jedi master Brick Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Elgar sat down to eat his cow, this time not having to worry about arrows . He then looked round the hall was still crowed even though 18 people were on quests. Still 28 people he stood amazed and requested a toast in the name off herocia and for theirs risking their lives questing for the good of the people Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Skrall returned to the hall refreshed, after all he had slept for 2 whole days. He had stopped by the market place, but found that there wasn't anything pertinent that he needed, so after wandering through the stalls and rolling his eyes after any fair maiden who caught sight of him feinted he had decided it was time for some breakfast. Upon entering Heroica Hall he noted the silence that had seemed to pervade the space since all of the questers had left on their journeys. There was still a fair amount of people within, but most were huddled in small groups conversing quietly by themselves, except for a rather loud individual with a rather large axe giving a rogue a hard time. "A barbarian by the looks of him," thought Skrall as he avoided bumping into a hooded stranger consuming an entire cow at a table near him. Skrall took a seat near by the ravenous ranger and ordered a large bowl of mash and a slab of bacon. While his order was being prepared he took to analyzing the crowd around him. "Hmmm... Several rangers, a rogue or two, some more half naked barbarians, and the odd knight or mage mixed in for seasoning. Ah youth... out to seek glory and riches no doubt, and everyone of 'em's got a sad and sorrowful tale of death, betrayal, and revenge to boot," Skrall reflected. He had heard a few tales that had found their way out of the hall and into the market place concerning the deeds of his kind and couldn't say he had relished the possible reception he might have received upon his return. He didn't condone those among his race who thought it their right to maul, cleave, and altogether obliterate others simply for the pleasure of the deed, the heavens knew he had done his fair share of havoc during his early days, but he wouldn't back down should someone espouse the idea that they were only inferior killing beasts, fit only to be hunted like dogs. "Ah well," he thought "perhaps these younglings haven't ever had a civilized conversation with an orc before." and with that he set into his newly arrived breakfast thanking the bar maid for her kindness. Sirius Black Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 After wandering the town for a few days, looking for something to pass the time with before new quests were announced, Bob found himself back at Heroica Hall. Surprisingly, it was fairly quiet. Bob attributed this to the fact that most of the boisterous (and more than slightly insane, in some cases) rouges, barbarians, knights, and chickens were off questing. Bob looked down at his shovel sadly, wishing that he had the opportunity to use it. Sitting at an empty table, Bob observed the other heroes still present in the hall. Quote
posades Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 (edited) Xander was homesick; this was not as he had imagined it to be. He preferred the lush vegetation of the nearby forest than the large, damp halls of the building, and thus had taken it upon himself to meditate and train in the outskirts of town for several days. Sensing new quests might be posted soon, he made his way back to Heroica Hall. Always one to keep to himself unless spoken to, he asked the bartender for a glass of water and sat at an empty table near the corner of the room, observing the other visitors with hawk-like attention. He spotted a rather sad looking elf out of the corner of his eye but remained motionless, waiting for it to make the first move. Edited August 24, 2011 by posades Quote
Darkdragon Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Cinna walks into the still quiet hall, she doesn't even need to stop by the quest board to know there is nothing new posted. Instead, she heads straight upstairs. She sees a few folks up there already, mostly looking dejected and bored. One catches her eye, a small house elf sitting alone at a table. She tried to catch his eye but he is looking down sadly so she heads to the bar to order. "Hi Scheherazade, I'd like a white wine and whatever you think a free-house-elf might like." she nods thank you when the drinks are set in front of her and heads to the table with them. "Hello there", she says to the house-elf, "what has you down?" Cinna takes a sip of wine and sets the other drink down in front of the house-elf. "And do you mind if I sit here?" Quote
Flare Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Benji notices that no one is interested in any more stories from him, so he leaves the bar for now and goes down to the questboard. Disappointed that there are no new quests yet, he heads out... Lets hope he doesn't get in trouble while he's out. Quote
Sirius Black Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Bob looked up from his ponderings, startled to find someone standing across the table from him. "Hello there, what has you down?" She said, setting a glass of wine in front of him. "And do you mind if I sit here?" After a split second of hesitation, Bob decided he would definitely enjoy the company. It had been a most boring week. His shovel had yet to be used, and he hadn't found wandering the town to be very heroic. "Bob would like the company! Bob is sad because Bob hasn't had the chance to prove himself. Bob has heard tales of heroes and drunken heroes and drunken roosters roaming the lands and finding treasures, but all Bob can do right now is wander the town. Bob is wondering if you are a mage? Bob hasn't seen very many mages around recently. Bob also wonders where you come from? Quote
Darkdragon Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 (edited) Cinna smiles and sits down in the chair accross from Bob. "Nice to meet you Bob. I'm Cinna, you might see me sign my name as Cinna The Dark but most people just call me Cinna. My parents added "The Dark" because of my interest in the darkness magic - don't worry though, I'm not an evil mage." She has a sip of wine before continuing. "I come from the nearyby town where I grew up. You are right, I am a mage - almost all of the people in my family are mages going back many generations. Actually I just completed my preliminary Mage training with Master Conshaw at the local School of Magic. I've come here to Heroica Hall to gain some real world experience and hope to get some gold to send back to my family too." "After I was passed over for the quest I signed up for, I've also been wondering what to do. I did buy a shovel in the marketplace and I've used it to try and find some treasure down by the beach but haven't found much. If you like seafood, there are some tasty clams down there. Other then that, well I found an old boot and a broken mug. Nothing too useful. I can't just head home yet so I keep checking for new quests and see what the rumors around town are." "Looks like you are a mage also, what drew you to magic or was it something you were born with?" Edited August 24, 2011 by darkdragon Quote
Aveal the black sheep Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 (edited) The night was dark and moisty in Eubrick Freeport.Down the road came a hooded figure of strong but short stature riding a apparently small horse. At the towns gate the man inquired the guard for the fabled hall of heroes and strolled along. The Hall was laid empty, with the exception of a few talking by the fire and a couple who laid fast asleep from the booze. The mysterious rider open the doors of hall swiftly but without noise, and said with a thundering yet sooding voice "I am Barur of the Tormek clan, and came to heal this land of evil! Who will join me in this endeavour?" Looking at the empty questboard the dwarf frowns and sits down in a vacant table and waits Edited August 24, 2011 by Aveal the black sheep Quote
Jebediahs Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 En Sabah Nur materialized from a shadow, never truly leaving Hall and approached the Quest Board. "Hmmm. Perhaps tomorrow..." The dark mage floated up the stairs to see who was dining in the Hall. En Sabah Nur walked amongst the somber crowd until he spotted two mages, one appeared to be comforting the other. "Perhaps I shall join them. It will be nice to interact with and learn from like-minded individu-" A dwarf burst into the Hall. Dwarf: "I am Barur of the Tormek clan..." "Ah, a new player has entered the field. Quite lively too. We'll see how he fairs..." En Sabah Nur grinned. Quote

Speedboat Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Grush enters the hall once more. He sets his pack and axe down at the door and walks up to the bar. Ordering a mug of ale from the ever-present and ever-friendly Scheherazade, he turns and adresses the other heroes sitting at the tables: "I am tired of sitting around in this hall and inside these city walls. I guess it will be some time until new quests will be offered to us, so I will go out and explore the surroundings of the city for a few days. Is there anyone here, that wishes to accompany me? I need to breathe fresh air again and make camp in the wilds instead of walking beneath the shadows of stone towers and walls all day and sleeping in feather beds at night. Lets go out and have us some adventures of our own until the people of Heroica have need of our weapons and spells. What do you say?" Quote
Aveal the black sheep Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Barur asked for a pint of ale and took a big look around the fire lit hall. 'A awfull lot of mages' he wandered 'and some a bit darker than it is to be expected in the room of heroes...perhaps i shouldn´t have made such a bold entrance' But that was Barur, since childhood he was always been a little reckless. He had reasoning and if he took the time he was quiet wise for a dwarf of his age, he just choose not to use it. It was because of this he took the path of cleric trying to learn discipline and control his decisions better... 'Maibe i should make acquaintances' Barur thought.'Afterall i can not purge evil on my own.The question here is who shall i befriend' Taking another sip of is mug he looked better at the 'heroes' around him...the shadow mage was misterious, and looked a bit more powerfull than his novice look would show, too say the least and Barur let him be(for now...).At the other table there where the other two mages chatting lively joined by a rogue that spoke little. No other heroes could be seen, at least not sober enough, and Barur stroke his orange beard and took a minute... Quote
Jebediahs Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Before he could reach the human and 'elf pair at their table, En Sabah Nur heard his friend Grush enter the Hall. On his way to the orc he nodded with respect to the venerable cleric as if sensing his great power. "Well met, Grush. I will join you in your search for adventure after I have my own adventure to the privy. If you'll excuse me..." As he made his way to the privy, En Sabah Nur removed a small pebble from his cloak and brought it to eye level. "You will allow me to hear the goings-on in the Hall while I am away." En Sabah Nur mumbled a few words and kicked the small rock in a corner. "I hope Scheherazade doesn't sweep that up. I wouldn't want to be listening to the mating calls of cats in the alley all day." En Sabah Nur grinned. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 After a couple of days exploring the fair city and surrounding area, Hoke enters Heroica Hall in the bustle of the midday. He makes his way upstairs to order a delicious meal from the kitchen. Hoke sits down at a worn yet sturdy wooden table to wait for his meal. He notices a few new faces in the Hall. Quote

Waterbrick Down Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Skrall awoke with a start as a dwarf with a very orange beard strode into the hall, announcing himself with a shout "I am Barur of Tormek...". Skrall looked down at his breakfast that he had half finished hours ago. He had been day dreaming about his first merchant he had "seperated" from his his wares. He chuckled as he remembered how he had found himself blessed with half a dozen barrels of pickled herring and his embarrasment when he returned home with his booty to share among the tribe. As he reflected upon this, Skrall observed En Sabah Nur materialize out of the shadows of the hall and listened as Grush the orc shouted his call for an adventure. He couldn't blame the orc, he personally had never taken delight in the big cities as well, but he had learned that patience for the expected often yielded more satisfaction than rushing headlong into the unknown. "Feel free to go without me Grush, I know how the hot blood of our people burns within ya for more excitement than what this hall is offerin' of late. I shall remain and wait for the excitement to come to me, which I'm sure be in it's due time. Until then, make sure you don't get yarself or En Sabah Nur killed, imprisoned, or turned into toads or some other manner of flora or fauna," Skrall joked and with that he bid them a fine adventure. As Grush's party prepared to move out, Skrall hauled himself out off of his bench and took a seat across from the newly arrived dwarf ordering a tankard of buttermilk from the bar maid as he did so. "Well my good dwarf, it's been an age since I had any dealin's with your kind. The name's Skrall, no fancy surnames or what have ya, just plain Skrall. Where do ya hail from and what brings you to this fair hall?" Quote
Aveal the black sheep Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 After nodding back at the shadow mage ('perhaps is not has distrustfull as I first thought') Barur notice the ogre coming his way. Always a little uneasy near mages, the dwarf turned to the ogre who appeared to the a ranger of some sort... 'Greetings Skrall, do sit down and share a beverage. Though it as been a while also since i dealt with your kin,and the business then wasn't pleasant, I´m not one to judge on race, and after all you were kind enough to greet me. I hail from the northern side of the Baresh mountains,as they are called in these parts, where the hold of the Tormek clan lays, carven deep in those granite rocks. This is where i came from but what matters is where i go...how about you, young ogre, what brings you to the hall of heroes?' Barur spoke proudly of his home though there was something of a worry in his speech, the kind you get when you cannot return to the place you came from... Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 "Thank you Barur, I will join you in a drink," Skrall replied as the bar maid appeared with his buttermilk. He took a long draft of the foaming cream and settled himself in his seat. Skrall chuckled at the description of old but knew that it was all a matter of perspective among the different races. "Quite honestly Barur, I came here because I heard that there was good money to be made in the heroing business. I was, for quite some time, one of the few highwayogres in these parts, but that business has moved southward as the traders around here have taken to arming their caravans with more sophisticated and especially nefarious individuals. I come from the south and have steadily worked my way northwards away from the sufferin' and oppression of my people that seems to linger on in that part of the land, though probably with due cause." Skrall took another swig of his tankard and proceeded to pull out his ram horn pipe. "Now pardon me if I be intrudin' to deep, but yar voice seems to tell a different tale about your homeland, leave a sweet little dwarf maid behind did ya?" Quote
The Legonater Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Cinna looks at the stranger who has joined Bob at the table. "Hello, I don't think we've met yet. I'm Cinna The Dark. Who are you and what do you do?" She smiles so as not to look too intimidating to the newcomer. The name's Dyric Rone. I'm a rogue from a long line of rogues. Like I was just telling some of the guys over there, my family has a hint of royal blood in it. Didn't help me none, as I got exiled from the country my family lived in when the real royalty discovered our rogue-ish actions. Quote
Aveal the black sheep Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 (edited) 'So it is greed that moves you ogre' said Barur taking a glance at his own purse. 'Although in these harsh times I can´t say I blame you...' The dwarf took a big sip from his wooden mug reluctant to answer Skrall´s question about his coming to Eubrick. After a while he spoke, his voice grave and harsh 'It is not wise to stick your nose in dwarf business boy specially one you just meet' Barur took a breath 'But you were not rude in your question and I mean not to be rude myself. I will tell you this...I seek treasure myself...Not gold but a diferent kind...I lost something that it was not mine to lose.I may not return until I find it...I may never do...I'll at least redeem for what I have done... The dwarf looked aside and went quiet...with a gesture of his head he asked the ogre to step aside for a while. From his pouch he took a little pipe, made of rock, with runes engraved in it,runes the ogre (or all the humans in the Hall) could not understand. He put some herbs in it,lited it up by the fire and returned to the same place as before. The dwarf did nothing and said nothing until it dawned. As the first rays of light it the stained glass the dwarf was looking trough he spoke but one word '...Eowar' Edited August 25, 2011 by Aveal the black sheep Quote
