Boomingham sits silently as Ellaria and Arthur exchange weapons and scrolls, staring wistfully into his tea instead of greeting the Sorcerer. He grins as Arthur walks away. "Be careful of that one, Ellaria. He's smarter than he lets on."

Ellaria gets worried and flustered.

"Oh! Do you think I got bamboozled? Was that a bad trade in your opinion?"

"Oh, no, I apologize my dearest. He is, believe it or not, honorable with his gold. It is on the field that you must watch him with a wary eye." Boomingham pats her wrist reassuringly. "I didn't mean to cause you distress. How about you have a drink while I continue on this tea of your's. We can live vicariously through each other."

Believe it or not? Well, I have earned it, I suppose. The writing--as it had after Dastan, and many times since--had helped him find a measure of peace. With the dwarf completely flustered by his simple exercise in curbing impatience--and I didn't even make him count in Griik like Dad did--Arthur found the words flowing freely from his quill.

Hours later, he was forced to stop--he still had much to transcribe, but the human hand can only remain clenched in a single position for so long. Standing up and shaking out his hand, he decides to stretch his legs with a trip to the Quest board.

There was just a single notice now--one posted by the Bro'bric Elves. Arthur grimaced--he knew that his reputation with the Lion Knights would work against him here. Still, his technical skills from that battle were legend among the Lions and everyone they came into contact with. Perhaps that might help to balance things out. And besides, he needed a chance to exercise that side of him--and the opportunity to clean up some of the aftermath of that war would be a welcome simplicity compared to the muddy morality of his previous five outings. These thoughts in mind, Arthur pens down his name for Quest 77.

Arthur looks around. There was no sign of Dyric, or De'kra. Where are they? They should be here for this, too. They're perfect for the job--even moreso than me.

Grimwald returns to the hall, and spies Arthur amongst the faces.

"Oh, 'ello there lad, I have the gold I owe you now." Grimwald hands Arthur the 50 gold loaned to him.

He also signs up for Quest #77.

Boomingham claps Arnulf on the back as his name is called. "Looks like you're off again, chappo. Make sure to collect some good stories for me."

"Sure thing boss. Look after yourself. See you, then I'll have more stories." Arnulf said with caring voice. "Keep an eye on traitor ad her supporters"

As I walk away from the caravan, the distanc ebetween me and the Wolfgang finally got Syntax to calm down - his guilt once again temporarily submerged, I managed to assert myself over him. People walking on the streets watching my shambling figure would see a drastic change in a matter of seconds. My shoulders sagged, my palms were open, my posture suddenly straightened. A more caring and trustworthy man was walking the streets then the one who was before, they'd note, based on the body language. Do people normally read that kind of thing, though? I use trivial thoughts to distract myself during my trek back to the hall, sinking into a seat, scanning for familiar faces. I wave to a few, getting up and addressing them. A hard task, as fate would have it. They were all isolated from eachother. Maybe I was just desperate for conversation, considering I only said about 4 sentences to.

"Ah, Arthur, Boomingham, Johon and... Err, Karie, was it? How have your travels treated you?"

"They've treated me as they ever do," says Boomingham with a twisted smile. "Ups and downs and not too many of the bits in between. Take a seat, Sorrow."

I chuckle softly, pulling up a seat.

"Life in general is that, I suppose. Me, I just managed to end a few more members of the Wolfgang... But I think the years are catching up to this tattered old body. Enemies I could snatch from with ease are proving far harder..."

I give another guilty chuckle, but the concern in my face is obvious. My hand instinctively goes for my heart, trembling a bit - my beat was weak and labored.

"I've supposed to be dead for over 400 years at this point. Guess the gods have decided I'm finally beginning to wear out my welcome."

I straighten myself out, looking to the other personat the bar: a druid.

"Ah, my bad, I try not to lament. I believe we've met before: Ellaria, correct?"

These thoughts in mind, Arthur pens down his name for Quest 77.

"18...............................19...........................20! Now Mister Arthur Justus Regulus VII, will you please come down off Mount Cavora and talk to the ambassador and possible future questmate standing just below eye level?" said Throlar with noticeable irritation in his voice.

Haldor yawned lazily.

"Dwarf, ambassador, whoever you are. Leave the patrons alone and stop being so irritating, it's pissing me off."

"I've been trying to talk with this man for some time and I think that you're meddling in what does not concern you."
Posted

"Whatever you say. Just keep it down."

Haldor winked.

"I tried" said Throlar"that's not very easy for Me,that's probably why... but you don't want to hear about that do you?"

"A word of advice--he who would speak with someone had best have something worth speaking about. You've yet to offer a coherent topic of conversation, Mister Dwarf--and unlike the friends and Heroes whom I've allowed to interrupt my work, I don't actually know you." Arthur tried not to let the irritation show in his voice, but enough of it made it through as to be clearly evident.

"Excuse me for a moment."

I stand up and pen my name under Quest 77, knowing fully well I was a far cry form an elf.

As I return to my stool, I pass by the commotion between Arthur and the dwarf.

"Sir diplomat. We face plenty of adversary out of the hall. We don't need any in here."

I raise an eyebrow at the literal heap of detritius and documents Arthur was working vigorously on, the pile being almost as tall as I.

"Why the books, Arthur? Lending Byblos a hand?"

The door to the Hall opens with a whisper, and you see the dark-cloaked figure moves once more to the Quest Board.

"Two elves, good. Druids should please my lord as well.

"I should check the history of the heroes. I believe this Hall has a library somewhere..."

And just as quickly as before, the figure is gone, walking deeper into Heroica Hall instead of exiting the building.

"I just wanted to find out if My assumption that you were Arthur was correct, as you have verified that I would have nothing else to ask."

"However, you have just signed up for a quest that I have also signed up for, therefore there is a chance that we will be spending a great deal of time together so it would be a good idea to get to know each other first."

Throlar's voice grows calmer.

"I am genuinely sorry for annoying you, but I haven't had any sleep last night and that tends to make me disagreeable."

Throlar extends his hand.

"Throlar Wineghilm ambassador to the Wineghilm clan of Titaan and worst diplomat in the world."

"Excuse me for a moment."
