Karie looks up at Haldor, giving a small smile. Finally, someone who wasn't Wolfgang OR naive OR quiet.

He grins jokingly. "Popular among the ladies too, mind."

"That's what he thinks." Karie responds. She yawns.

"Tired too, I see? As the old saying goes, "keep the dream alive, go back to sleep." Anything of interest happen while I was away last night?"

[Endgame]

A purple clad wizard walks into the hall, briskly throwing open the doors. He seems to have an air of importance around him, and seems irked as he enters the hall of heroes. he exmaines the questboard, reading the signatures over carefully.

Romulus sits next to the new hero, then turns to him.

"If you honestly joined Heroica in search of blood, you should walk back out that door. There is already one to many traitors and bloodthirsty psychopaths in this hall. They are the ones who get hurt the most. "

"Enjoying your hood, Haldor?"

[Scorpiox]

OOC: We're all at the bar.

"That's what he thinks." Karie responds. She yawns.

Haldor winks.

"Ah, you know me. Who could resist this hair? Bet you suffer from the same kind of problems as me, Karie. With this hair... what can I say? They throw themselves at me."

The nord bursts into laughter, but soon finds himself looking around nervously on far away tables for something to drink.

"Tired? Yeah, but I don't plan on going to bed, got better things to do... like sit here chattin' to you guys. Nobody's going to be waiting for me back in my room anyway."

Romulus sits next to the new hero, then turns to him.

"Enjoying your hood, Haldor?"

Haldor looks sideways at Romulus, eyebrow raised and mouth in a curious expression.

"Beg your pardon, Lycan? You asking if I've been 'enjoying my hood'? Forgive me if I consider my answer carefully to that one."

[TheBoyWonder]

"Your scarlet hood. I believe it was you I sold it to. "

[Scorpiox]

"Your scarlet hood. I believe it was you I sold it to. "

"Ahhhh... of course that's what you meant. Yeah, I knew that's what you meant all along."

There is a brief moment of awkward silence.

"Haven't had a chance to give it a roll yet, but it looks to be a nice bit of kit."

[Tachyon]

Mizuki nibbles at her cake and watches people talk at the bar. Placing coins at the bar, she orders a pot of tea.

Johon walks back into the hall and sees some of his friends sitting at a large table. They seemed to be immersed in conversation and decides to join in.

"Hello companions, I see you all seem to have started conversation. So how is everyone today?"

[Tachyon]

Seeing Johon, Mizuki draws out her dagger and walks into the shadows.

Mizuki nibbles at her cake and watches people talk at the bar. Placing coins at the bar, she orders a pot of tea.

Karie continues to stare at the woman's plate. She then notices the barmaid come over with a pot of tea.

"Lucky..." Karie mutters under her breath.

Johon walks back into the hall and sees some of his friends sitting at a large table. They seemed to be immersed in conversation and decides to join in.

"Hello companions, I see you all seem to have started conversation. So how is everyone today?"

"Sleepy at best. Feel free to sit somewhere at the bar. There's enough room."

Seeing Johon, Mizuki draws out her dagger and walks into the shadows.

Karie notices the girl sitting beside her disappear suddenly, her tea pot still sitting on the counter.

"Waste not, want not." She shrugs as she slides the tea pot over and pours herself a cup.

"There's no milk or cream in this, right?" She asks the barkeep, a hint of worry in her voice.

Romulus sees Mizuki appear, then swiftly dissappear when Johon appears.

" It served me well, the power increase can be the difference sometimes."

Seeing Johon sit down, Romulus asks "How has questing been treating you all?"

As Drake finished chugging a barrel of fine wine from some France-like place he'd never heard of, he briefly saw a mysterious figure immerse itself into the shadows.

"Odd. I've never seen somebody leave tea out to hide when Karie is right next to it. Unless it was another professional rogue who would probably steal it back anyway." Drake wondered in amusement.

"Then again, I don't think I've seen anybody with tea in here before. Must be a new thing around here, which comes as no surprise seeing how it took 154 years to get to my village since it was invented. I'd think I'll pick some up later. I haven't tried the stuff since I was 16 and working in a farm."

Johon is surprised to see some of the founders of Heroica announce the lottery and decides to sign up.

"Hmm.. it seems like only a month has passed. Anyone else interested in signing up?"

[Captain Settle]

"I've already signed up. I doubt I'll win, but its worth a shot!"

[Scorpiox]

Haldor yawns, again.

"Well, thank you for the fascinating conversation, comrades..." He adds sarcastically. "But I've got better things to do. Well, different things at least." The nord rises to his feet and heads across the hall towards the questboard. One of the entries catches his eye - Something about overthrowing a tyrant and helping rebels into his palace. That sounds like a fine enough mission, although Haldor would have to be careful about which side he chose after what happened in Haddon. Lazily, he signs his name for Quest #80: Sic Semper Tyrannis.

Romulus looks at the signups. Today was the day they would find out if he was chosen. He hoped he was. After the chaos in Charis, this was his chance to add onto the victory in Luosh.

But this was different. Romulus knew he had to think carefully. Politicians and generals are sneaky people, prone to constant attempts to out do each other for power.

An armored soldier with a dark red cape walks into the hall.

"Ave. Heroes who are chosen are:"

Romulus nods. Having seen Mizuki in battle, he knew they had some battle prowess, and the shaman and hunter looked powerful enough.

Karie watches as people get up from the bar as new quests shove off, trying to drink the tea. She felt bored. The hall was quiet, and nothing was going on. She felt cooped up inside the hall.

"Ring, ding-a-ling, someone call?"

Karie sat up to see the cleric she saved from two nights ago, giving a sleepy smile.

"So, Masson's in need of some help, I presume?"

"Yeah, with the move. He's getting there, and he's looking for an extra hand and was wondering if you'd help him out. Just about everyone else but himself and Charity are busy at the moment."

"I could give a hand. I got nothing better to do around here."

"Good, then throw this on."

The cleric tossed Karie a lump of clothes which she instantly recognized as her Syndicate uniform.

"Wait, how did you get this?"

"I broke into your house. It wasn't too hard, really."

Karie didn't know what to say. She just looked at her uniform and shrugged.

"So long as my house is locked as of now and you didn't steal anything, alright, fine. Lets go, we got stuff to do."

Karie and the cleric walked downstairs to the washroom. After a few minutes she walked back out with her new clothes in a small bag and her Syndicate garbs on.

"Masson really ought to find a tailor to make these more summer appropriate. And why am I wearing this?"

"He doesn't want people to catch on who his members are as we move out or are on the street, especially you. And like I said, wait till winter, then the whole ensemble becomes a gift from heaven."

Karie follows the cleric out of the hall at a brisk pace, and out into Eubric.

"Here, help me move this crate into the hallway."

Karie and Masson pick up the crate full of tools and move it into the hall outside of Masson's lab. The Syndicate banners had been taken down and crates scattered about the space. The cleric sits on on top of a crate, playing solitaire.

"Looks like exhausting work, if I do say so."

"Yeah, I heard playing cards can be really hard." The cleric shrugs and continues to play as Masson turns to Karie.

"Well, at least most of my personal possessions are out of here..." Masson looks back, looking discontent. "Karie, I lost the picture, the one of my aunt, uncle, me and my cousin. I must have gone missing during the move or one of your allies must have taken it." Masson takes a moment before continuing. "Ah well, c'est la vie. We have more things to sort through."

"Masson, wait. I... well here." Karie looks through her various items and pulls out the photo. She wasn't used to such physical labor, yet she considered herself quite the sprinter. "I kept it in case the worst happened. I thought if anything, at least someone should remember your story. So here, take it back." Karie returned the photo to Masson. He looked it over wistfully.

"Thank you, Karie." He puts it in his robes and rubs his hands, noticing Karie's panting. "Are, uh... you alright? We could take a break?"

"Yeah. A break would be nice."

[Endgame]

Goldraum once again enters the hall, seemingly in more of a rush than last time. He mutters under his breath, briskly making his way to the questboard.

"Hmmph... One appears to be in very good audience with the Ziegfrieds, and the other is an ether user, at any rate... The last has no magical abilities to speak of, but I suppose some muscle may be helpful."

Goldraum takes out a quill pen, seemingly generating ink out of nowehre. he scrawls on the quest sheet, writing a note on the quest board.

Karie and Masson walk to the entrance of the Syndicate hideout's secret entrance, Karie looking particularily beat.

"So your off again, I see? Some new job come up?"

"One usually does. Apparently these Ziegfried fellows need some work done or something, and it's likely I'll get picked."

"Hmm. Well, your work was appreciated, Karie. Thanks. It was nice to have a bit of company to assist me."

"It was nothing really, just doing what I do. If you need anything else Masson-"

"I know Karie. You're almost always free, correct?"

"Something like that, sure. Well, it was nice seeing you, Masson." She gives him a hug, and then heads up the ladder.

"Karie, I was wondering if... after you get back you wanted to go out... for dinner or something?" Masson sounded a little nervous. Karie gave him a grin.

"Sure, sounds like a plan. I'll see you in a bit." With that, she put her hood back on and climbed up the ladder.
