Having emerged victorious from his recent quest, a proud Tomas returns to Heroica Hall and goes directly to the quest board in search of new adventures. "Well, I'll sign up for Quest #4: Taming the Lions, and while those Hinckwells sound like they need a party of knights to explore the cave, it's always nice to have a healer, so I'll also sign up for Quest #5: Cave Sounds." Tomas then walks out to the marketplace to see if anything he picked up on the farm will be worth money.

Chris sighs stretching his tired limbs, "It's good to be back home isn't it boy" he said petting sir Fredskins.

"Hmm" he mumbled looking at the quest board, He wrote his name under Quest #4 taming the lions.

I really hope I don't deprive some new adventurer his chance to go questing.

En Sabah Nur signs his name to both Quest #4: Taming the Lions and Quest #5: Cave Sounds as he has no allegience to either faction before returning to his doodles...

"So, Adventurers, how did your Quest go?" Tarn asks, eager to hear tales of daring.

Quite well, really. We had some trouble with those Direwolves, and we couldn't manage to land any strings of hits for a quick kill with the Scarecrow, but then we hit an incredible lucky streak with the Battle Ants. Two fields were ruined, which was a bit disappointing, especially after we did so well navigating the Maze, but when all's said and done, we got a pretty good reward out of it.

Jess walked into Heroica Hall after her jaunt at the marketplace. Jess looked at the questboard, but decided against signing up for either, even though Quest #5: Cave Sounds looked really cool.

Jess saw her friends sitting at that magical table in the corner, and pulled up a chair of the endless supply of chairs. Jess grinned at Tarn, and began to recount her experiences of the quest.

"Our quest went well," Jess said, wrapping up her story. "I got quite a bit of loot, and I ended up with enough money to upgrade Blohdhurm!"

Jess unsheathed the sword, and laid it on the table.

"It's very fine craftsmanship, that Anwyl is a genius," a very satisfied Jess proclaimed.

"I like caves! They're nice and cool in the summertime."

When is summer here, again? I was under the impression that winter was coming.

<out of character>I assume that since Heroica is based on European medieval life that Eubric is located in the Northern Hemisphere, where summer just passed.</out of character>

Tarn smiled at Jess and the others, glad that these Adventurers were chatting. "A successful Quest is always good, I think it would have been nigh impossible for you to save every field."

He admired Jess, and her sword. "Oh that is indeed fine craftmanship! You will smite many foes with this blade!" he said.

An aura of excitement seemed to pervade Heroica Hall as Skrall the ex-highwayogre entered, doing his best not to knock his head on the door frame as he had several times previous.

"Looks like some of the lot from the farm have returned," Skrall thought to himself after noticing the ranger he had heard called Bartholomew and the cleric Thomas.

As Skrall passed the quest board he noticed that two new notices had been posted. After pondering for a little bit on the nature of the quests Skrall pain stakingly scrawled his name under both Quest #4: Taming the Lions and Quest #5: Cave Sounds in hopes that he might be able to secure a position with at least one of the parties.

Skrall trudged up the stairs to the bar and did his best to find a seat. He scooted past the group that had gathered around the one-eyed ranger taking care not to skewer himself upon a newcomers pole-axe. He noticed the dark mage En Sabah Nur and invited him over for a drink.

"Well my friend, it seems like the time to prove our mettle is fast approachin'. By the way, I heard you got in to a bit of a scrap involving some local lowlife, I can see yar still alive and kickin'. I take it your accosters weren't so lucky?"

Thormanil ponders for a moment at the quest board, then begins talking to himself, obviously unaware that normal folk tend to turn a wary eye towards those who converse with themselves

Thormanil: "Well, hrm. I ain't much of one for tip-toe'ing around, so 'infiltrating' might have to take a backseat to 'barreling through anyone who tries to keep me out'... but I could sure as heck do with a fancy new set of axes... and those Shadeaux sure do pay well! On the other hand, the Hinckwells sound like they've got a lot of something-or-others that need a good bashing, and who would I be to deny 'em that?! Ha ha! I'd sure like to help out with the bandit issue, but in the interest of having *something* to do, I'll sign up for both, just in case!"

He scribbles "THORM" in big letters on the lists of both Quest #4: Taming the Lions and Quest #5: Cave Sounds, then sidles over to the crowded tables to listen to the tales of adventure now being tossed around jovially.

Haldor listens to Mister Docken's tale.

"It is wonderfull that you were successful, I must say, after the Scarecrow's battle, I feared that your time would run out."

Haldor admires Jess' sword.

"That is an interesting blade there Miss, It looks like it would be very dangerous in a conflict. I hope to fight alongside you, and both our weapons will vanquish evil."

Henry listens interestedly to the stories of the returned heroes. It seems they have been lucky with the third field, hitting no bomb and then winning after one turn.

He hears the Ranger named Elgar asking people if they want to play darts.

"Oh, with pleasure", he answers. "I used to be good at throwing sharp things. As long as no bows are used, I should be able to win." He grins toothfully, while he takes a dart.

Finished at the library, having satisfied her curiosity of the mountains on the horizon through a time looking at the maps, Tesni walked into Heroica Hall, spying her friends in the corner she made her way to them, passing by the quest board. "These quests look very good, but I do not wish to take a spot from some new hero, eager to prove themselves."

She reached the table, "Hail friends!"

Posted

"Greetings, Tesni! Here, take the seat by me," Jess said, excited to see her friend. "Now what's this nonsense about taking a spot from a new hero? I'm sure that both quest could use a strong fighter such as yourself. Those strangers sound menacing, and those sounds could probably use a good bashing with Cryfder!"

Posted

Tesni smiled broadly. "Ah well then Jess, if you think one such as myself would be a help, I suppose I could sign up for Quest #5: Cave Sounds, I'm no leader mark you." She took a deep draught of her ale. "Now,I wonder how Eric is doing?"

Tesni took stock of the crowd in the hall, some faces she recalled from the beginning, before she had set off on the quest, while others were new to her. "Lots of new comers," she gestured with an eating knife, gratefully accepting a plate from the server who had just walked through. "Also, it seems we were the first to meet with success."
