"Look, Sorrow... god, I'm such an idiot! Look, I'm just worried is all. I managed to lose one person who cared for me to the point he would kill himself for me... but I don't want to see you more hurt than you already are. If there's something you want to talk about, I'll be here. Most of the time."

I can't help but give a guilty chuckle.

"Even after more then a dozen generations, it seems like our bloodline beats ourselves up a lot, huh?"

Karie rolls her eyes sarcastically, a broad smirk running across her face.

"Alright, I suppose I'm equally as guilty as you are when it comes to beating ourselves up."

She took another drink from her glass full of water, the glass as dry as a desert.

"Sorrow, me and Benji started to talk, and he had this weird look on his face when I got up to fight that one legged drunkard. Do you know what's up with that? Particularly if he's got Wolfgang ties?"

[Endgame]

I shrug.

"It is a bit hard not to when you have over four centuries of sins following you, you know? But I'm doing better, and you have plenty of stuff to be proud of too."

"Benji? Only people with strong ties to the Wolfgang become Beast Warriors. He met Kayla. Combining his ties and his encounters, well... I doubt there are too many possibilities."

I cringe.

I shrug.

"It is a bit hard not to when you have over four centuries of sins following you, you know? But I'm doing better, and you have plenty of stuff to be proud of too."

I cringe.

"So you mean... he had the hots for..."

Karie turns back, scanning the saloon for him to no avail. She turns cautiously back to Sorrow, speaking in a hushed voice.

"Okay, real creepy."

"Mreoow?"

[Endgame]

I shrug.

"That's my deduction. Whether or not it's correct, well... I'm not nearly as judgemental anymore. Your sister did... um... get around, from what I've heard."

[Kintobor]

I shrug.

"Oh no, I've heard that too. I suppose they called her the "Cat Burglar" for more than one reason."

Karie wasn't sure of what to do next. It seemed as if a hush had descended upon the hall. Karie could hear cups hitting the tables, not a first, but clearly the activity had died down.

"You ever notice how the moment certain people leave the hall, everyone goes quiet, but the moment they return, it's like someone knocked over a bee's nest? Noisy, and incredibly busy. Often times incredibly angry as well."

[Endgame]

I take another sip of my drink, looking around - observing the silence.

"Yes, I do. It's either dead quiet or audible from Lusoh. No middleground to be found here, it seems. Some people just have that effect.

You ever been one of those people? In general, I suppose." I ask.

[Kintobor]

"As in loud? Yeah. Projection is something I seem to have an innate talent for. Same with my vocals. I'm just somewhat of a loud person. Usually. Ninety five percent of the time."

Karie leans back on her chair, Hershey wisely moving her tail away from the teetering seat.

[Endgame]

"I was referring to being the center of attention. You strike me as someone who likes the spotlight - nothing wrong with that, of course.

Just... My "species" led me trying to be quite incognito, I suppose."

[Kintobor]

"Oh, yeah, I suppose I'm sort of like that. I always got a solo back at the cabaret, almost every night. When I wasn't performing a solo, I was usually involved in some other act."

Karie grabs the jug in an attempt to pour herself some more water, but quickly realizes it's empty.

"Well... crud."

[Endgame]

"So you were a singer and an actor once upon a time, huh?"

I look at the empty jug.

"Want me to get more?"

[Kintobor]

"Once upon a time."

Karie responds wistfully. She picked up the jug and the glass.

"Nah, it's okay, I got this."

Karie begins to walk towards the bar, her hands filled with the glass and the jug.

[Endgame]

"Something you'd like to get back into one day, or...?"

[Kintobor]

Karie turns around at Sorrow's question, walking backwards, avoiding all the spills and chairs expertly. She respond's in her usually sarcastic voice.

"With Heroica in the day and the Syndicate in the night, I wish!"

[Endgame]

"Any reason why you left the Show Biz?"

I raise an eyebrow.

"What's the Syndicate, may I ask?"

[Kintobor]

While walking backwards, Karie walks into a table, nearly dropping the jug and the glass. She puts them down, takes a deep breath then walks towards Sorrow, sitting down again and returning to her hushed tone.

"There was... an incident at the club. It's... a little touchy. It happened two years ago but the image is still drilled into my skull. Sorry, but if I'm gonna talk about, it has to be somewhere a little more... private."

"As for the Syndicate, Masson's the head. They're a Town Watch off shot. I simply help out when I can, moving things, looking through the books, that kind of stuff."

Karie tried to make her half lie as convincing as possible, but Sorrow seemed like he was intelligent enough. She hoped he'd but it to rest at that, but it was anyone's guess.

[Endgame]

"I'd be willing to talk to you about it, if you'd want. Sometimes you have to let it out."

I hmmm at Karie's final statement.

"So your boyfriend delegated a perfectly capable hero to the role of the bookkeeper, and the organization simply does errands for the Town Watch?"

[Flare]

Benji had heard the two talking about him, and was relieved when they started talking about something else. 'Old Sorrow knows too much for comfort...' he thought to himself.

Benji started to crawl out from under the table that he had been listening on the conversation from. He waddled as quickly as possible toward the stairs -and the doors out of the Hall... The only thing was the fact that he looked very much like an iguana, only about a meter or so long including the tail. In fact it seems that he was an iguana. Benji wasn't sure how he did that, as his previous transforms were more like a Raptor, 2 and a half meters high. Perhaps it was his survive mechanism, which reminded him... Stop talking to yourself and escape this place! Ha.

[Pyrovisionary]

Sarge listens to Karie and Sorrow talking with disinterest. Eventually he gets bored and goes down to the docks.

[Kintobor]

"I'd be willing to talk to you about it, if you'd want. Sometimes you have to let it out."

I hmmm at Karie's final statement.

"So your boyfriend delegated a perfectly capable hero to the role of the bookkeeper, and the organization simply does errands for the Town Watch?"

"Not right now, at least. It's... more than a little personal..."

Damn it.

"Well, they do some of the stuff the Town Watch can't do. What that entails I'm not entirely sure... I also would be out and about doing stuff like I do with Heroica, but quests often get in the way, you know. So I usually don't have time to assist in some of the other things that go on in the city."

[Flare]

Benji hops down the stairs in his newly found iguana-form, and mentally high fived himself as he made it all the way down to the main doors without garnering Karie or Sorrow's suspicions.

The only problem was, as a short lizard, there was no way he could easily get out without turning into human form. 'Crud' he muttered quietly in iguana language.

He tried slamming his body into the door a couple times but to no avail, the door wouldn't open. He slunk into the corner thinking for a plan of action.

[Kintobor]

Hershey watches the iguana run it's way across the floor and down the stairs. She begins to follow him and watches him attempt to open the door.

"Mreeeow. Mreooow?<Hey. You look a little lost. The name's Hershey. Care to share yours, Mr. Iguana?>"

She sits down in front of the doors, her tail sweeping across the floor.

[Endgame]

I sigh.

"Well, Karie, we are family. If you want to talk it out, to be afraid... I have some stuff I'd like to get off my chest too, if you;re willing to listen."

I turn away as I hear the slight thumping on the door. An iguana bashes its head in repeatedly. He scurries over to the corned, seemingly dejected. Perhaps he was just a critter looking for a way out of the hall?
