Sisco Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Jess accepted the plate of beef a server had offered her. Jess looked around at Tesni's prompting, and marveled at all the new faces. "Indeed, there are quite a few new faces around here. Should make for some interesting stories later!" Thinking about what all the other heroes were wanting, Jess said "It's nice, being a veteran of a successful quest, isn't it? I do believe that we have some admirers!" Quote
Peppermint_M Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 "Yes, I supppose we do! A little different to when I first walked in here and scared everyone!" Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Did you guys see the map Farmer Donauld sent us? It's a whole lot simpler that I thought. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 "Now if only we had found it!" Tesni took a look at the map, "Well, we did very well finding it, even if it was hard to beat!" Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 "Now if only we had found it!" Tesni took a look at the map, "Well, we did very well finding it, even if it was hard to beat!" That we did. I suppose an easy enemy to go inside the maze that we navigated so easily would have been too much to ask of god. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 "Aye, the gods like to test our strength, to see if we are able to look after this world." Quote
Sisco Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 "Now that's a thing we could have found useful! We navigated pretty well without it, though," Jess said, laughing. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I walk back to the Quest Board. Quest 4 sounds stupendously awesome and incredible ( ), but I suppose it can't hurt to sign up for Quest 5. Quote
Sisco Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 "Hm. Even though Quest 5 sounds absolutely stunning with that amazing-sounding cave, I'll go ahead and sign up for Quest 4." Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Quest 4 is put on by someone who's Dearly Beloved. It must be more awesome that Quest 5. Quote
Sisco Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 "The Hinckwells may not be dearly beloved, but at least they're pretty honest, unlike those Shadeaux I'm hoping to work for." Quote
Rumble Strike Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 "I'm sure such striking maidens of battle will set many hearts ablaze, your enemies in fear and allies in wonder!" spoke Tarn earnestly, clearly awestruck in the presence of Tesni and Jess. "I very much hope to be selected with you on a Quest!" Quote
Jebediahs Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 "Well my friend, it seems like the time to prove our mettle is fast approachin'. By the way, I heard you got in to a bit of a scrap involving some local lowlife, I can see yar still alive and kickin'. I take it your accosters weren't so lucky?" Indeed, we shall fair well no matter what challenge we undertake. Especially if these over-talkative whelps who're used to sleeping in inns and comfy beds every night can succeed. Nur peers around the 'Hall. I hadn't realized news of my scuffle had traveled so fast. They were merely boys pulling a ruse I myself have done many times in my youth. After a small display of my power I sent them on their way unharmed...for the most part. Perhaps we'll be fortunate enough to adventure with one of the more accomplished fighters as their experience and battle prowess would increase our chances of success. En Sabah Nur looks to Jess Islanti before he eyes Cryfder. No, too heavy. Nur leers at the Fang Dagger by Tesni's side. Hmmm. I must remember to search for her name on the quest boards. En Sabah Nur grinned. Quote
posades Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Having returned from his stay out in the wilderness, Xander notices the commotion at the Quest Board. Letting the crowd die down some, he walks up and neatly writes his name under both Quest #4: Taming the Lions and Quest #5: Cave Sounds, hoping to make some new friends in the meantime. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 "I agree with ya En Sabah Nur, it would be handy to have one of those experienced chaps around, but I wouldn't want too many of 'em, just enough to give us an edge. Take that elf Rufindel or what ever his name is. Now I'm not much one for elves but he had a look of a born leader 'bout him. I'm sure his party is doing just fine right 'bout now." Skrall noticed his friend's gaze at the female barbarian. "Careful mate, I'd tread lightly 'round that one if I were you, my bet is she could fell a fully armored ogre with that there chopper of hers." Skrall ordered a tankard of ale from the barmaid. He noted a familiar head coming through the hall's doorway, it was the barbarian with the giant hammer. Skrall watched as the barbarian afixed his name to the new quests. "You there my good fella. Why don't you pull up a bench and join us," Skrall hollered down from the bar area. He was in a good mood, at last he'd be able to refresh his measly purse and still have enough even to send home, perhaps the future was looking bright after all. Quote

He was in a good mood, at last he'd be able to refresh his measly purse and still have enough even to send home, perhaps the future was looking bright after all. Xander heard a strange voice calling to him and turned towards the sound. To his amazement it was not a human but a beast. He had grown accustomed to non-human kinds, but this one was different. Nevertheless, he decided to address him and the group seated close by. On his way over to the table, he politely called to the barmaid: "I'd be much obliged to have a glass of water. Send it the way of the tan beast sitting in the corner over there if you don't mind." Gently lifting a seat from a nearby table, he set it down near a shady looking mage with a black cap. He glanced around the table and noticed several radiant ladies and some not-so-radiant others; he made eye contact with the beast and proceeded to speak: "Thank you for inviting me over here, the name's Xander. I come from a place where nature and people are one, so this giant hall is a bit intimidating for me. I appreciate the hospitality; do all of you have names? I'm not one for much talking, but I'll gladly listen." He nimbly strapped the large hammer to his back, forgetting it might get in the way of others. A lone warrior through training, he would have to learn the virtue of teamwork -- sooner rather than later. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) "Well met Xander, the name's Skrall, no fancy shmancy title or what have ya, just Skrall plain and simple." Skrall proceeded to pull out his ram horn pipe and light its sour smelling contents. He puffed a few draughts on his pipe and again adressed the barbarian. "I'm a highway-ogre by trade, you know the bit "Steal from the rich an' give to the poor orc folk!" and all that. I come from the southern lands, the youngest amoung my siblin's. We grew up all ways fleein' from the oppression that people down there had 'gainst my kind. Well my older brothers joined the wacked out Orc Liberation political movement, an' my other siblin's are attendin' some university takin' night classes. So I decided to do my part and provide for the family by removin' more priviledged folks from some of there surplus shall we say. To keep a long story short though, the highway business has slowed down and so here I am to try and earn an honest livin' by heroin'." Edited September 11, 2011 by Waterbrick Down Quote
Jebediahs Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 En Sabah Nur chuckled. Your story makes me smile every time I hear it, Skrall. Ogres breaking down the stereotypical boundaries one night class at a time. Nur turned to the barbarian. My name is En Sabah Nur. I grew up theiving among orcs but am working on changing my ways. Impressive hammer ye have there. Of course I prefer a sharp dagger. Keeps things up close and personal. Slips neatly between ribs. Also nice for separating people from their coin purses... Xander shifted in his seat. It seems you've joined a couple of scoundrels. No worries friend, we're all heroes here. En Sabah Nur grinned. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) "Aye, it amazes me how many of the rogues around here act more like well to do knights and such, but ah well perhaps tis all for the best. If I don't want people yellin' monster every time I walk through the door then I guess the least I can do is accept a noble rouge once in a while," Skrall waved the barmaid over and ordered a leg of mutton. "So my good chap how came you by such a stout weapon as that there hammer? And what realm was it ya say ya hailed from?" Edited September 11, 2011 by Waterbrick Down Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 "Ya' know friend," Skrall commented to En Sabeh Nur, "speakin' of daggers I heard that one-eyed ranger over there was lookin' at sellin' his wolf's tooth blade if yar interested." Quote
Jebediahs Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I'm afraid my purse is full of coin unaccepted in these lands. I've yet to amass enough of the native gold to make such a purchase. Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 The hall was bustling with activity, it looks like the promise of new quests and some of the heroes returning fro me a quest as made everyone else come out. Elgar sat down to have bacon and egg for breakfast. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Tesni awoke with a strange *sknurk* noise as her head tipped forward, she hadn't been aware of falling asleep at the table 'Ah, familiar,' she thought, rubbing her sore neck. After yesterdays questing and the tough battles, sleep was not unexpected. There were a few heroes, eagerly awaiting a quest, she stood up and requested a plate of food, whatever meal was serving now would be greatly appreciated. Noticing the absence of her friends, Tesni sat back at the table. Someone might come in, or ask for a tale of battle or two. Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Hearing the commotion around the board, Thothwick left Benji to his Sundae to sign up for both Quest #4: Taming the Lions and Quest #5: Cave Sounds. Thothwick looked around at the other hopefuls. "Just wish there was enough room for all, hm?" Quote
Rumble Strike Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Aware that following the Barbarian woman around like a puppy would not look too good to his fellow would-be Adventurers, Tarn left the table Tesni was sleeping at and joined the huge Ogre and the others at another table. "Hail Adventurers!" he said with a grin, signalling the Orcish server for a round of beers. Quote
