Tarn (who had clearly re-entered the hall some time previously and not just appeared suddenly to make a trade) waved his Opal in front of Monk Pretzel. "Before you leave for the fields, I will take 75 gold for this Opal."

Benji turns to Hoke after looking annoyed at the chosen heroes for the fields. "Seems they're not wanting you or me, eh."

"It is what it is," Hoke says with a shrug.

"You know, some say ones sins can be removed by just lending unto the Lord what cost you something." :look: I suggest, looking at the Medal of Glory.

I shake Hoke's hand.

"Pretzel, Monk Pretzel. Pleased to make your acquaintance. 'Tis unfortunate that you are not on our party to the Fields of Glory. We could have used someone such as yourself. Knight, am I right? Fine shield there. I should like to purchase one such as that, but I have not the coin."

"I've spent much time on this shield. It has proven a valuable asset time and time again."

Thalion heard the ogre's question and twitched out of his meditation, looking for the person who uttered the words. When he realized who it was, he stood up, and walked slowly towards the ogre.

He bowed as he greeted the hero. "Greetings master ogre! My name is Thalion Dwinals, and I am looking for one. Do you have one for sale or trade?"

"Good day master Dwinlas. I'm lookin' at expandin' my gem collection and seem to be missin' a diamond, saphire, and garnet. I'd be willin' to trade fer one or even put down hard metal. The name's Skrall by the way." The ogre flashed a slight smile before bringing out his topaz for the elf's inspection. Edited by Waterbrick Down

"A pleasure to meet you master Skrall!" Thalion paused, "Hmmm... As it happens, I am looking to complete my gem collection too, so trading one for topaz, only to buy it again sometime later seems a little redundant... Would you be willing to sell it?"

"Thank you, lad! Take." I hand Tarn 75 Gold and accept his Opal.

"I can't say I've seen you around. Are you a newcomer to the hall?

...Hmm...the armour that you wear would suggest otherwise though."

"It is what it is," Hoke says with a shrug.

"I've spent much time on this shield. It has proven a valuable asset time and time again."

"I can only imagine. I would ask if I could borrow it for our short stint in the Fields, but I know if I had such a shield I would have a hard time letting it out of my sight," I chuckle.

"And I would politely refuse. It's much more appreciated when you earn it," Hoke says with a wink.

"Well if the gem's cut and clarity pleases ya, I think I could part with it fer, shall we say 75 Gold."

"Aye, that it does; it looks clear and nicely cut and it should fit nicely with the rest of them... 75 gold for it is truly a fair deal." Thalion takes out 75 gold coins and hands them to Skrall. "Shall we finalize the deal with a drink?" Thalion smiles and shows the ogre to the empty table nearby. "As there are no quests for now, mind telling me a bit about yourself master Skrall!? If I am not mistaken, you were already a prat of Heroica when I first got to Eubric..."

"Of course," I say knowledgeably, before second-looking.

What the devil?

I then see the massive beast discussing with a wrapped up human.

Don't tell me that they're accepting ogres as heroes now! What is the world coming to?

Hybros looked at his name under the party chosen to fight in the Fields of Glory. "Party Leader again..." he mumbled. At least Guts wouldn't be there this time to scrutinize his orders. "Clerics last... knights first... or should I go first? Hmm..." As he debated the battle order in his head, he noticed that he didn't recognize any of the other heroes' names on the list. He looked around, clueless as to what they might look like.

I cast a glance at the list myself.

Hmm...the druid is there again.

I look around the hall to see if I can spy him somewhere.

The other names are unfamiliar to me and rather strange-sounding to.

Stigveladi must be the dwarf.

I turn to Hoke again.

"So, Ablesword, fine name by the way, have you been a hero from some time? It would certainly seem so, if that shield were anything to go by. Where have your quests taken you so far?"

"For some time, yes. I feel like I have been all over the world, yet I know I have one seen a glimpse of it. Most of that time was chasing after a witch who believed she could tame a god of chaos. I had never heard of anything so asinine in my entire life."

"A witch, taming God! I applaud the effort it must have taken, while mocking the idea. 'Asinine' a worthy expression to be sure. Never trust those witches, I say. They only spell trouble. About this one, I assume by your use of past tenses that your chase ended successfully?"

"It would seem that we defeated her."

The cloaked figure rose from his chair once more. Using his grey walking stick to bring him towards the mass of people gathering to leave. "I think I'll pass by the market on my way there, Hybros," The Druid stated to the Leader, despite never becoming acquainted with the individual. A grey-brown bat landed on his shoulder, and crawled underneath the fabric as he exited the hallowed hall.

"Well if you're an elf that can hold his liquor, then I'll gladly drink with ya." The ogre raises his tankard and downs its contents as he follows Thalion to the table.

"Yes, I've been here goin' on two years or so now. Place hasn't changed that much, a few new faces here and there, but the city seems to be continuing in the downward spiral it always has, no matter the amount of heroing the folks in this place do." Skrall ordered another ale. "Started here mainly lookin' to pay off a few debts and this was one of the few establishments around with a pretty much open door hirin' policy. So, got here, ran a few errands for the town watch and the Hinckwells, nothin' major. Next set of jobs, ended up runnin' into a gal named Wren. I'm sure ya've heard of her and her exploits from those around here. Well we met in Haddon, and boy did she start some ruckus there. Right nut job she was. Ended up chasin' her down near half the world from the old kingdoms all the way over to Dastan until we finally finished things off proper down below this very buildin'. Nasty business that was..." Skrall's voice trailed, a vague expression fixed on his face as he gazed into empty space.

Thalion sipped the usual glass of wine as he listened to Skrall, "Quite a journey... Yes, I have heard of Wren, and that she caused a lot of troubles. And did I hear you correctly, you said you finished her down below this building? What do you mean by that? On the very first quest, after I came here, a large group of heroes and I had the opportunity to venture below the city, and what we found there was... disturbing... A great temple, devoted to demons, completely underground. I did come here to learn of the world, to explore and see new places, but that - I did not expect..."

"Yep, had to remove the floorboards and everything, was quite the construction project. Bet Scheherazade wasn't too happy about that bit, but neither would I if I had a temple of Zoot buried right under my basement. Was this place ya visited all red and black with spikes stickin' out of it like a regular spinyhog?"

"I saw them while you were handling your other equipment. I didn't mean to... spy on you. I'll give you five hundred gold, for both of them. An outrageous sum, but there you go."

"Alright then, that is good gold." Tesni handed over the stones.
