"Yep, had to remove the floorboards and everything, was quite the construction project. Bet Scheherazade wasn't too happy about that bit, but neither would I if I had a temple of Zoot buried right under my basement. Was this place ya visited all red and black with spikes stickin' out of it like a regular spinyhog?"

Thalion nodded, "Yes, that's it! An eerie looking place... Not to mention the undead army guarding it, led by the demon Mephisto. But I thought it was sealed after we had defeated them. Guess I was wrong..."

"Nay, the place was quite empty when we got to it, seems like Wren decided to make that her headquarters of sorts, that's all. Anything new and excitin' been posted as of late?"

Skrall made his way down to the quest board.

"Hmmm... No idea what this syndicate is and why they'd be wanting to hire heroes who they had a run in with before, but gold is gold." Skrall signed up for Quest 86.

Returning to the table, Skrall inquired of Thalion, "Ever heard of the Syndicate?"

"Never heard of it. No wait! I think I remember something about a Stealer and syndicate being the topic of discussion here in the Hall. Maybe there was something posted on the quest board about it, but I wasn't here and it was some time ago..."

A man clad in a gold mask strolls into the hall, whistling a merry tune. In contrast to his jovial demeanor is the massive corseque slung across his shoulder, glistening. He shuffles over to the questboard, taking a look at the notice he had pinned up.

"Huh. Guess I'll push the sign-ups back a little bit... Maybe get one or two more heroes."

With that, Octavyn exits the hall the same way he entered - whistling.

The sign-ups for Gaiden have been pushed back to October 28th!

"Hmmm, well the pitch sounded like they had had a run in with heroes before." Skrall's eyes fell on the man in the mask as he exited the hall, "Look it there Thalion, a regular ol' follower of Pseudos all the way here in Eubric."

"Excuse me there, but may I inquire as to how long this quest will be?"

Octavyn spins on his heel, addressing Hoke.

"Ah, hello! I am Octavyn, at your service.

Length? I don't imagine it'll be a long assignment at all. Perhaps a single night (three to four weeks max) tops?"

A stout warrior slowly opens the gates to Heroica Hall. Not making himself noticed he continues along the hardwood path toward the quest log. He carried an iron halberd across his back, and unlike most of the hero's here, he was dressed in full combat gear. He walked with purpose. His gait was forceful. Slowly heads turned and looked upon the glory that was...

Thalion nodded, "I agree, it sounded they had some experience with heroes." He drank his wine, until Skrall pointed him towards the man with mask, "Truly? A follower of Pseudos!? I haven't seen one in all my years..." He studied the man before speaking again, "I dont know much about Pseudos, and even less about his followers, but that guy looks a bit strange... I cant explain why..." He looked at his glass, now empty, "I'll get us another drink; same for you?"

Johon walks over to talk to the new hero. From the outside, it appeared another knight had joined the hall.

"welcome to the hall. I'm Johon, and your name is...?"

Baradock nodded his head in Johon's direction, acknowledging him, but not quite answering his inquiry. He gestured to the hilt of his halberd, which had a word crudely etched with a blade; 'Baradock'.

(OOC: He chose not to speak, he vowed to silence once his fiancé died in Konatar.)

"Gladly." Skrall handed his tankard over. "So how did ya come to Heroica, master Thalion. Fame, glory, thirst for adventure and danger?"

The gold-clan Syndicate admin seems to take note of all of the glances and whispers, still not having made his way out of the hall, sidetracked by Hoke. He manages to pick out a few words and phrases from some conversations, mention of Psuedos among them.

After becoming aquainted with Johon, Baradock politely sidesteps him and starts towards the quest log, many a hero were already there. He found one quest that particularly sparked his interest. He tore it down and used it to sight out the quest giver. After looking for atleast half an hour he saw a shrouded man, his cloak made it impossible to guess who he was. It was walking towards the exit when Baradock grasped his shoulder.

He pulled out the quest sign and held it infront of him, comparing the description on the flyer to the actual person. Content with the comparisons, Bardock pointed to the sign up section as to say, "Can I still sign up for Quest #86: Gaiden" even though there were obviously more than enough hero's signed up.

Octavyn seems to run several possibilities in his head before devising a stock phrase he could use.

PDNmfNS.png

"You can sign-up for any quest that is posted.

...At least, I think that is what you're asking, right? Nod is yes, head shake is no."

A warm welcome to the world of Heroica, Cryos (and Baradock!)

"In that case, then you simply have to write your name boldly on the quest slip. Like so!"

Octavyn grabs an ink quill, scrawling a sentence on his own quest pitch:

"Octavyn signs up for Quest #86: Gaiden"

"Whenever you want to come along for a quest, you simply have to phrase it like that - otherwise, a lot of the quest givers and whatnot won't consider it an official signature."

Octavyn finally makes his way out of the door... Only to come back in on nightfall.

PDNmfNS.png

"Urgh, scheduling is most definitely not my strong suit."

Pulling out a quill and practically slashing over the old date on the quest slip, octavyn writes something new on the quest board:

Sign-ups have been postponed to November 1st.

-Syndicate Admin Octavyn (All complaints can be directed towards my sole superior. (...On second thought, don't.))

The raider took a large swig of his wine, and said, to no one in particular, but audibly: "So who in their right mind would go help a group that calls themselves the 'syndicate' that can't even organize a solid date for them to start on? Clearly their problem is not very urgent... "

Hoke looked sidelong at the scruffy looking raider and let a slight chuckle.
