Hoping he will be back in time if he is selected for the Marketplace quest, Hoke signs up for Quests 88, 89 and 90.

Thormanil pokes his head into the Hall and, noticing that the quest board is filled with listings, strides over, Arx perched on his shoulder. Thormanil perused the listings, eventually settling on the first.

"A simple investigation", he thought to himself, "this should be perfect." He looked at the tiny hatchling on his shoulder. "I don't wanna risk this li'l guy yet, not til I get a chance to know him first."

As Thormanil signed his name under Quest #88, Arx puffed his chest and let out a snort, as if to say he believed he could handle conflict. Thormanil didn't seem to notice it; he was too busy seeing who else had signed up.

"Mmm.. lotta names I don't recog--wait, Althior? Didn't I carry him back after that mess with the Ma'ari? I'd thought he was a goner..." Thormanil began to search around the Hall for the mage.

Heckz sees Benji in the hall and hides before the wereanimal touches him with his claws.

Thormanil realizes he made a mistake and removes his name from #88, then signs again under #87.

"Aye, Benji, meet Arx."

Johon resigns up for quest 87.

Thothwick sips a small sherry, whilst Hoptet gulps his mead.

"Ah... that hits the spot!"

Dyric then moved upstairs to join Thothwick.

It's happening again.

"Mr. Rone? Uh, please, take a seat. What appears to be the matter?"

Guts noticed Thotwick back, he walked up to the metasimian, and asked: "So how did it go with Byblos?"

"Ah, Mr. Holla, too. I am popular! Alas, I've no idea. I was away on another Quest, Hoptet was one of the Heroes not picked to go, but Byblos was. Oh, Mr. Rone, I don't believe you've had the pleasure, please, may I introduce Hoptet."

"Hello Rone! Byblos go off on his Quest. Witch and Ranger Docken go with him, as did Nix, and another magic user, with red fur."

"So, Mr. Holla, as you can see, my cousin is trapped with mixed company."

"Hm... I... See... You must be talking about Gibbin, the lad's alright. Too clever for his own good, but not as clever as he thinks he is. Him, Docken and Nyx will make sure Byblos is fine, you have nothing to worry about."

Guts once again nodded at Hoptet and Dyric.

The raider let out a small chuckle, and added: "I don't suppose you would describe me as furless, Hoptet?"

"Hm... I... See... You must be talking about Gibbin, the lad's alright. Too clever for his own good, but not as clever as he thinks he is. Him, Docken and Nyx will make sure Byblos is fine, you have nothing to worry about."

"I hope so, though the less said about 'Gibbin' the better."

The raider let out a small chuckle, and added: "I don't suppose you would describe me as furless, Hoptet?"

"Your fur is... uh," Hoptet turns to Thothwick, for help with translation. "[Non-existent]!"

"Thinning."

Avalanche also resigns up for Quest#87

"Do you know anything of free-running? I am trying to learn to run more quickly and efficiently through areas I have passed through. Countless times my opponents have barely escaped confrontation using barricades or other tactics."

I nod pleasantly to Hoptet.

What's the matter is the questboard. Didn't you see? Three quests, same location. You know full well what happened last time we saw that.

[Flare]

"Aye, Benji, meet Arx."

"Heh, the cute feller reminds me of myself." Benji stopped, awkwardly, not remembering if he had informed Thormanil about his shapeshifting abilities... 'man ny memory is getting bad...'

"Can he... do any tricks?"

"Your fur is... uh," Hoptet turns to Thothwick, for help with translation. "[Non-existent]!"

"Thinning."

"No need to be polite, heh. I shave my head. Tell you what, spending years with your head wrapped in dark cloth doesn't do your hair any favours. Hm. This Baltarok thing. Seems like a disaster waiting to happen. If I understand it right, the first two have two completely different interests, and the presence of the third group will complicate matters even further. If I understand right. On the journey to Dastan some 'heroes' thought it would be a good idea to be attacking each other. This shouldn't happen again."

"Tricks, huh? Iunno, Arx, what've you got up yer sleeve?"

Arx curls around Thormy's shoulders, only peeking out from behind him to eye up Benji. It would seem his bravery was limited to private encounters.

"Hah, li'l guy's scared. I'd be too, truthfully. Lotsa ruffians ten times yer size, and he can't even spit a flame yet!"

Yet again, Arx lets loose a snort with indignation, though this time a small cloud puffs from his nostrils.

[Flare]

"Heh, he's a nice feller, I bet he'll be less shy when he's grown up a little." Benji puts his hand up to Arx's snout, and smiles a little. Owning a dragon would be cool, but a reptile-man owning another reptile seemed a little strange.

Benji decides to speak to Arx in dragon-speak (as Beast Warrior he can do this kinda stuff ) - <"Hello there, my name is Benji. You are Arx, as I understand. Do you like your friend Thormanil?">

Erik emerges from the training room and walks to the questboard.

"Hmm. This quest already has a bunch of people, and these three don't leave for a while. Plenty of time to think about them."

OoC: Quite the heck about time! I hadn't gotten around to this for a long time since my pictures got messed up because of the resizer, and figured it was time to reamke my avatar anyways.

Johon walks out of the hall, and returns about 2 hours later. He had picked up some new clothes, his old had torn multiple times, and he had decided he needed some new, more durable armor.

Perplexed, Thothwick investigates the Quest Board.

"Slightly hyperbolic, perhaps, Mr. Rone does have a point. Something is about to erupt in Baltarok. Hmm? The Town Watch require assistance, again? Seems like I could clear up the trouble here in enough time to be able to move across the sea."

Thothwick signs up for Quest 87, Quest 88, Quest 89 and Quest 90, before returning to his table.

"You appear to be right, Mr. Rone, there are forces at work across the sea. But fret not, it shan't be worse than Dastan; Wren has been forced from this realm. Witches are troublesome creatures, but even she can't wreak havoc from beyond the grave."

As Guts continued speaking, Thothwick started nodding and gently banging the table in agreement.

"Oh, don't remind me; I was the only Hero - the only one - not to take up arms against another hero! I kept on saying we should be rational, but Atramor managed to manipulate every other hero to split up and fight eachother. Nyx, Cronk, Tarn, William, Nerwen, De'kra, everyone, fighting eachother. Someone threw a bomb, and every one of them ended up on the floor, unconscious, with several dead innocent bystanders. A metaphor for Eubric if there ever was one."

Thothwick took another slip of his drink, and calmed slightly. He turned his head to address Dyric.

"I think I may end up retracting my statement, Mr. Rone. Baltarok will be dangerous with or without Wren."

[Scubacarrot]

Guts remained silent, and sipped from a drink that somehow managed to find it's way to the raider.

I re-enter the hall from my latest outing in the Fields of Glory. It was good to be back, but a shame at the same time.

That fight was in the palm of our hands. Why couldn't I secure victory? I wonder.

I had acted on spur of the moment judgement, and I wasn't too pleased with it.

Well there must be a reason.

As I pass the quest board, I take a glance and realize that there are a number of quests hanging there and begging for someone to sign on them.

I take a closer look.

"Well, well, well, Town Watch needs someone to solve a crime for them. Seems like I'll be playing the detective once again. Perhaps they should learn to find more professional detectives on a regular basis instead of the ones they have,"

I sign up for Quest 87: "The Marketplace Mystery".

Dyric merely nods sits in a tense silence with the others for several moments. Eventually, he speaks up, though on a different topic.

I think this quest is the first time I've made clear enemies with another hero.
