Stigveladi comes in the Hall and has a look on the Quest Board. She sees that a new title is been given out. 'I never helped to solve a crime before, but I think I should try.', she thinks while putting her name under Quest 87.

OoC: Sorry Sandy, that we are so late. That wasn't planned.

Hybros returns to the Hall, energized by the swift trip to the Fields of Glory. He notices a quest about to depart, and eagerly signs his name under Quest 87.

The creepy figure in a strange hat returned to the Hall, hopped to the Quest Board and rubbed his chin as he examined the list of heroes that signed up to solve the mystery at the Marketplace.

"Hmmm... Eeny meeny miney moe... This bunch will do."

When the creature left, there were six names on a separate list. There were also instructions to meet Detective Hoples at the Marketplace at dawn.

CHOSEN PARTICIPANTS TO QUEST#87:

~ Thalion Dwinlas, Level 20 2/3 Sorcerer (-obelix-)

~ Heckz Brutenhal, Level 15 Sorcerer (Eric Su)

~ Sorrow, Level 24 1/3 Assassin (Endgame)

~ Avalanche, Level 3 Barbarian (Dragonfire)

~ Monk Pretzel, Level 19 Paladin (Palathadric) *Party Leader*

~ Stigveladi Kötturin, Level 21 1/3 Battle Mage (PsyKater)

QM Note: What a tough choice! I knew a lot of you really wanted to participate on this quest, but I tried to choose people who would be really active and whose characters would really shine on this wacky mission.

~The Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory are open for sign-ups again!~

Just seconds after she has put her name on the list, Stigveladi notices that she is chosen for the quest. 'Seems that noone noticed how unexperienced I am in solving crimes. I will be help anyway I think.'

With that, she rushes out of the Hall again.

Avalanche smiles as he catches sight his name on the list, along with five others. Heckz is there- good to see a familiar face again, and there is a dwarf, a monk, an elf and an undead warrior as well, "Quite a party," thinks Avalanche to himself as he heads off to the Marketplace.

OOC: Are you sure this quest will finish in time for the Baltarok quests?

On his way from the Marketplace, Thalion walked the little known streets and alleys of Eubric and took a lot of time to get to the Hall. When he finally made it, he spotted his name on the list of heroes chosen for the Marketplace quest and, although very happy he sighed, (I just came from the Marketplace...). He looked at the other names on the list, smirked, turned around and walked back to the Marketplace to meet the Detective and the rest of the heroes.

"Bah. Sodding elitist Town Watch bunch of don't-know-what's-good-for-em jerks. What the hell is a detective anyhow... I hope his thing fails and Patricia fires the guy. Pfffh." The raider mumbled.

Guts gave the leaving detective a look that could kill, and then studied the remaining quests on the board. Ji Pei... No... The other quests wouldn't leave for a long while. Oh well. He'd needed to do something to keep busy. He climbed on top of a table, and shouted:

"Listen up. I'm Guts Holla, I am taking on any and all challengers in sparring matches. If you think you have got what it takes to take me on, let me know."

"Crap it." Benji grumbles as he sees that again he was not chosen for an interesting quest.

"Anyone else want to go the fields of glory with me? We can be back in time for Quests 88-90..."

Benji signs up for the Unlimited Quest.

Althior signs up for Quests #88, #89, #90, #91, and the Unlimited Quest before returning to his lonely table at the bar. He orders a glass of water and downs it, before tipping his chair back against the wall to observe the rest of the heroes. He needed to get out of this hall, and fast.

I perk up not only with my name being announced for the quest, but for Gut's challenge.

"How about a test of raw skill, friend? No artifacts, no consumables - just you and your weapon. Of course, that'll apply to me as well... Just a fight to the finish."

I'm assuming that this would go fast enough that it would end before long, and/or not cause any major time paradoxes. If anyone objects, no problem - I've just always wanted to pit Sorrow against Guts.:blush:

I take a look at the list.

"Huh!" I grunt. "I've been chosen, and as party leader again. It seems as if someone knows how to make their picks."

I quickly scan over the list.

Stigveladi, that's good. Someone of his talents are worthwhile. However I'll certainly have to keep him in check. Wouldn't want him destroying the whole marketplace.

Can't say I recognize the other, but someone with a name like 'Sorrow' or 'Avalanche' could only spell trouble.

"Very good. Let's do it."

Heckz looks at one of the ugliest things he has seen in his life. After realizing he got into the quest, he wanted to know which other heroes were chosen. Hmm. Avalanche, I know that one. Stigveladi? Haven't seen her in a while. And which unfortunate soul has the horrible luck to be named 'Pretzel'?

Heckz heads to the marketplace.

Benji walks into the hall again, after a brief absence. He had received a letter. Curious to what might be inside, he secretly opens it with his sharp claw on his finger, and pulls out the letter. Reading it, he stuffs it back into his pack and leaves the hall, knowing to whom he must approach for advice.

A bespectacled woman walks into the hall, her hair as red as blood. She walks up to the quest board and scans the board meticulously.

"No, no, this won't do at all. We're missing twenty five percent of the crew I require... these other three missions involving Baltarok seem to have the majority of sign ups by ninety percent, bare minimum."

Current Sign Ups for Quest 91:

Eric Tryvar, level 19 Shaman

Purpearl Berthadhiel, level 3 Shaman

Althior Emorith, Level 36 Necromancer

She moves some of the hair out of her line of vision as she leans next to the quest board, idly taking in her surroundings. She mumbles calculations to herself.

Tesni entered the hall, she had spent some time in the mountains again, the high air was much cleaner to breath. Checking the quest board she signed her name under Quest 88. A title would be impressive to have and it sounded like a good adventure.

Posted

Hybros sat in the Hall, pondering his next move as he watched Tesni sign her name under a quest. COme to think of it, he hadn't checked even looked at the other quests available before signing onto 87. That ship had sailed, so he decided to investigate. A return to Baltorak would be welcome - he remembered his brief two-year stay there, and felt somewhat more welcome among the rejected greenskin minorities. He signed on for Quests 88, 89, and 90. It didn't matter who the employer or what the job was, he decided.

He then approached Tesni, the barbaric woman he knew from the fruitless trip to Xu. "Hello, Tesni. I hope you have not forgotten little old me, hehehe. How have your recent travels been?"

Posted

"Well, we cleared out those stars." Tesni said in reply. She took a seat near the imp. "I had a breather and went out to squash rats and old ghosts in some theater and then was right back to Xu." She showed the Quilin blade, "I took the head of their leader. A blue man like Jun, the heir was unimpressed with how things played out I fear, though we did get him back to his mother."

Posted

"Right, I think I remember seeing you and Tarn right after you got back. Congratulations again, heheh..." There was no malice in his voice, but Hybros still looked at the ground as he said it. "It seems that you are well rested now. This business in Baltorak... have you ever been there before?"

Purpearl Berthadhiel, level 3 Shaman

Althior Emorith, Level 36 Necromancer

Purpearl looks on as heroes come and leave the Hall. She notices a woman standing by the quest board and seems to be aiming to stand aimlessly. Purpearl secretly slides her bottle under her dress after taking several mouthfuls out of it and approaches the woman.

"Hi there, Purpearl Berthadhiell, with a double L, at your service. I am a mage by the way."

Purpearl is rather attracted to the device that hangs in front of the woman's face.

"Waaaittt a minuuteee, shall I advise that it is inappropriate to stare at someone intently without intention? People might get the wrong idea!!" the manfairy snubbed.

The woman doesn't notice Purpearl at first, staring off into the distance muttering square roots and trinomials to herself. She finally notices her and reconfigures her glasses, speaking in a cool, calculating, somewhat monotone voice, one not of evil, but of intellect.

10749512995_ff0fd044df_o.jpg

"Berthadhiell? Curious last name, you have there. Wood elf descent, most likely of the elves that used to flourish within the confines of the Eubric Forests some years ago. Your head piece, made of fine silver it seems. Mage, no doubt."

She stares Purpearl over, taking her in. She readjusts her glasses.

"Nicole Telsa."

Alexis mopes over to the quest board and sees that she wasn't chosen to help in the marketplace. So she puts her name down for Quests #88, #89, #90, #91. Then gets a drink and resumes contemplating her life.

Nicole Telsa. That tight outfit and that device hanging in front of her face. Something Purpearl had never seen before. Purpearl thought she heard her mentioned something about wood elves in Eubric. How could she know about something that happened so long ago? She seemed really smart. She seemed to know a lot about Purpearl. Could she be... one of them. Rumours are that they are immortal. Purpearl could be their next target. Possibly. That outfit could be a disguise of some sort. Yes. She must be one of them. "I have to strike first." Purpeal thought to herself. So without delay Crimson Arcanon sat high up Nicole's neck and Purpearl pushed her to the wall. Purpearl stared into Nicole's eyes and Nicole smiled. Her eyes turned red. "Yesss we found you... after two hundred years... we know who you work for now... we will strike... this is only the beginning..." Purpearl fired a bolt up Nicole's neck and a flash suddenly erupted in the Hall, momentarily blinding everyone. When Purpearl returned to her senses, Nicole was no where to be seen, and a black mist suddenly surrounded Purpearl, and she felt breathless all of a sudden. "This can't be the end of me... urgh..." as Purpearl cupped her neck with her both hands. "Help..."

Purpearl suddenly springs back into reality and Nicole is still standing right in front of her.

"Oh... Hi... Nice to meet you, Nicole. Are you from out of town? Your outfit looks really special, especially that device that hangs in front of your eyes." as Purpearl tries to make up for that embarrassing silence.
