"Imagine a bunch of people think that they are the world's elite, add a generous dose of stuck-upness, megalomania, arrogance and a silly language, and you get a pretty good idea of the Charissian people, you can imagine what kind of a place comes from that. No offence, of course, Al'."

"None taken, that pretty much sums it up."

"Wow." As the conversations around the room continue to darken, Matthias wonders what he's gotten himself into.

A notice is slipped onto the Heroica Quest Board without anyone's notice:

Looking for a replacement hero for Quest #81: Home Sweet Home.

Romulus signs up for Quest 81.

The gnome mutters, "It can't hurt, right?" as he signs up for Quest 81.

"By all means, help yourself. I picked up a couple of them in the city I was last in. Had to get rid of a tyrant and sort out a couple of things, one of my few quests that I can happily say did a lot of good - but I couldn't leave without testing the local hardware, could I? 190 gold's the price on 'em if you're into weapons of this kind."

"That seems a fair price, but just to give you another option, care for anything in my collection?"

Posted

"Ah, I am always one for mystery mushrooms! At such a price I can't say no" Tesni rummaged out some gold coins..

"Well then, a deal we have. Eat well." Nur smiled. "Please think of me if you run across any more interesting artifacts such as this magic mirror you'd be willing to part with. I'm looking for a fitting pair o' boots..."

Hybros sees Nur, the funny old man from his quick trip to the Fields of Glory, and waved him over. He wondered if he would be going to Baltorak with the rest of the heroes signed up.

Nur makes his way over. "'ello there my dark skinned gnomish friend. Quite the eclectic collection of companions you have at your table, Hybros. Aren't these gentlemen the ones responsible for letting a giant lizard loose in here earlier?"

Purpearl grabs her forehead with her right hand, and shakes her head,

"What's with the people these days..."

She slides opens her purse with her left hand and takes a peek, and instantly turns away in another direction,

"Can't believe I have nothing left."

Purpearl lets out a huge sigh and looks at her green concoction,

"You are not helping."

She slides the bottle back under her dress and heads to the Saloon.

"Scheherazade! I need a drink!"

Moments later, a mug presents infront of Purpearl.

"No Not this, I meant the barrel where all these came from. Two please."

Looking over at Purpearl, Johon hears her ask for two barrels of bear. He walks over and sits next to her.

"Why do you do this to yourself?" Johon asks, clearly concerned.

Purpearl scans Johon from top to bottom and smiles gently.

"Nice pickup line."

"But if you wish you can join me."

Embarrassed, Johon sits down.

"I don't want to sound like a jerk, please, don't figure me wrong. I just..." Johon says, swirling his hands in the air, trying to come up with a nice way to put it. "I personally think drinking is bringing out the bad in us. I don't think that alcoholism solves any problems really."

Mizuki sees Johon. Drinking the rest of her tea, she grabs her weapons, puts them away and leaves with her cake.

Johon, seeing Mizuki Kimura a few tables behind purpearl, stare at him, then scuttling around and picking up her belongings. She brisks past him and out of the hall.

"Excuse me, I'll be right back. I have something to attend to."

Johon gets up and quickly walks out of the hall. Looking around, he notices Mizuki walking away. He quickens his pace and approaches her.

"Why is it that every time you see me you run off?"

Posted

'Shunpo'? What does that mean? Johon wonders, noticing Mizuki run off. Johon looks around, then starts climbing up a nearby building. 'Why didn't I just look for a ladder?' Johon thinks to himself, half-way up. When he finally reaches the top, he looks down at the street, difficult to see faces. Eventually he notices a black-clothed figure running through crowds. He starts jumping from building to building trying to catch up to her.

Purpearls turns around and shouts across the Hall

"Hey! Leave that lady alone!"

(When Johon was running out of the hall)

"I don't mean any harm, I just need to find out what is going on."

Nur makes his way over. "'ello there my dark skinned gnomish friend. Quite the eclectic collection of companions you have at your table, Hybros. Aren't these gentlemen the ones responsible for letting a giant lizard loose in here earlier?"

"Giant lizard? Eheh, I must have been sleeping. I have seen plenty of them in my time here with Heroica to know how to deal with one, though. Ehem... er, are you signing up for these quests for Baltorak?"

"Wow." As the conversations around the room continue to darken, Matthias wonders what he's gotten himself into.

Hybros looks a little at the gnome, who didn't seem to hear him. He shrugged; maybe he would see him around Zylstra.

As Johon's leave the Hall, Purpearl smirked,

"She likes him. She avoids him. He doesn't know. She sees him with another woman. She gets jealous and leaves. He doesn't know."

"Oh and that reminds me of a totally unrelated song I heard along the streets of Eubric."

And Purpearl starts singing,

"Don't tell Scotty, Scotty doesn't know, Scotty doesn't know..."

"I am not sure if I'm up for travel so far away. If it could somehow be guaranteed that my questmates shared the same sleep schedule as me then I might be able to attend." Nur yawns a moment. "Otherwise my bouts of inactivity would ruin the overall exciting stories those adventures are sure to bring. When I don't get enough rest my mind seems to travel to other places and lives other lives while this physical shell stares blankly ahead."

"You heard any interesting news lately, Guts?"

"Sure. I hear many a thing. What do you want to hear about? About how the fishing around Uland is treatened by someone's apparant experiments trying to create another kraken? Or how apparantly Captain Patricia's uniform got stolen." The raider says it with a foul face. There really was nothing interesting going on.

"Ach, nothing touches my heart more than knowledge some poor watch officer won't be able to reassure everyone she's in charge. Are there any quests soon that might be of interest to me? Look at me, barely been back a day and I'm planning to get away again. I guess some part of me gets a kick from saving cities, and I want to do it again."

Before he makes it out of the bar, Thormanil notices a man selling some weapons. "Heh, quick detour li'l buddy." He approaches the man, laying his Wyvern's Tailblade on the table. "Looks like you've got a few more toys than you can handle! And here I am, needin' a new one. How about one of them pitchforks for this fine blade, hm?"

Haldor nods as two of his old friends arrive at the table.

"Good to meet you again, Thormanil. As nice as that blade you're handling there is, it ain't really much different from the kind of equipment I'm lugging around already. 190 gold's the price if you want to straight-up buy this thing, interested?"

"That seems a fair price, but just to give you another option, care for anything in my collection?"

"And you, Hoke. I see you've got some fine artefacts there you don't seem to be using. Would you be happy to part with either your warrior's treads or that bastard Vonnetate's chains in exchange for one of these lovely eye-pokers? If you're planning on holding on to both of those, I'll be more than chuffed to just take the gold."

Getting up from her table with Alexis, Jess walked over to Haldor, her heart pounding with every step. Haldor glanced up at about the halfway mark, and Jess started sprouting beads of sweat on her brow. After an eternity, Jess reached Haldor's table and took a seat. The hall seemed to have gone silent, awaiting her words.

"Hello, Haldor. It's been awhile."

The nord's deals are suddenly interrupted by the arrival of another person he has known for a long time. Upon realising who it is who calls his name, Haldor's grin fades and he looks at Jess, speaking calmly and dispassionately.

"Jess, you're right, I haven't seen you in bloody ages. Where have you been?"

Posted

"190, hm? Yeh, I can swing that."

He hands Haldor 190 gold in exchange for the trident. Arx scurries down Thormanil's arm and scales the length of the weapon, curling himself around the middle prong before returning to Thormy's shoulder, apparently satisfied.

"I think the li'l guy likes it, too! Heh heh. Thanky, Haldor. Time to get this thing fit for battle."

As Thormanil heads for the doors of the Hall, Arx begins tugging on his ear, trying to direct him towards the Quest Board. Eventually Thormanil gets the picture and checks the current listings.

"You're a really eager li'l thing, aren't ya? Alright, let's see what we've got... Protection, Negotiation, and.. a carnival? Well, I think the first two are up our alley, at least. Haven't had any dealings with the Ji Pei either.. Let's try our luck at Quest 89." Arx lets out a dissatisfied growl. "Fine, fine. And Quest 88."

Suddenly, all heroes looked at the Hall's door as it was (once again since a long time ago) kicked down by some weird stranger man! Although, they realised that a stranger entering isn't really that exciting, and so they continued with their daily business.

But, other than that, it seemed like Drake Flamerobe had made an unexpected reappearance after getting stuck in a tribal cave the last time he went outside! Also, he had a useless pet crow that made sarcastic comments every time he did something wrong. Nobody cares about that, though. Does anybody care?

"Note of interest, all you guys and gals: Do NOT listen to this crow."

"Yeah, right. Like anybody's gonna listen to you."

"Oh, shut up, you."

OoC: Needed some way to end this.

Johon follows the dark-clothed character down some streets, see them head into a building. Johon looks around, noticing a clothes line spanning across the street. He jumps down, grabbing and swinging down to the floor. He turns around and rushes into the building. He's about to approach the figure when they take a hood off. It clearly wasn't Mizuki.

"Crap." Johon mutters to himself, then leaves the building. He walks back to the hall and notices a familiar sight. The doors are broken... Again.

"Who made these doors anyways?!" Johon half shouts, walking into the hall. A few heroes motion their heads towards Drake.

Trying to put the past behind him, he walks towards Drake and sits down.

"Can you please try not to break the doors? They aren't great doors but kicking them isn't helping." Johon mutters to Drake, then gets up and goes back to Purpearl.

"...What? Adds some dramatic-ness to my entries. And besides, it's not my fault the hinges are always loose!"

"Ooh, you just got told!"

"Again, with the hating! Please, just stop it! But maybe I should stop kicking the doors so hard...

"I've been attending to some family matters back home. How about yourself? You look well."

Drake raised an eyebrow at Johon's sigh. He then realised that yes, he should have stopped kicking doors so hard or even stop kicking doors altogether.

Well, Drake then thought that he could just kick tougher doors open. Maybe. Also, Drake wandered over to the questboard and signed his name up for all of the quests on there. Better chance of getting in, he guessed.
