Endgame Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I cough, and attempt to switch the subject to something other than my mortality. I'd rather not think about it. "So... How was your night?" It was unconvincing and plastic change of subject, but I couldn't come up with anything more substantial. Quote
Nic herring Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 "It means that only 6 heroes can go on the quest. You might not be chosen." OOC: Nic herring, you need a picture for Nain or else you can't go on the quest. sadly so I hope we are the lucky ones, in that spirit i'd better buy a bed roll Quote
Duvors Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Throlar had retuned from the library, feeling much better now, seeing Nain and Avalanche he strode over to their table. "Hello Yeti, my name is Throlar Wineghilm, what might yours be?" he said sitting down. "And on the subject of names," he said turning to Nain, "You never told me what yours was." Quote
Kintobor Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Karie slumped in her chair. Six. Six people who truly cared for her. And one was dying. "Hmm? Oh. Good. Got a little tipsy at the New Year's Party at the Albatross. Me and Masson made out at the stroke of midnight, he stayed dry the whole night." There was a sense of melancholy about her. She was less peppy, as if her persona was cracking. Quote
Dragonfire Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 "Yeah, you'd better. I didn't need one because I'm a barbarian, but it's basically essential for all other classes." Avalanche turns to see Throlar approaching. "Avalanche. I joined while you were on a quest, I think. How many quests have you been on? I've been on two and the Fields of Glory as well..." Quote
-obelix- Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 "Hey, Thalion, my friend, it's a pleasure to meet you, sit with me for a moment." says the elven archer smiling to his friend and giving him the same vine he was drinking "The Fields of Glory, you ask? well, it is very different from a classic quest, there are only battles, without any interlude but you gain some interesting things. The quest is open again, do you want a run, waiting for an interesting quest?" asks smiling Alexander to his friend. "Sounds exciting, having so many battles in such a little time. I would imagine you get quite a bit stronger after an experience like that!? But tell me, compared to usual work we do, do you find such constant battling better of worse? As for your question - We'll see, if I don't go on any quest, sure, I'd like to give the Fields a try; but if I do, they will have to wait for another day..." He paused for moment and looked at his cup, and taking a bottle offered it to Alexander, "More wine?" Quote
Endgame Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 "Well, good to hear things are going well between you and Masson..." I sigh. "I apologize for just dropping that bombshell on you like that... It'd be unfair for you to just walk in here one day in a couple of years and find out I'm dying then, you know...?" Quote

He paused for moment and looked at his cup, and taking a bottle offered it to Alexander, "More wine?" Alexander stretches the glass to Thalion "It's not so simple; on one hand is better because you concentrate only on the battles without worring about your mission, on the other you have few break that a quest. Personally, I enjoyed this different form and yes, I became more stronger that when I entered.Of course, I don't rush; we have time." cocludes smiling the eleven archer. Quote
Duvors Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Avalanche turns to see Throlar approaching. "Avalanche. I joined while you were on a quest, I think. How many quests have you been on? Dragonfire Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 "OK." Avalanche wonders whether the quest failed, or possibly whether Throlar's actions embarrassed or shamed him. "I wonder when we'll hear whether we were chosen or not." Quote

"I wonder when we'll hear whether we were chosen or not." "Oh?" said Throlar, "Did you sign up for quest 93 too?"As he spoke he pulled a book from his pocket and began to read, the book was named The War of Azzural. Quote
Dragonfire Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 "Yes. I think you were at the Library when I signed up. What's that book about?" Quote
Kintobor Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 "I suppose... it's just... I guess I didn't expect it to be in such a short period of time. I mean, I only met you a few months ago. I don't want you leaving so soon." She looks anywhere but in Sorrow's direction. She'd learn soon if she'd be leaving to help the Academy in their missing school debacle. Part of her wanted Sorrow to be with her. The other half wanted to run and hide somewhere. Quote
Endgame Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I cough, before continuing. "If it is of any consolation... I believe that if it wasn't for Heroica's aura, we would've never met. I would've died of old age, I imagine... Fortunately, however, I think whatever magic surrounding this hall has dragged me through the last year or so. You can't run from the reaper forever, though, and the years are catching up... 429 or so though isn't a bad age, huh? It'll be a long run, and a good one too, here and there." I look at my reflection in my glass of water - a blue glow surrounded by a black hood, rippling in the water's surface. It wasn't even a face. it was just a facade I had been using for hundreds of years, at this point... and to be honest, I was growing tired of it. Especially now. How long has it been since I actually loooked at myself in the mirror? My actual self, not just some ghostly glow. "...Think I should ditch the hood, Karie?" Quote
Duvors Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 "Yes. I think you were at the Library when I signed up. What's that book about?" "Azzural, the most powerful Necromancer ever, and the war against him." he paused."It happened before Mercuton was sunk, and even an alliance of Moon Elves, and Titaan Dwarves wasn't enough to defeat him, because of the Helm." Quote
Dragonfire Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 "Hmm...anything to do with the Kingdom of Azzurat in the south- some heroes are on a quest there right now?" Quote
Duvors Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) "Hmm...anything to do with the Kingdom of Azzurat in the south- some heroes are on a quest there right now?" "I don't know, some say the kingdom was named after him, but that's just idiotic, I myself think it's just coincidence." Edited January 5, 2014 by Lord Duvors Quote
Kintobor Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Karie lets out a brief laugh. "Sorry. It seems that ever since I got here luck has it out for me or something. Whatever sort of magic's running about this hall, it seems to draw me back here time and time again. I had the sight of blood." "It's up to you Sorrow." Part of her worried she'd gag on the sight of Sorrow's undead body, however she was also curious to know what was behind his otherworldly aura and his black hood. Quote
Sandy Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 The list of heroes chosen to participate into the investigation of the vanished Academy of Enlightenment was posted on the Quest Board, with a note that told them to arrive post haste. Kintobor Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Karie checks the quest board, only to directly apply her palm to her face. "Of all the people you could choose as party leader, you choose him?! Oh, this will be entertaining..." She turns to Sorrow. "I got some shopping to do. I'll meet you at the Academy... wherever the Academy is... shoot where is the Academy again..." Karie wanders out of the Hall and out to Market, Hershey not far behind. "Mreoow. <I feel neglected.>" Quote
Dragonfire Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Avalanche signs up for the Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory, "Throlar, Nain? Want to come too?" He then sees a gift for him- a Grating Stone. He quickly uses it on Trollsbane, levelling the club up to WP:7 Quote
legobodgers Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Seeing his name on the board Amorith hastened his gait slightly and left for the former location of the Academy of Enlightenment. Quote
