Quarryman Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Briefly stopping by the hall before going to the marketplace Namyrra signs up for the Fields of Glory. After her trip to the marketplace she sought out Docken, Atramor and Nyx and handed each of them 88 gold. "This is the remaining gold from the quest, after I sold the crown, the venoms and the surplus sabre. Now I need a long bath, and a few drinks while I'm having it. Be seeing ya, it's been a pleasure questing with you guys, I'd love to do it again some time." Quote

CMP Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Atramor walked through back the doors of the Hall casually, noting at once the chicken perched on one of the tables in the saloon. He pulled a seat up to it, a fresh bottle of rum in hand. "And where'd ya' get off to again?" McCafferely clucked quietly and tilted her head towards the regulator. '~Warning my kin.~' "About?" '~Did the rotting flesh of that insipid king knock the senses from you? Did you not see what the librarian did to Naamah? Archdemons are immense in both power and lethargy. Their immortality has been them brash, overconfident. The likes of you have banished three already. But the third has been locked from this plane, permanently. If we ever knew mortals had the capacity for that kind of power, it has been forgotten over the ages. This will stir things up. Having one less archdemon on this plane may be a small victory for your kind. But no doubt you have drawn the attention of others.~' She began sharpening her talons on the tabletop idly. '~It is interesting. My original task has failed. Utterly. Yet your interference - yours, of your own will - gives me more reason to remain here.~' Atramor blinked. "Is that a compliment?" '~No. My new purpose far exceeds any potential your life serving my order had.~' "Right..." He shook his head, sipping his drink, taking a bored glance at the Questboard. "Just undead and rabid vermin, huh? Funny how I already got sick'a those in a desert known for its demons." Quote
Jebediahs Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 With the letter, Nur finds a dark red scarf. He could recognize the scent of the mountaneous female rogue from it, so it must have been worn by Little Jane herself. Milling about near Old Mack Donauld's farm, En Sabah Nur finished reading his letter. He buried his face in the scarf and inhaled deeply. He coughed once then looked South towards the Forest. "Mmmm. Ah, Little Jane's Muff. What a thoughtful gift." Nur tied the kerchief above his right bicep. The mage received another reply in the form of a letter and read it as he walked towards Heroica Hall. Folded with the letter was a foreign headscarf with a pair of serpents printed on it. As soon as he put it on, Nur knew it was what he had asked for. "I am developing quite the collection of scarves. Those Venomari priests do have interesting head coverings. I must visit their Temple soon to undergo the cobra trials. But I don't...exactly know how to get there. Hmmm." En Sabah Nur stroked his chin with his left hand. Despite the illusion to grant a normal appearance to his arm cast upon him by the aquatic spirit now bound to his aquamarine, Nur could never forget the weight of his rock encrusted limb. Of course the condition was his fault for testing a new spell in battle instead of perfecting it in a safe environment first. "Those priests have remedies and immunities to everything." Quote
Duvors Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 A dwarf, short, hairy, sweating, and wearing dress clothes and a black fedora entered the hall. "Throlar?" "Yes, I'm trying to arrange the purchase of some new kind of recording device, the meeting is in a few weeks time." "Oh," said Throlar "Then that's all right." The other dwarf looked at him closely. "You didn't." "Yes I did." "Arrggrrh!" Quote
Khorne Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 OOC: Long post. I wanted to shed some insight where Eric's has been all this time. A red sun slowly rose over Eubric, it's glistening sunbeams reflecting off the snow which covered many a Eubrican roof. Pushing away the white sheets of the bed, Eric sat up. He strapped on his leather pants and put on his boots. Sitting on the edge of the bed,the Nord reached for a bottle of mead that stood upon a barrel at the side of the bed. He tried taking a swig of the sweet brew, only to find out he had emptied it the night before. Or at least one of the many nights before. "Figures, empty...", Eric grunted silently and rolled his eyes. Angrily he put the bottle back. The loud thud provoked some motion on the other half of the bed. The sheets moved and still half asleep a red-haired woman emerged, dressed in Eric's oversized tunic. She put up a loving smile and lay her hand on his shoulder. "Bad night again?" she asked. A bad night indeed. One of many. Ever since his last Quest nearly a year ago, Eric's life spiralled downward. Aiding Reno in his quest to take over the Bonaparte family and free the Crystalline Sea had been the first time in a very long while that Eric had truly found a goal in life again. But the pirate failed in his scheme and Eric was partly responsible for the failure. The Northman had sworn his loyalty to the man and had failed. Now, Reno's brother Nemo was in firm control of the family once more and Eric's chances of finding some form of redemption for his actions and earning a way back home grew ever slimmer. It was as if the full weight of the world rested upon his shoulders. They were broad shoulders, but even the hardiest of men can crack. Ever since he was banished, Eric had to forsake his principles time and time again. It was getting more difficult each time to stay true to himself and the values of his people. The feelings of loneliness and guilt festered in his soul and chilled the fire burning in him. The woman crept closer and now lay her arm across his chest. Gently she rested her head on his shoulder. A faint smile came to Eric face. Mariel had been the one bright side all this time. The friendly waitress had taken a liking to the Nord Raider during his last Quest. She reminded Eric of someone back home, from during his time in Vartland. The waitress was sort of simple in spirit sometimes, but kind of heart. Mariel doesn't even mind when Eric mistakenly calls her "Astrid". But not even her warm, loving embrace, nor her scent or Mariel's ginger hair could fill the emptiness inside the Nord. Still, despite that, Eric felt obliged to look after her. For Reno's sake, because he had failed him. He looked after Mariel, because he had to abandon Astrid long ago. Mariel didn't fill the emptiness, but at least she made it bareable. So, Eric got up and put on his gear. He slung Godricsleif, his trusty greatsword, across his back. Sloppily, Eric put his long blond hair in a topknot - strands of hair still dangling at the side of his face. His hair had grown long and his stubble more prominent, his cocky grin had turned into a sly scowl. Perhaps his looks had changed, but deep down Eric was still Eric the Northman, the proud warrior from Vartland, searching for redemption. He was the one to bring down the Bonapartes, because he owed it. He owed it to Reno and he owed it to himself. So, Eric kissed Mariel a hearty goodbye and left the Merry Mermaid, ready to rekindle the burning flame in his heart and drive away the emptiness. Determined, the Nord strode to Heroica Hall. Once there, he signed up for Quest 94. He was out of practice and could use some violence. As usual, he then walked over to he bar and ordered a drink. After all, it had been since last night since he last had one. Quote
CMP Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Atramor looked sideways at the nord who sat down a few stools away. He swore the man looked vaguely familiar, but he merely scratched his chin and polished off yet another bottle of rum. Quote

Whiskey and Soda for me." he said without turning to the barmaid. "Picking up My habits eh?" "Don't change the subject Throlar," moaned Meldrim "Just tell me why?" "Because I felt like it, and anyway you don't need me." "Throlar, weather I need you or not is immaterial, you are the ambassador and it doesn't become an ambassador to be an irresponsible idiot, if you'll pardon the expression." "I don't care about the expression, and if they wanted an ambassador who wasn't one why did they chose me? There was no need to re..." "Ah, here are our drinks!" said Meldrim suddenly and very loudly. Throlar suddenly realized the mistake he'd nearly made and shut up. Edited February 2, 2014 by Lord Duvors Quote

Khorne Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Just as Eric was about to leave the Hall and head to the Market, he noticed an Orc stumble in. Curious to see what the Orc's business here was, the Nord followed in his wake. Eric was pleased to see he had been chosen as one of the heroes for this new quest. Pleased, but not surprised. He just knew he'd get chosen. After all, who'd pass up one the chance to add one of the infamous Norse warriors to their party. He grinned. He felt good, because he knew he was good. Confident, Eric retraced his steps and left the Hall for the Marketplace, looking smug as ever. Soon, he'd feel the thrill of battle once again. The cries of the fallen would echo in his ears and their warm blood would spray across his face. Blood for the gods. Blood for his blade. Quote
