Duvors Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) "Well Meldrim," said Throlar "It seems I've been chosen for the quest, I'll be seeing you later." "No you won't." "What do you mean by that?" "Throlar, I am not going to let you run off into the blue again for however short a time and no matter how near you will be." "And what do you intend to do about it." said Throlar with a ghost of a smile on his lips. "Come with you." said Meldrim in a perfectly matter-of-fact voice. "You can't be serious!" said Throlar paling. Edited February 3, 2014 by Lord Duvors Quote
Sandy Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 ~A new quest has been posted on the Quest Board (#96 by Scubacarrot)!~ After delivering the "Vibrator" to the Tritech Company's headquarters, Ellaria took a much-needed rest at her house before returning to the Hall. She hoped that the little imp Hybros would not be present, since he would be hogging for her to explain things like intercourse and pregnancy, which were topics she would rather not speak about out loud. Maybe she could convince Lawrence to have that talk with Hybros instead. She glanced at the Quest Board, and saw that Captain Patricia had finally decided to continue the aborted mission in Strivvi. Thinking she owed the Captain of the Town Watch a second chance, Ellaria signed her name for Quest#96. Would the others be willing to return to Strivvi as well, considering the awful situation there? She would certainly be much more comfortable if she'd have Lawrence, Skrall and the others with her... Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Skrall watched a guardsman post a notice to the quest board. Taking a walk down the stairs, the ogre spotted the mention of Strivvi. "'Bout time they straightened out that mess." Skrall placed his name down for Quest #96. Before returning upstairs for a drink. Quote
CMP Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Atramor glanced up at the Quest board. One had been taken down, another put up in its place...This one, however, was much more enticing. Apparently things were underway in Strivvi once again. He barely thought about it before scribbling his name down under Quest #96. Quote
Dragonfire Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Avalanche exits the Hall, heading for the Marketplace. Quote
Tanma Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 IC: De'kra makes his way into the Hall, before sitting down. It was hard to focus, hard to concentrate on anything. Quote
Pandora Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Nyx returns from a long soak at the bathhouse to ease her muscles, and her mind, happily scented with exotic flowers and now free from the blood and sand that had accumulated in the desert. She nods thanks to Namyrra as she accepts the gold. "A fine team; we did well. Even Byblos came into his own and made Heroica proud. I've quested with you all before, and would be more than happy to do so again." and she smiles warmly before moving off to find a drink. As she walks, her eyes spy the questboard, and the name "Strivvi" leaps out at her. Without hesitation she signs her name for Quest #96, nodding to herself as if in satisfaction as she does so, before heading for the bar and a very heavy drinking session. Quote
Zepher Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Boomingham breezes into the Hall and glances around. He darts over to the quest board and signs his name to Quest #96 before heading up the stairs to the bar. He sits down to the first lady he sees. I was once a King," he tells her, "of a very old kingdom. Sadly, I ran into a little trouble with a young mage. They locked me away for a few hundred years - to me it seemed like a quick nap in another dimension. When I hopped on out, my kingdom was gone, the people had gone on a quick exodus or something, and all they left behind was a few ruins, and all the treasure." Boomingham glances over and raises an eyebrow. "Stop me if you'd heard tihs one... Nyx, is it?" Quote
Pandora Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Nyx grins widely as she hears the voice, still facing the bar before turning around to her drinking companion and grinning even more, but with a little mischievous look in her eye. "Larry! You old goat, still alive I see." she nudges his shoulder with hers before failing to resist the temptation to throw her arms around him and hug him tightly. "It's about damn time you got here, there's a helluva lot of drink to be drunk and I need someone dependable to drink with, and there's no-one I can depend on for that more than you old man. Tell me your stories if you want, it's probably a damn sight better than your singing." And with a further grin she raises her glass to Boomingham before draining it in one and ordering yet another. Quote
Zepher Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 "If you want something dependable, let it be my inability to remember much of anything. When was it we saw each other last? Surely since Steerpike? Ah, and speaking of music-" Boomingham puts the Bolero of Fire on the bar- "I got you something. I'll let you find someone else to sing it to you. It's about fire and all that, so I figured you may like it." "Ellaria and I have been out adventuring. Saved a town from going to Hel with a little help from Nerwen and the boy mage. Then we just ran a device back and forth, fought of some mercenaries. Normal stuff, you know." Boomingham glances around the Hall. "I'm glad to be going back to Strivvi. Got some scores to settle, and Strivvi is the first of many. What about yourself? I hear you and Atramor were in the desert?" Boomingham holds up his fingers indicating to the bar maid that he too would like a drink. Quote
hoanganhbeo Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Greetings young heroes! Maybe old or whatever... My name is Hoang Anh. Waterbrick Down Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Greetings young heroes! Maybe old or whatever... My name is Hoang Anh, Knight of Eubric Castle I have just became a knight yesterday so, of course I'm inexperienced. But I want all of you to help and support me and let me join quests with you. Thank you and good bye! Skrall eyed the armored knight that had just arrived, "You there, enough with the shouting, we get plenty of that without the new heroes makin' fancy introductions. Pull up a seat." Quote
CMP Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 "When the hell did we get a castle...?" wondered Atramor aloud before shrugging and swigging his drink. "Ah, what am I sayin'? Walls pop up 'round the Hovels, schools teleport outta existence, buncha' demons take up under the damn hall...they don't tell us nothin' these days." Quote
Pandora Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Nyx picks up the sheet of music, unfurling it as if entranced, and looking at the symbols that meant nothing to her, before looking at Boomingham wide-eyed. "Th.. thank you" she stammers "I have no idea what to do with this, but... that you'd just give this to me, that's just so kind. Usually people expect something in return for something like this, but you're giving this to me freely? That's..." Nyx's look of amazement breaks back into the grin she usually has around Boomingham and she raises her now full glass to him as a toast. "Your good health, your majesty." She takes a deep breath, smiling but clearly trying to control her emotions. "So, uhm, yes, Atters and I were in a desert. A bit like the one we were in all that time ago, except with fewer bugs and more archdemons - we killed two you know!" Nyx nods slowly and proudly "and yes, it was dry, so thank you so much for that mead you sent, hell's teeth I needed that. I was squeezing water out of my Aquamarine just to stay alive, but water? Seriously? Boooring. So we traipsed across a desert, several times thanks to a double-crossing git, but we killed him and Namyrra raised him as one of her undead. You know Namyrra? Old, odd looking, Fenarian woman with strange habits. Anyway, she's a Necromancer now, so we had a horde of undead following us around. Do you know how much they smell? Especially in the heat of a desert. Oh, there was one hilarious bit you would have loved; halfway through a battle, Atters got spammed with some doozey and went running off into the desert on his own, arms and legs all over the place. It was so funny, I wish you'd seen it, but don't tell him, I don't think he enjoyed the "nearly dying of dehydration" bit. Oh, and guess what? That chicken of his is a bloody demon! All the more reason to cook the damn thing, although I'm less keen on eating it now. I think it talks to him, you know. Do you like my cloak? I took it off the body of the woman who double-crossed us. I rather like it, and I like deserts I think, especially the last one - it had a bar. So did you get the 'shroom? I couldn't part with a drink, but I know that booze isn't your only vice." She risks a cheekily pointed look at Larry's belly. "Anyway, I'm glad you're coming to Strivvi. It'll be good to get everyone back together again. I haven't seen Skrall or Ellaria or whatsisname the elf for aaages. Sounds like Ellaria's a lot tougher now, that's good. She's really very sweet, but I'm glad she's got a bit of oomph about her. It can be a nasty world out there and occasionally she seemed almost too fragile to leave the Hall." Nyx trails off and pays more attention to her drink again, which is still worryingly full, especially compared to Larry's. Not for long, however. Quote
Comrade Commander Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 After a brief stop at the market place, Darksten strolled into the Hall. Though it was humming with conversation, he prefered to grab a table alone in the corner. With no viable quests offered for the time being, he sat quietly with his thoughts. He new the woods had taught him a lot on his many hunting trips, but there was still plenty for him to learn. That much was very clear to him given the variety of foreign species he saw conversing together. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 It was no surprise who were going to be picked for Quest #96. A guardsman walked in anyways, calling out a list of names with stately voice: "Ugh, uhm, in no particular order, chosen to aid the Town Watch in current affairs, are: Atramor Gibbin, Ex-pirate and keeper of fowl, Skrall, the gentleman Ogre, Nyx, Hero-that-is-actually-worth-something, Lawrence Boomingham, Hero-that-is-actually-worth-something and Ellaria Arbour, single mother. If you'd please, follow me." Quote
CMP Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Atramor finished off one last bottle of rum and stood, stuffing McCafferey back onto his shoulder as he left the Hall. "Finally. Let's get this crap finished." Quote
hoanganhbeo Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 (edited) Man! I It's too bad that the sign up is over.I can't sign up for quest 96 anymore ! Edited February 8, 2014 by hoanganhbeo Quote
Nic herring Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Hoang Anh, nice to meet another new guy, I arrived recently and have yet to go on my first quest. perhaps we can band together, we would be well matched. A trip to the fields of glory just fell through. but with a well matched group, perhaps we can petition the hall to still let us go. however we would need at least another, well matched to us, to stand a chance. <beardy grin> Quote
Nic herring Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 course if you want to practice with me in the arena we could earn some extras <chuckles and thumps table with fist> Quote
Comrade Commander Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Darksten looked up from his thoughts at the bearded dwarf banging on a table. The short man certainly seemed tough, but Darksten couldn't help and wonder how his short legs would fair outside of the paved city streets or smooth stone mines. Quote
hoanganhbeo Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 perhaps we can band together, we would be well matched. Yeah! that would be a great idea! however we would need at least another Maybe Darksten or Cam Riverra? Quote
Comrade Commander Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 As Darksten watched the Dwarf, he noticed that it seemed the Knight in his shining armor was beckoning him over. As he joined the two he listened to their plans to enter the Fields of Glory. As he did, he sized up his companions. The Dwarf's size still bothered him, and the armor on the knight shined in such a way that it was evident it had not been used in combat before. Plus, even Darksten knew his own skills were fit for the woods, but not necessarily up to par for all the dangers in the world. "Gentlemen, while I don't know you very well, I think we best stay away from the Field of Glory for the time being. The stories that I have heard indicate that the place is not maintained for the new and inexperienced. However, I would be willing to join you on a quest if we can find the right employer, or would even go to the Fields of Glory if we can get a veteran guide. Quote
Flobnomdob Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 The door to the Hall swings open like damp origami, and a brightly-dressed, helmeted and cloaked figure lurches in. it is Harold Grimmson, a travelling voyager (Unlike most voyagers) who has only recently returned from a long quest to find a trident not in pearl gold, which was a failure. Harold wonders if he is way too late, seeing as no-one new appears to have entered the Hall in ages. He squints and realizes the room is completely quiet and that everyone there is scowling at him. "Hello? Erm, good evening?" After stepping in a cold puddle and ruining his new boots ("Why would there be holes in the bottoms and backs?" He ponders, until he a remembers they're for connecting studs to), he is met by the sound of crickets, at least until... Quote
Flobnomdob Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Harold then realizes that he had imagined everyone else in the room- it is in fact empty. Quote
