Cutcobra Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Damn, 162 gold? That's too much. "Fine, I'll let you have the damn vial of venom. Just because of my good, non-manipulating soul." Heckz gets his bag of gold out of the table. "How do you know how old I am anyways..." Quote
Kintobor Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Getting iritated by the monk, Karie stands up, looking at the heated debate, wanting to have some fun. "Thank you for your time monk, but I must be off." She slides over to Em and drops a bag of coins onto the table, smiling playfully. "I'll take the grating stone for 75, if you don't mind." Quote
Emjajoas Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Em glances between the bidding members awkwardly; he had quested with them both, and favoured neither. Boomingham seemed interested in the item; he felt guilty for not being able to give it to the man, but he needed a better shield if he was going to face the Regret. He waits patiently until Erdy wins the bid. "I suppose it's yours for 162 gold, Erdathcath." he says with a nod. Turning to Karie, he tosses her a grating stone. "75 is fair," he nods. Quote
Endgame Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I rise up and walk to Em's table as well, but with no intent of baetering. I was beginning to recall Karie's sentiments on Boomingham, and I simply stand idle to perhaps ease the tension. Perhaps I'd only cause it to mount, though... "Hello, Karie and Heckz." Quote
Emjajoas Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Em looks worriedly at Sorrow before realizing he was not there to bid. He sighs lightly, hoping everyone's attention wouldn't be focused on him any longer. Quote
The_Customizer Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) "Ah, thank you very kindly. This item will last me quite a while in defeating foul minions of evil." Erdathcath hands over 162 gold, from 750, leaving her with 588 gold. Edited July 23, 2014 by The_Customizer Quote
Kintobor Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 "Deal!" Karie accepts the Grating Stone, and hands the 75 gold to Em. 1350-75=1275 gold. "Hello, Karie and Heckz." "Oh, hey. Just picked up a nifty grating stone. Probably going to sharpen Sexy, since she hasn't gotten a lot of use as of late. I saw you talking to Lawrence. What were you guys talking about?" She asks inquisitively. Quote
Emjajoas Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 "Pleasure doing business," Em nods to the ladies, gaining 237 gold (1 + 75 + 162 = 238). Quote
Cutcobra Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 "Hello, Karie and Heckz." Heckz greets Sorrow. "Hello there." He stays quiet until Erdathcath goes away, then he whispers to Karie and Sorrow. "Watch out for her. I heard her saying that she will use that poison for the glory of the tree people." I saw you talking to Lawrence. What were you guys talking about?" She asks inquisitively. "Who the Zoot is Lawrence?" Quote
Endgame Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 "I doubt that, Heckz... We were just talking about old times, new times, good and evil... Typical hero stuff. We had a good banter going before Em unveiled that venom of his." I smirk, making sure Em knew I was simply joking. "What's the good word for you, Karie? Anything new?" Quote
Cutcobra Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 "Please, when have I ever lied to you? " He says jokingly. Quote
Zepher Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Boomingham shuffles awkwardly as everyone clusters up into groups after the great Crimson Haze debacle. He wonders vaguely where Nyx is, and then he worries more seriously about where Nyx might be. He retreats to a nearby table and sits down heavily. Quote
CMP Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Atramor shook his head, instead tossing Em 90 gold for the other Grating Stone, making sure to stuff it into his coat before anyone got a chance to snag it, and dragging a chair up to Boomingham's table, taking his half-finished bottle of rum and McCafferey with him. Quote
Emjajoas Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Em nods to Atramor as he buys the other grating stone. (238 + 90 = 318) Quote
Zepher Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Boomingham turns to Atramor. "Tell me, boy, with honesty, who in this Hall you trust with your life. Nyx? Ellaria? Who else? The Ogre as well?" Quote
CMP Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Boomingham turns to Atramor. "Tell me, boy, with honesty, who in this Hall you trust with your life. Nyx? Ellaria? Who else? The Ogre as well?" "Aye. Trusted my life to Skraal in both Dastan and right under this Hall. I'd add Tarn to that list too, though I haven't seen him around lately. And, well, I s'pose you, too. What about yourself?" Quote
Zepher Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Boomingham wags his head sadly. "That's it for me too, excluding Skrall and whoever Tarn might be. Swear I've met him. Sweet looking well mannered chappo? There's a few of those lurking around this Hall, anyway. I'd trust Hybros too, he's a smart little fellow. Not Lady Nerwen, though I'd like to. Arnulf, but he's gone best I can tell." Boomingham shakes his head sadly. "I've got a man I have to deal with, but I'm afraid I'm too old to do it my self, and I don't know who to have help me." "Hybros is dependable. Can't say I've fought with him enough to trust him with my life. Who's this guy you've gotta deal with? Arthur? Is that the rotten little bastard you've been complainin' about?" Quote
Zepher Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Boomingham grinds his teeth along with a rueful smile. "Arthur is another problem all on his own. He proved himself useful in R'Klif and I may need him if Baba ever pops her head back up..." Boomingham grins, then leans in and does his best to whisper, which is, as always, only barely under a normal tone. "The man is Masson Cour. He was let go by the girl Karie Alderflask. She spared him, though he had and used a machine that could change one's core beliefs. That is a crime I cannot forgive. I do not know if he used it on her or not - but either way I will be setting her free, or righting a wrong that she made of her own will." Quote

Back when I was a witch I'd sometimes have my enemies throw themselves onto their own weapons, but, well, that's just a means to a quick end. Changin' minds by force? I can see why ya' hate the guy." Atramor swigged his drink and licked his lips. "So why'd this girl Karen spare him?" Quote
Palathadric Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 "Thank you for your time monk, but I must be off." I look up at Karie as she rushes to leave. Some people are just unwilling to analyze the facts when they're staring them in the face. They are so easily beguiled these days...and willingly too. I shake my head, but then remember something and call after Karie. "So, are you willing to part with either of those staves? Name your price." At least, clearly, my message has impacted others in the hall. I should try to get into more conversations... I muse, making a note to speak with Atramor later on. Quote
Endgame Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I give a slight glance to the hardly hushed Boomingham before returning to Karie. "Sorry about that... Zoned out for a second. So, Karie, what's new?" Quote

I just don't trust him." Karie brushes the hair out of her eyes, trying to figure out how to break the news. "How do I say this... well, me and Masson are getting married soon. Really soon." Quote
Palathadric Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I grumble a little as Karie turns down my offer and stroll over to Atramor instead. "Well, you're looking in a better state than the last time I saw you. Any new items for sale?" I chuckle. Quote
Endgame Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I raise my eyebrows. "Engaged? After no more than a day back? Wow... Well, congrats! Do you and Masson plan on going the full mile? Name change, shared residence, kids? I'm guessing you'll be Karie Cour afterwards. How soon is soon? Six months, nine months?" Quote
