August 1, 201410 yr "Ah, well if that's the case, I'll take it off your hands. I'm sure I'll find some use for it. Say, where did you manage to find it at?" Erdathcath hands over 1 gold.
August 1, 201410 yr Deus gets up to go to the quest board, and Erik sighs and drinks some of his ale. Quests. How much good do they really do, once the dust's settled? Maybe I'll take a break from Heroing and go somewhere interesting. He thinks to himself. The ranger returns and tells Erik he's leaving, and Erik waves. "Good luck." He picks up the bottle and pours himself another drink.

August 1, 201410 yr Author Ellaria feels stoked after finding out she would be going on a quest with three of her friends. It was good to get something to spend time on, at last. "I wonder what Nyx thinks of my new garments", she wonders by herself as she sees her reflection on one of the Hall's windows. A jacket and pants were not what she usually wore, but she was feeling increasingly comfortable in them.
August 1, 201410 yr Nyx listens feeling slightly sad as Boomingham talks about what to do with his book. "I'll not hear any of that from you. I have to go to work now old man, so while we're both gone you bloody well stay alive, or I'll figure out a way to bring you back from the dead just to yell at you. Do you hear me?" She glares fiercely at Boomingham, but she knows he can see the glint in her eye too. Her faux-fierce mask breaks briefly as she nods and smiles at Hybros as he passes. More gently, she continues "I mean it, though. Have fun wherever you're going and I'll see you back here again" and with a quick kiss on the cheek and squeeze of the hand Nyx winks and heads out to her quest.
August 1, 201410 yr "I'll try my darndest." He smiles and waves farewell to his friends, and then is left alone at the bar again.
August 2, 201410 yr Not so deep in the bowels - because as it turned out Eubric was an island and the caves below it were not so pleasant - of Heroica Hall, a new hero was about to leave her mark. The door swung open easily as the harsh sunlight bathed the heedless drunks inside as though a mysterious, angelic form stood behind it... But actually it was an orc. "Damn," muttered the figure behind the hood wrapped around her face. "Who's taking care of this place? I was a step away from blowing my entrance..." She stomped roughly on the loose floorboard, jamming it back into place. The orc shook her head, taking a more complete look around before heading over to the saloon, to find a bottle of Mead awaiting her. "...Free drinks? Vohln Tarok, no wonder these islands are so successful..." The new hero curled her fingers around the drink, but concerned herself more with examining the Hall and its inhabitants first. With luck, she'd be there awhile. Miderun (CallMePie) 17 year old female orc Barbarian Level 1 Power: 4 Health: 8/8 Gold: 10 Equipment: Serstyral (WP: 3, axe) Inventory: Potion, Mead
August 2, 201410 yr With her announcement of the lottery concluded, the Sand Queen descends to the lower level of the hall, and speaks audibly: "Those on Quest #105. I would like you to meet me in this Hall, come morning. The time for you to depart is almost nigh." With that, she exits the main atrium of the hall, wandering through parts of the Hall unkown to the heroes.
August 2, 201410 yr Em takes note, checking his armour, his shield, and his bow. He rummages through his bag, organizing his consumables and spare items. He was tense. The Regret. It would soon come to an end. Fastening his belts tighter and adjusting his cape, Em was ready for what was to come.

With luck, she'd be there awhile. The matron of the saloon sailed over to the new heroine with an incredulous look on her face. "Eris, is that you? How dare you show your face...? Oh, zol-sarkuun, ral! I thought you were someone else. So, what brings a fair orcish maiden to our fine establishment?"
August 2, 201410 yr Miderun looked up at the orcish bartender, looking quite surprised. "Don't know any Eris. Is that supposed to be an orcish name?" She blinked, then shook her head. "Well, I'm Miderun. Apparently some heroes from around here helped out Baltarok, where I'm from." The orc glanced around, as though paranoid. "Humans, even. I figured there's gotta be some reason why. And it turns out you're sellswords with a sense of morality or something. Styro dal Olag. And that works for me. I, well, expected more orcs, though."

She, like myself, grew up here, so our names are not exactly traditional. My parents were slaves, but I have lived free for my entire life. It has taken centuries to abolish slavery of the orocund, but we are finally getting there." The matron offered Miderun a refill. "I am Scheherazade, the keeper of this Saloon. Want to hear the latest gossip?"
August 2, 201410 yr "Yes, some of the clan leaders are working to free as many in the High Kingdoms as they can. Though some are still more troublesome than others. And of course the sartar paladins are doing everything they can to delay the process." Miderun nodded, and pulled over the full mug, taking a long sip. She hadn't yet gotten used to the ready availability of alcohol outside Baltarok, but still found it quite intoxicating. "Sure. I hardly know anything about this city. Might as well spend time learning about it while I'm here."

Miderun got a lengthy explanation about the inner politics of the city, learning all about the six houses in power and the rise of the Wolfgang in such detail it all started to muddle up in the end. "...and that's how things roll in this city nowadays. Got that?"
August 2, 201410 yr Francis Barkley 22 year old human ranger Level 1 Power: 4 Health: 6/6 Gold: 10 Equipped: Bow (WP 3) Inventory: Potion, smokebomb The doors of the hall swing open again, and yet another new hero walks into the bustling hall. He instantly walks up to the quest board, quickly scans it, and signs up for quest #109: Dreamscape. Edited August 2, 201410 yr by Captain Settle
August 2, 201410 yr I quietly walk back into the Hall, searching for Lawrence. "Ah, good day, Lord Boomingham! I hope you've been well. I believe we have a trade to complete:" I reach down to my belt and hold up a sizable leather pouch containing 750 Gold.
August 2, 201410 yr Boomingham raises an eyebrow at the strange man, but smiles quietly. "You looked well, Docken. And with such a glittery shield. I can guess what you're after." Boomingham fishes around in his bag for a small Shard of Adamanite up and tosses it to Docken. "I've got to go. Stay safe." Boomingham wanders away, feeling a little ill at ease with his friend who is always able to cut to the hearts of matters, minds and men so quickly.
August 2, 201410 yr Author The everyday life of Heroica Hall is interrupted as a big, brown rooster flutters in from an open window. Scheherazade rushes to shoo it away with a broomstick. "Off with you! I don't need to wake up any earlier than usual!" "Cluck cluck! Cockadoodledoo!!! [i am here on an errand from Old Mac himself, so you better listen up. The Fields of Glory are undergoing a renovation - or as I'd rather call it, a reINnovation. That is why I have to inform they are temporarily closed from visitors. Please watch the Quest Board for information about the opening date. Thank you!]" Scheherazade, not understanding a word the rooster tries to say, clutches it by the neck and throws it out of the window it came from. "I won't tolerate noisy animals in my Saloon! I would've served it for dinner, but for all I know it could've carried the avian flu or something", she mutters to those near her. "You never know with farm animals that run wild."
August 2, 201410 yr Francis looks up from his drink and over to the rooster harassing the bar maiden. He wondered if things like this were a regular in Heroica Hall, and went to turn back to his drink, but then noticed a difference to the quest board. "Aww, the Fields of Glory are closed? Well I guess that just gives me longer with my drink."
August 2, 201410 yr Current Sign-ups for Quest 109: Dreamscape: Alexander Vandangant, Level 23.33 Hunter (Wedge09) Francis Barkley, Level 1 Ranger (Captain Settle) Sign-ups Extended to August 11th
August 2, 201410 yr Miderun had some trouble following Scheherazade's explanation - detailed to a fault - but managed to keep most of it in mind, running through it all mentally even as the saloon's owner went to go chase off a rooster she found vaguely familiar. "Thank you for the drink and information, Mauwalt Scheherazade." With a shrug, she excused herself and walked to the Quest board, where evidently heroes got their assignments. She could hardly read Common, but got the gist of what was asked, scrawling her name underneath Quest 109 before returning to the bar, her heavily bandaged fingers again gripping a drink. "Fewer people here than I thought." Her voice trailed off as a trio of figures entered the hall, then went their separate ways. Edited August 3, 201410 yr by CallMePie
