Annienal began jotting things down but became relatively confused relatively quickly.

"But... the fourth wall is a theatre term used to describe the box shape of a stage, with the audience looking into the fourth wall. Are.... you implying we're being watched?"

"Yes. By the Voice in the Sky."

"Good choice, eheh..." Hybros nodded to the newcomer elf.

Merilel nods shyly at the imp and then picks up her mug. Sniffing her mug appreciatively, her eyes open wide at the robust aroma. "How did the bartender know my favorite tea?" she wonders to herself.

Hearing the word story, Merilel crept close enough to listen. Hearing the horrid fate of the two friends, she let her hair cover her face so no one would see her tears.

Seeing that he was selected for a quest, Hybros excused himself from his table and headed downstairs. Two heroes he did know, and one he didn't. He thought about the upcoming journey and headed to the Marketplace.

Annienal, still kerfuffled over Docken's claims, signs up for Quests 119 and 120, hoping either of the houses would consider her for a potential job.

"H-hopefully my inexperience won't scare them away. It might be interesting to met either of these houses!"

[Comrade Commander]

Darksten sees the two new quests get posted and quickly excuses himself from his companions to investigate. His heavy coin purse doesn't feel as heavy as it once did when he sees the 300 gold reward. Quickly he signs up for quest #119. The thought of incense didn't really spark his fancy so he didn't sign up for the other posted quest. Upon consideration however, Darksten scratches his name off of the Fields of Glory roster so he didn't miss the chance for a real reward.

Warlen sighs as he sees Darksten cross his name off the FOG sheet, leaving it like this:

He then turns to Lind and says, "How do you feel about a game?"

Warlen just smiles knowingly, then orders 60 meatballs from the bar.

While they are being delivered, Warlen smiles at Lind and says, "I hope you're hungry."

RULES FOR EATING CONTEST:

Each player rolls the dice 5 times (Max score 30.).

Add all the scores together, that is your total meatballs eaten.

BONUS RULE: If you get 10 or less, you may get an extra roll. Repeat until you score is above 10.

Please don't cheat. You don't win anything, so what's the point?

Checking out the quest board and notice the 2 new quest. Thinking this might be a waste of time. (I probably will not get picked any way). But, signs up for both of the quest. (#119 & #120)

Then starts wondering about the Fields of Glory and when a decision will be about who they will let in to the place. OoC: Yes I heard it will be Nov. 4 on the fields.

Getting board just waiting around, and the fact Warlen stated "another eating contest". I get up to walk around and hopefully find some other "people" to go with me into the Fields of Glory.

Miderun looked up briefly from the book she pored over to sign up for Quests #119 and #120. She then returned her table, staring down at an open page well-near the end of the book with a fierce determination at the completely stationary words that threatened to drive her into insanity.

Warlen looked up at a calendar on the wall.

"Oh. Happy Halloween, Lind!"

Warlen sighed when he saw that he hadn't been chosen, but then noticed something.

He walked up behind the man who pinned up the note and said, "Excuse me sir. I see that you have made a mistake in your choosing of the team for te fields of glory. My friend Darksten removed his name from the sheet. If you need a replacement..."

Warlen gestured at himself.

"I'd be happy to fill in."

Darksten sees his name added to the roster of those chosen for the Fields of Glory. Taken aback he looked at the initial sign up sheet still stuck below. The quick line he had drawn through his name was more faded than he remembered. "Perhaps it is fate?" He thought to himself, knowing he didn't really believe it. Approaching the man who seemed to be the Quest Master of the Fields, he said

"I had intended to stay in the hall and try my hand at one of these other quests. However, if you require me to balance a team... I am happy to accept the challenge."

ooc edit: Just to clarify, I had scratched my name off the list so would understand if I get replaced by a new player. But if you want me to balance out a team, I am happy to fight the good fight and participate. I just don't want to take it away from one of the other players who had signed up if you are still considering them.

Ooc: Apologies all for not posting this before I left for the Fields, I was focusing on my planned purchases and stupidly forgot.

Several hours before arriving at the Fields, Lind looked carefully at the sheet.

"It is a strange thread that ties its knots around us, picking its victims almost at random, it sometimes seems..."

He hoisted his Bag of Holding over his shoulder, and nodded to Warlen. "It appears that Fate has chosen different paths for us, for the moment. It has been quite pleasant to speak and dine with you, and I look forward to some future day, when we are chosen for the same path."

He tucked his Bag under his shoulder, turned up his hood, and left for the Fields.

FM Note: Ah, I hadn't seen you remove your sign-up. If you're still willing, though, I'd like for you to come along--it's much easier to balance for similar Levels than dissimilar ones, and I think we'll have a lot of fun together.
