Another quest I was not chosen for. But, notice some new quest so...

Sign up for quest 126...

And the Fields of Glory again.

The reward for #122 is another Mushroom, so I could pay you back in full, and I could pay you with a little bit of gold and some meads/potions up front, to sweeten your end a bit."

Why are you so impatience? If I was going to sell the thing I probably get more out of it than was you are offering for it. Besides I was hoping to use it some point in the future.

Why are you so impatience?

The rogue's face grew distant, his expression purposely vacant.

"There are certain peoples in this world, who have been given certain...duties by their ancestry. And, it would be far better for, well, the fulfillment of said duties, were I more properly trained to fulfill them."

"I was considering it as more of a temporary loan, since I would be paying you back with another Mushroom by the end of the quest - and, unless I misread your actions, you won't be needing to use yours until a after the quest is over, so you could only profit from the deal.

But, you do make an excellent point in that what I'm offering in exchange for the loan is not a very luxurious offer for the action.

What, could I pay you - in the future - that would make us both walk away from here fully satisfied?"

Matthias looks up briefly from his ale and is momentarily struck by the size of the greenskin standing at the bar. The gnome briefly admires the enormous sword and trio of bows hanging from the ogre's back before turning his attention back to the mug in his own tiny hands.

OK. (Whatever.)

If and this is a BIG IF, I give you the "Mushroom". I think I would want some sort of collateral and the only thing I might want is one of your "throwing weapons" for collateral. Besides their is no guarantee, you will complete the quest (and they have not even picked anyone yet).

OoC: I was going to tell you to double check the list because some of the player(s) have been pick for other quests. But, others have all ready pointed it out. Edited by samuraiturtle

The rogue frowned.

"A man's weapons are his arms, their edges his hands. I would almost rather leave you with my Medal, than my weapons. But, I have the two, and it is not entirely too much of an assumption that one or another of my companions may have a weapon they can lend me to booster my stock.

Very well - if I am chosen, then I will leave my Darker Ethereal Deck with you - being a demon, I believe it might suit you the better than its twin, and I would not part from its twin if I could - those five cards are my very nature, my very being, all that I am, and perhaps all that I shall be, etched in so few droplets of faded ink."

Annienal crumples another piece of parchment and meagrely tosses it onto the floor, adding another piece to the growing pile. It seemed nothing was coming to her, even after having been a part of an investigation involving treachery and poor Fogfarer... she moves the image out of her head and looks back to the witch and the young lord. It was a tragic love story, one that had timeless value, but the images felt fuzzy after so long.

One thing kept persisting in her mind, and it was infuriating her that it would not leave her. Closing her book and packing her things, she makes her way to the bar, her throat dry.

"I'd, um... like some wine and a bit of goat cheese, please." Annienal begins to delicately slice some cheese as she ponders.

Having temporarily concluded his bargaining with the half-demon, and noticing the attractive elven knight he had met before at the bar, the rogue quietly slipped across the room, and sat on the stool next to her.

"I'll have what she's having, but without the wine."

As he nibbled on his cheese, he turned and looked at her.

"I believe your name, it was Annie, wasn't it?"

Annienal notice the rogue approach her, feeling somewhat antsy about the individual approaching her. She talks to him in her usual soft demeanour.

"Um, yes. And I believe you were Lind?" She sips her wine, looking back between Lind and his cheese. "If you wanted some of my cheese, you could've asked, you, um... you know."

Trying to make me feel bad? Well it worked. I guess I could let you use this "Whip" I have. I never had a chance to use it and it is better than using your fist.

"Thank you for the offer, but I merely was waxing on the melody of the dramatic. It's a bad habit I have."

"The one, and the (I'm sure my mother would say thankfully) only."

"I didn't want to seem so presumptuous, especially in front of one of the more attractive(and clearly refined) Heroines."

Arthur spies a familiar elf in the Hall and breathes a sigh of relief. Good, she's here. Arthur walks over to the Mystic Knight.

"Hail, Purpearl!" the Weather Mage says. "I see you've already gone to work on that shield. Good on you! I...hesitate to ask but..." he slides his Blue Hand Shield (SP:5, immune to Hexed, Petrified, Minimized, Jinxed, and Stunned) over to her. "Mind starting over with this one? I recently acquired it from Xu, and I think it'll be a better fit for me once I resume being a Dragoon." The miffed-looking golden reptile following him sniffs disdainfully, prompting Arthur to give her a sorrowful look. "I'd be happy to pay you for the work you've already done on the Crescent Shield," he says, jingling a bag of 130 Gold, "and I'd be happy to let you hang on to it in the meantime in case you end up needing it. Does that seem fair to you?"

Seeing Arthur walk over, "Regulus. Good to see you in a different outfit." Purpearl nods kindly at the Weather Mage as she accepts the gold and the Blue Hand Shield. "I don't mind starting over and would gladly hold on to the Crescent Shield for you." Thinking of how repaying her debts with the gold would make her penniless again, "I have one tiny request, actually. Would you mind lending me your Overkill Gloves, if you don't mind?"

"Ah...unfortunately, that I can't oblige. These gloves happen to be my primary source of income nowadays, and I think that, now that I've returned to spellcasting, it may be a good time to start wearing them myself again. Perhaps another time." He pauses, noticing the Mystic Knight's Decamon cards. "If it's gold you're after, perhaps you ought to track down Atramor Gibbin, or one of the other champions of the Decamon Tournament. I hear they were offered access to a new class as a reward, so they'll surely be in the market for new cards if that's the case."

"Not a problem. I guess I have to dig deeper with my shovel next time I get out on a quest." says Purpearl jokingly. "These champions of the Decamon Tournament, I see, maybe they might be interested. I'll keep that in mind." Purpearl looks around the Hall, hopefully to find someone green fiddling with Decamon cards.

Miderun blinked as even more people approached the Quest board. She did the same, curious as to what drew them, before finding a name of a familiar place listed on the most recent Quest. She scribbled her name down under Quest #126, under those of two of her former questmates, and then turned to go back to her chair, having at long last finished the book given to her. Now she was familiarizing herself with orcish runes again as she scrawled down a letter. Along the way she bumped into a rather odd man in a cloak, hat, and some kind of bird. She gave him an odd look for a moment, then just continued on by.

Atramor Gibbin shrugged it off, only mildly annoyed. It felt good to not have the weight of whatever power Regulators wielded on his shoulders. Bouncing between chaotic and orderly got tedious after a while. Now everything just boiled down to playing cards. Life seemed easier that way. He took up his favorite seat at the bar, ordered a rum, tilted his hat to those familiar around the saloon, and got down to the real purpose of those that came to Heroica Hall: enjoying the never-ending steam of booze.

As Purpearl looks for individuals fiddling with cards, Arthur does the same...and soon spots a strange sight. Is that...? He walks over to Atramor's table and looks the man up and down to be certain. "It is you! Quite the outfit change, Atramor!" Seeing that his earlier Quest companion had indeed taken the opportunity to train with the strange cards, Arthur fishes around in his pocket, searching for the two slips of printed paper he had bought in that strange rift in space and time. Finally, he pulls out his remaining deck: a Night Mare (Dark 5) and a Pegasus (Luminous 8). "I think you'd be better off with these than me," Arthur says, proffering the cards, "perhaps you have something of comparable use to me?" Miirym grunts noisily, but Arthur merely gives her an uncomprehending look. "Care to repeat that in a way I can understand you?" he says, clearly irritated with his draconic charge, but she merely nips at his cloak and leaps up to perch awkwardly on his pointy hat. The Weather Mage shoos her down, and she settles down near McCafferey, muttering indignantly.

<Useless humans...> she mentally projects, not caring that Arthur would hear her.

Atramor nods and hands over Sylvania's Cowl in exchange for the Decamon cards. "Sounds good to me, mate. Aye, I've been trainin' to use these cards in battle. What about you? Ya' don't look like much of a dragoon anymore."

Posted

Arthur accepts the hood then, after a moment's hesitation, slips it on. "Yeah...not sure I was doing that great a job of it in the first place. I just don't know, Atramor...sometime in Xu, she got mad at me. Stopped listening, pretty much stopped even talking to me. I have no clue how to mend fences with her...and I'm sure as hell not gonna try and do it in the middle of a fight. Better to keep her out of battle until I can figure out why she's misbehaving, and how I can convince her to listen to reason."

Miirym merely rolls her reptilian eyes and curls up as if to take a nap.

Vindsval moves over and leans against the wall next to Miderun's table.

How have you faired since our last meeting?

I noticed that human looked at you rather strangely as he passed? Not an old enemy I hope? You aren't going to have to show him the error of his ways are you?

OOC: Vindsval had signed up for 122 as well, but things seem to look pretty full on that list
