Miderun looked up at Vindsval as he approached.

"Pretty well, Vahlorocand. Took care of some traitors to the Bonapartes, the Mougano. It disturbs me how quick people in this city are to sell eachother out. I suppose loyalty means more to orcs." She shrugged. "I learned quickly I shouldn't pick fights I don't need to and aren't exactly ready for, even before I came to this place." She nodded towards her bandaged arm. "Most heroes probably know how to put up a good fight anyway. What about you? What exactly happened to your arm?"

Upon returning from Tridentia I and an Earthbound were hired to investigate a disturbance in a "noble's" home. It would seem that not all those who claim to be of high birth are of high character. The good doctor not only sacrificed his wife upon the alter of science but caused his youngling to be consumed by his evil. His arrogance created a living personification of pestilence that trapped his sons soul upon this plane. In the process of releasing the tormented boy, I contracted the wasting disease. In order to save "the city" the doctor decided it was in his best interest to remove the source of the potential infection. Unfortunately, he deemed that source to be my flesh. Before I was able to protest my limb was lying, engulfed in flame, upon the floor of his den. It was only the pleading of the boys spirit, begging us to forgive his father, that kept me from spilling his blood upon the floor.

It has left me at yet another crossroads.

Tesni clambered out from her favourite resting place. She had heard some familiar voices and a commotion for a new quest. Reaching the board she noticed her name had been overwritten on one. Tesni signed her name on 122 and 126.

Looking around she spotted two faces she knew. "Skrall, Atramor! Well met friends!"

"I didn't want to seem so presumptuous, especially in front of one of the more attractive(and clearly refined) Heroines."

Annienal bites down hard upon hearing Linds words and bites her tongue.

"Ow! Oh, um... s-sorry, Lind... I was... um... not really expecting that. Um, thank you, that was very kind of y-you to, um... say... I... um, guess." Annienal begins to eat the goat cheese more hastily.

The ogre hears his name and spots a blade and a face he hadn't seen in a long time, ordering another tankard of ale Skrall makes his way over to Tesni's table. "Hail Tesni, been nearly an age and a half since I saw your grimace in this hall, figured you had left to go become chieftain to a tribe of warrior giants or something grand like that. You're looking well, all your limbs still attached, that's a good thing."

"Well, you're welcome, but I was just telling the truth," the rogue winked.

"So, didn't you have a whole knight-laureate thing going on? How's that been coming? Written any epic epics, or sage sagas?"

Warlen sauntered over to Lind and Annie.

"Yo, Lint, Animal. Watcha doing?"

Miderun blinked and shook her head almost disbelievingly.

"Damn. I wouldn't've let him off so easy, personally. But then I know how you are with children. We nearly had to fight some in my last quest. Zero respect for their elders here. They would not be so arrogant in Baltarok, I will tell you that. Well, seems if all goes well we'll be returning to Tridentia once again. Trouble seems to follow that place around."

Atramor nods to Tesni, taking up a chair by her and Skrall, McCafferey settling down on it comfortably as he leaned back in his chair with a bottle of rum in hand.

"Aye, good to see ya' again, mate. It's been a while. Where the hell'd ya' get off to after we took down those Stars?"

Indeed, I was hard pressed not to exact revenge for both myself and young Isaac. But, I had given my word as a Hero of the Hall both to serve my employer and to forgive him. Oaths given to the dead cannot be taken lightly.

Tridentia does seem to reside in shadow for a place of such brilliance. I do hope to see it again. If you remember, there is a certain wizard there who we left at his word. Do you think he may have lapsed into his old ways?

"What do you mean? We completely killed that uzardtirn, if I remember right."

"I went to fight in the northern kingdoms, bloody great headache that. Then I decided it was time to put some things in order and went up to the mountains again. Put the word about to all the other wandering Hightribe and the second children of tribe branches that I'm looking to rebuild the Hightribe. So I am gathering my giants you could say Skralll!" Tesni laughed. "There are enough about around the mountains who would like a new start. I'm waiting for word on who is coming so I thought to get down here and make my way to Chieftan, earn some more coin and then return to my tribe."

Vindsval rubs his head.

You are right my friend. Perhaps I have not recovered as fully from my wounds as I had thought. I wonder though. . . He was a necromancer of some strength.

"Yo, Lint, Animal. Watcha doing?"

The rogue looked slightly irritated at having his conversation be interrupted, but he nodded politely at the mage.

"Master Warlen! How goes it?"

A notice is pinned to the board.

Suddenly noticing the Heroes for #122 had been chosen, Lind quickly slid off his stool.

"My extreme apologies, everyone, but duties call."

He paused, hesitant...and suddenly pecked Annie on the cheek before scurrying out of the room, pausing only to drop his Darker Ethereal Deck in front of the half-demon, and borrow the Level Up Shroom, which he began to shovel into his mouth as the door slammed behind him.

"Well, some strength clearly wasn't enough strength. This job looks more straightforward, but who's to know? Maybe it's a dragon hoarding the berries or something this time," shrugged Miderun, with a snicker. She looked sideways at the cloaked man scampering away from Annienal and the quest board, and a glance at the latter explained why.

"It looks like we won't be headed out to the mountains. Maybe we will see Tridentia again after all. Nice place, if a little colorless."

Kiray snapped out of her daze and saw Grimwald. It took a moment for her memory to form after her quick drifting off and remembered the gnome. "Grimwald, haven't seen you in awhile. You're a sage now?"

Annienal felt slightly discomforted when Lind kissed her on the cheek, but just sat there, not sure what to say. She felt nervous, unsure of what to do next. She turned around to say something, but Lind was already gone. She nervously got off her stool and signed up for Quest #126. She noticed Miderun hanging around the board.

"Oh, uh, hey Miderun! So, anything new going on?"

A dragon? Perhaps a great sea beast has flooded the region.

Vindsval looks at the small scampering man.

What was that all about?

"Would not surprise me. Might be an interesting fight...couldn't say about that kuai. Lots of strange people here."

"Oh, uh, hey Miderun! So, anything new going on?"

"Annienal. Good to see you. Was just talking to Vind here." Miderun nodded, waving over her friend. She thought to herself for a moment, and then reached into her pack, pushing the book she had borrowed across to her. "Finished this by the way. Interesting insight. Though it would've gone a lot differently with orcs."

Makes the trade.

I hope we are not going to regret this.

I was all most hoping he was going to forget the trade the dumb trade, Oh well. He thought to him-self.

"Yes, that's right, I am. Figured it'd be more useful to cast arcane spells rather than just divine ones. What've you been up to recently?"
