"Yes, that's right, I am. Figured it'd be more useful to cast arcane spells rather than just divine ones. What've you been up to recently?"

"Just going on quests. I just got back from the Fields, couldn't kill this sheep for who knows how long, just kept evading me. It was more hassle than it was worth, that one. What have you done?"

"Annienal. Good to see you. Was just talking to Vind here." Miderun nodded, waving over her friend. She thought to herself for a moment, and then reached into her pack, pushing the book she had borrowed across to her. "Finished this by the way. Interesting insight. Though it would've gone a lot differently with orcs."

Annienal grabs her book delicately, looking it over before nodding and putting it in her pack. She sits down and curiously looks at Miderun.

"Oh? And how so? Not that I'm, um... disagreeing with you, of course. I was, um... just curious." Annienal replied, not wanting to upset her new friend. Annienal gave a small smile as she looked for Vind, before she looked in shock at his missing arm.

"Vindsval? Are... are you okay?"Annie sounded legitimately concerned, fear dripping from her mouth.

Purpearl checks the Quest board and realises that she has been chosen for a quest. She gives everyone in the Hall a quick glance before leaving.

"The dissidents would've been killed the moment they failed in their duties and cost the entire group their chance of escape. In such a situation, survival would've been the priority, even young orcs could see that and act accordingly. The rest of it would've played out far differently if they had," explained Miderun, with a nod.

Vindsval nods to the Knight and gives her a small smile.

I thank you for your concern. I am less than I once was, but I believe I will be fine. The wounds aches slightly, but it will heal in time. And you my dear lady Knight, how did you fair in your first adventure from the city?

"Hasn't been too long since I was in the fields also, and by Orrik was it difficult. I can't say I'm surprised to hear that even the sheep over there were able to give you trouble! Don't think I'll be setting foot again in there for a while..."

I have heard of these fields. I had thought they were full of dangerous beasts and creatures most foul. Are you saying that the beasts most foul were sheep?

"I'm just your relieved you're okay. I... um, hope you manage to find, um, something to replace it." Annienal smiled, somewhat relieved. She felt sorry for Vind, but at least he was alive. She frowned somewhat when the Half Giant asked about her recent quest.

"It's... it's complicated. Although the quest was a success... I don't know, Oberro Bonaparte's wife is not someone I would trust. She claims that the aoi of Xu are vile creatures, but having met Jun Ji Pei, he seemed an honourable enough man with enough ability to listen to reason. I took the reputation with the Bonapartes if only because I felt I didn't want to betray my employer, and I feel as if Oberro is legitimately trying to keep these ports safe. I don't trust Xsenna." Annienal looked awkwardly about.

"I... um, okay. I guess that's one way to look at the story..." Annienal couldn't really find the words to explain her argument without angering Miderun. She had made a mental note to not make Miderun angry.

"Should we... um, maybe sign up for the Fields? I don't really want to stay for very long, but we could at least get some experience and some neat things out of it! Or, um... you know, if you guys want to..." Annienal asked Miderun and Vindsval.

It is strange that you mention the Ji Pei. I spoke with Byblos, the Librarian, about what he knew of Automata, That is animated machine men. I believe that is where my best hope lies in finding a replacement for what I had lost. He told me of men who I can only call technomancers. They are followers of a man called Legonardo and have close ties to the Ji Pei. They are expert craftsmen and have found a way to bind either to machines to give them life. I will need to seek out the Ji Pei in order to obtain an audience with Legonardo. It gives me hope to one day be whole again, and to bear a shield in defense of those in need. But I am afraid it is a long way off.

Vindsvals voice sink in tone and trails off at the last, becomeing a mere rumble in his massive chest.

But your concern does touch me lady knight. One such as I is indeed a stranger to kindness for one such as you.

Miderun and I are waiting to hear word of a quest to Tridentia. It was on that island that we first quested, and we would relish a chance to return and see what our choices had wrought. If the wanderer wills I would deem it an honor if you would choose to sign your name next to ours. If it is to be so, perhaps our paths may yet mingle.

If we are passed over for the position in Tridentia, I would also be willing to attempt the fields with you. Though I hear tell they are not for the week of will or arm.

"Those sheep were a downright pain. What should have been simple was just difficult for some reason."

"I believe they are. We stopped relatively quickly so the sheep were the most foul we came across. One of my party members wanted to leave early, not sure why."

Actaeon signs up for Quest #126.

Warlen casually saunters over to Actaeton.

"Yo, Act! How ya doing?"

Without waiting for a response, Warlen added:

"I was wondering if you would mind selling/trading/giving me for your Scrolls of Frailty and The Abbyss. While I have a mere 40 gold, perhaps I could swap you for a scroll of Water, Fire, Ice or Wood immunity?"

"Like Vind said, we're waiting to see if we can help out this little island again. You should consider signing up as well, you'd make a hell of an addition to our team, you're better in a fight than I would've thought. The three of us would have no problem handling things, whatever they are..."

"Well... that sounds like it wouldn't be a bad idea."

Annienal signs up for Quest #126.

"Hopefully I can find a somewhat better shield. Although, it seems like I could write an entire short story about the lack of good shields..." Annienal muses to herself.

Warlen looks around at the awkward silence all round the hall and chuckles.

Actaeon smiles at the mage, "I think I'll just hold onto it for now. Thanks for the offer."

Thalion signs up for Quest #126.

"So, Act, what you been doing? Since we last saw each other, of course."

Warlen signs his name on the sheet for The Fields Of Glory!

Guts strolls back in the hall. Killing 'evil' people for solid gold, that's the way things should be ALL the time. The Alchemist walks by the Questing Board, and sees there is one quest up.

"That makes thing easy." Guts mutters as he writes down his name for Quest 126.

Hoke signs up for the Fields of Glory.

Nerwen sees Hoke signing up for the fields of glory.

I have never been there. Is it worthwhile? Would you like some company?

"By all means my Lady Nerwen! I have ventured there once before, where my mates and I slayed the Kraken and the Titan. There is adventure and riches to be had for sure, all while surrounded by nature's beauty. There seems to be an endless supply of foul creatures at every turn however. I heard a rumor that since the original guardians were vanquished that new monstrosity roam the fields..."

Hoke reclines in his chair as Torc climbs onto his lap. She is getting too big for this, the size of a wolf by now. He didn't seem to mind as he gently strokes her scales.

"Your musical skills are fantastical! Mind playing a light tune as we sit by the fire?"

After a few hours of sleep after the mission and party at the Guffington manor, Keliim walks back inside the hall. Looks around if he sees someone he knows. He thinks to himself, made some new friends and faces. The present from Elba will be very useful, will have to thank him the next time I see him.

Then he walks up to the questboard and checks the new missions.

Finding that there is only one mission there he writes his name Keliim down for it, Quest#126: Paint by Heroes. Thinking, it is time to drop the name I got in the the slave pits, so he leaves out "the Cruel" from his name. Maybe some day I will use my complete whole name again!

Then he walks over to Scheherazade and orders a mead and then he asks her: "Is here a place where a man can workout, I remember back in Roawia the Adventurer's Guild had a exercise machine, kettlebells (Quest for Glory pun  ) and bench-press"

Scheherazade answers Keliim: "Certainly darling, I have some kettlebells here in the backroom, you can come borrow them if you like? As long as clean them afterwards that is!"

Keliim answers the orcress: "That sounds excellent" and smiles.

Guts puts up a notice:

"Looking for a decent shield and a decent spear or halberd. Will pay solid gold. Find Guts Holla."

The alchemist strolls over to where Nerwen and Hoke are. Ignoring the knight:

"Are you thinking of going to the fields with Hoke? You'd both die without me around." Guts takes his name off Quest 126 and signs up for the Fields of Glory.

Hoke chuckles at the alchemist's constant barbs.

"What did you post on the board over there?"
