"Much better now that we're on dry land. The whole damn thing feels like a dream at this point. I was sick as a dog on the way back, as you know." Boomingham flashes a dangerous grin at the others. "Could hardly leave my cabin. Didn't know right from left. Seems my body is catching up with me."

Em snorts a little, smiling slightly at the joke. "As you said, I've, ha, seen better days. I suppose I'm just... tired, though. Eager to quest again."

He sombers up a little, glancing between the two heroes. "Are you... familiar with the hero Erdathcath? ...She was killed."

"Hm, I have not heard of many heroes dying on a quest... Interesting... How did it happen? Eheh..."

Boomingham shambles into the Hall. The ship ride had been long, and his stomach was hardly able to handle the sea under normal conditions. He trudges over to Em, Hybros, and Nur.

"All my favorite chaps." He collapses into a chair. "Who'll have a drink with their favorite old goat?"

"Boomingham." Hybros grinned, and raised his teacup. "So good to see you again, heheh." He looked between the Paladin and the Warden as they conversed. "It seems that you two were on a quest together... and came back one less..."

"Erdy was a true hero. She died defeating a true menace." Boomingham shrugs as best as he can, but his smile is a little lopsided. He sniffs at Hybros' tea. "Ellaria's doing, I'm sure. Won't you have something stronger with an old friend? And what have you been through?"

Posted

"I see..." Hybros didn't really know what to say, or if he should console his friends. "Ehem, yes, actually, we trained together as alchemists not long ago. I suppose I could have a small amount of mead... eheh. For you? And Nur, Em?" He orders from Schezerade. "A quest or two since we last met. On both times people seemed intent on creating life in ways that they were not meant to be created, at least not as we know it, heh. And since then, well... I have been below ground again. My people... they have returned to Olegaia. I have much to learn from them, and they from I. The change has been... Well, erm, I guess things are different now."

"I shouldn't be drinking," Em mutters. "But, ha, I suppose I'm not much one for rules. And... As Boomingham said, Erdy died a hero. She didn't die for nothing. But, ahh-- Your people? You found them?"

Hybros nodded. "I have, after a very long time of searching. As I was telling En Sabah Nur here, they have returned. I am both glad and nervous. What now? I have never thought about what I would do if I actually achieved my life's goal, heheh... So I am here. I feel I am needed in Eubric and the rest of the world still. Perhaps that will become clear to me soon, but for now I am content."

"I remember her, that elf. We almost didn't make it out of the Academy some years ago." Alfred arrives with a plate of two roasted chicken legs and potatoes. "It is about time. I summoned you long ago...thank you, now back to finding me a garnet!" Alfred walked through the gallery then up and down the stairs carrying his sign that read, "WILLING TO BUY GARNET, 90 GOLD". "Em, where did you pick up such a lovely-looking shield? As you can see, mine is much less impressive..." Nur shifts his wooden shield into view.

"I'm glad you found your people, Hybros, and I am glad you are staying with us here. We need all the good heroes we can get, especially after losing one of our best."

Em hefts his dented shield, smiling slightly. "Hybros can answer that as well as I. It was a Crescent Shield-- got it in the Moon Elf ruins. Upgraded it until it suited my needs. It's treated me well."

"Ah, Hybros had just mentioned these ruins before you sat down...where exactly are they and are there more spoils to be had there?" En Sabah Nur grinned eagerly.

Boomingham takes out his garnet and begins to spin it on the table, giving Nur a wink.

"Congratulations, Hybros." Boomingham claps him on the back. "Thats a fine reason to drink. What are they like?" He blinks a few times. "Is that why you look like such a demon now-a-days? No offense, of course."

"Thank you, both of you. They are... like me in some ways. But they have not seen this world like I have, though I think they were watching me somehow. They do not realize that the world has changed much since they left it. They have... ideas about what to do next that I am not sure are wise."

"Ehehm, demons, no, erm, not exactly. We were originally from Olegaia. Though I think our appearance had to do with our departure..."

"Ah, Hybros had just mentioned these ruins before you sat down...where exactly are they and are there more spoils to be had there?" En Sabah Nur grinned eagerly.

"There are many tunnels and passageways below this city. I have been through many of them, but no one can know where they lead or what is down there. I will tell you that there are many secrets down there, and ancient history. These streets that we walk on and the people of this city... Eubric, is only the tip of the iceberg, so to speak, heheheh..."

"I'd almost say the tunnels below aren't worth exploring," Mortimer mutters. "I'm still not sure all those... shadows are gone."

He still remember when one touched him. The elf flashed before his eye again.

"Definitely... not worth the risk."

Ta'im was bored. He'd almost forgotten what the sensation felt like. He'd been on the road for a long time and there and there had always been travelling to do, and perhaps preparing food or taking watch. Here he felt...at peace, but he was itching to get up and do something. He lazily cast his eyes around the hall where he found a large group of heroes deep in conversation. Some sort of short demon, a knight with long hair and an eyepatch, a foriegn looking mage with a wide brimmed hat and a large knight with an enormous greatsword. Perfect company. He approached them

"I don't supose any of you fine heroes know where I may find the questboard do you? Or have I wandered into the wrong heroica hall? I thourght that was what this organisation did-questing."

Of course he knew where the questboard was but he couldn't think of a better way to start a conversation on the spot, and definatly didn't want to appear weak and in search of companionship. It was impossible to tell whether his tone was serious or not. Every word seemed to content a spark of hidden wit and seemed to goad the person he was talking to into retorting angrily back but of course, that was all part of his intentions.

Nazgul scuttled back over to the Questboard.

"InCOnsPicUOS, eh? WeLL, i cAN bE 'iNcoNSpicUOs' iF NecESSarY", he muttered, much to the chagrin of many others in the room, fir his rasping tone hurt their poor little ears.

"ThEN AgaIN, aN iTEm fRoM hIS libRaRy? NoT thAT ExiTInG..."

Making up his mind, the Arachanoid LAZILY SCRAWLED HIS NAME ONTO THE BOARD.

Mortimer feels his hand instinctively move to shield his eyes as he sighed. "By the looks of things, Hero, a quest has just appeared on the board."

Posted

"Then it seems i have been mistaken master knight" Ta'im responds frostily "As to my knowledge this quest only just appeared here a mere few minutes ago, nonetheless I thank you for your input, and it sems I will take your advice" Na'im darts the knight a thin smile before leaving his seat and approachig the quest board

Na'im Thamir signs up for Quest 128

Returning to the table, Ta'im sits down next to the knight "I do not believe I caught your name by the way, good knight, and who are your esteemed companions?" Na'im asks, casting his eyes over Hybros, Boomingham and Nur.

Mortimer gestures towards each of the members of the table in turn. "Boomingham, Hybros, and... En Sabah Nur, was it? A small few among the best in the Hall."

He then hooks his thumb towards himself. "Em. You are..?"

Na'im bows not mockingly to the assembled 'fine heroes' "the best eh? Well it seems I have come to the right place then!" Na'im laughs briefly at his own joke before turning back to em:

"I am Na'im suladec ne of the Thamir line, cleric of the fourth class and of the air aspect- some call me centaur-friend or lion tamer, but to me I am just, Na'im, a humble Cleric searching for a new start" he says sombrely

What combat profession do you specialise in master em? You certainly must be very skilled at your work."
