Boris finished off his glass of wine, having spent the last few moments staring aimlessly at the floating goblet in the mirror across from the bar. Noting activity by the quest board the vampire descended the stairs and afixed his name to Quest #128. The cleric returned to his seat next to the Arachanoid, "Well we'd make an inconspicuous bunch, now wouldn't we?"

Em runs his gaze across Na'im, frowning slightly. "I am a Warden. And I don't know what you want, Na'im, but flattery will get you nothing from me."

"Well someone is difficult to please!" Na'im says with false enthusiasm "I want nothing more than to merely get on good terms with such fine heroes as yourself. Might get me a head start in this questing business for instance. Do you not remember your first days as a hero, master em, and how strange and difficult everything seemed, hmm? Perhaps not. Do you have any tips for new and inexperienced heroes by the way?"

"No, I don't," Mortimer replies, still grimacing at 'Master Em' and 'fine heroes.' "Other than gain more experience."

"Well said I suppose." Na'im says flatly before becoming deeply absorbed in a grain of wood on the table. He hoped all heroes weren't like this or the scheme he had planned out wouldn't work at all...it seemed he had some thinking over to do.

"Was there sufficient lighting for you chaps? I'm not understanding how you could navigate so well in the dark."

"Heh, do not even get us started. The Moon Elves, or perhaps someone else, figured out a way to get light down there using mirrors. We had to figure out how to illuminate a chamber while fighting off hordes of Moon Elf copies..."

Ta'im was bored. He'd almost forgotten what the sensation felt like. He'd been on the road for a long time and there and there had always been travelling to do, and perhaps preparing food or taking watch. Here he felt...at peace, but he was itching to get up and do something. He lazily cast his eyes around the hall where he found a large group of heroes deep in conversation. Some sort of short demon, a knight with long hair and an eyepatch, a foriegn looking mage with a wide brimmed hat and a large knight with an enormous greatsword. Perfect company. He approached them

"I don't supose any of you fine heroes know where I may find the questboard do you? Or have I wandered into the wrong heroica hall? I thourght that was what this organisation did-questing."

Of course he knew where the questboard was but he couldn't think of a better way to start a conversation on the spot, and definatly didn't want to appear weak and in search of companionship. It was impossible to tell whether his tone was serious or not. Every word seemed to content a spark of hidden wit and seemed to goad the person he was talking to into retorting angrily back but of course, that was all part of his intentions.

Mortimer feels his hand instinctively move to shield his eyes as he sighed. "By the looks of things, Hero, a quest has just appeared on the board."

Hybros watched Em converse with the newcomer. He seemed to be handling it well, so the imp simply watched the exchange in between talking to Nur.

Thalion signs up for Quest #128.

Hybros waved the elf over. He already told Thalion about the consequences of the machine that they had preserved, but he had not seen him since.

"Mirrors...very interesting. I would really like to hear the details behind the apparatus and/or spells used to achieve the cavern lighting. I have developed a fascination with the power of mirrors ever since the encounter at the Academy that nearly led to Erdacath's and my own demise. We faced a mirror whose magic involved bringing forth perverted reflections of any unfortunate enough to gaze into it. Ah, look here." Nur pulled out his pocket mirror. "This one here has the power to protect against some magical attacks."

"I am... not sure about any spells. I think the light source just bounced off the mirrors throughout the hallways. Fortunately the reflections did not make more copies of the shadow Moon Elves and gnomes. It sounds like your... encounter involved yet another source of unnatural life, eheh. There are so many. Some are good, some are bad. Like normal people I suppose, heheh." Hybros inspected the hand mirror. "Hm, that is a very interesting artifact. Ehehm, have you ever considered training in the ways of the Chi Monk? I have had brief experience with it recently, but I am no longer proficient with magic... You seem like you would be more cut out for such a position, if I must say, eheh..."

An orcish individual with a long beard and a bald head walks into the hall, looking busy. He quickly checks the questboard before leaving.

"I have seen the recruitment poster. It did nothing to pique my interest." From his seat Nur gripped the quarterstaff. "Though combining monk training with this rocky fist could prove advantageous, I cannae' part with me walking stick."

Boomingham has a few drinks as his friends talk about underground mirrors. He can't help but feel that its a little bit of a mundane conversation, but that's both a blessing and a curse as far as conversation goes and he's thankful for the company, so he sits there jolly enough with a sloppy smile splayed across his face.

Hybros waved the elf over. He already told Thalion about the consequences of the machine that they had preserved, but he had not seen him since.

Just about to leave the Hall andhead back to the Marketplace, Thalion spots Hybros and walks over to him, greeting him with a smile and a bow. "Hybros, my friend, it is so good to see you! It has been a while." He pauses for a moment and looks him over, "You look a bit different than last we saw each other... What have you been up to?"

Johon enters the hall, relieved the Regret was gone, but saddened at the losses incurred on the quest. He slashes his name across the new quest, signing up for quest 128. He sits back at a table, trying to deal with the issues confronting him.

"Yes, hm, that arm would seem perfect for the job. Just know that Lee Long is willing to teach heroes who have proven themselves with the Ji Pei in the ways of Chi Monk. I found the skills useful for my time using them at least, heheh."

"Different indeed, heheh. I feel like I am repeating myself, but I have found my people. I cannot say how exactly, but they have returned and I am glad for it, even if there were some... complications. Their return has caused some physical changes in me, but I assure you it is natural of my people to look like this, eheh."

Hybros took a long sip from his mead. And looked to Boomingham, and then back to Thalion.

"So, you know each other? What adventures have you been on together?"

"I told you, we saved a frog together," Boomingham beams. "A little girl wanted us to save a frog so we did. Least, I think it was with this chap. Sometimes if I get enough drink into me they all start to look a little similar. High cheekbones, angry little cunning eyes... course, that will never be a problem for me with you-" Boomingham stops himself, slams his thigh and laughs- "Hels, maybe it will be now that all your people are back."

"I see... it does not seem like a very important quest for heroes, heh. Perhaps you will meet another like me someday, if you do not drink yourself to death! Heheheheh..."

"A lot of the quests I go on barely seem suited to heroes. I'm losing faith that the Veterans vet the quests at all," chuckles Boomingham. "Heroes. And don't worry, I've survived worse than drink."
