Cutcobra Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) Heckz enters the Hall, feeling a bit tired. He immediately goes towards the questboard. Let's see... Welp, all these three sound like an oppotunity for money. Heckz signs up for Quest #129 and #130. Although when he tried to sign up for #128, some strange force pulled him back. Feeling tired, he went to sit on an empty chair. Edited March 11, 2015 by Cutcobra Quote
Zepher Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Two other quests caught his eye, though. He signed up for Quests #129 and #130 and noted Boomingham's name before returning upstairs to rejoin the conversation. "Ehehm, Boomingham, I forgot about your, erm, faith. How is your angel?" "Oh, you know... still around." Boomingham chuckles. "I try to swat him from time to time, but its all become rather humdrum by now. He was proud of me for killing the Eternal Reaper, less proud of me for leaving Masson alive. I doubt he likes you, but he's sort of fickle. Sometimes he hates Nyx and Ellaria, sometimes he tries to be their best friends." "This mortal plane is very tiring," admits Barty. "I am afraid I've lost touch with my heavenly connection a little. And you've been no help what-so-ever." He stares accusingly at Boomingham, and then shifts his eyes to the company he keeps... Hybros... Nur... Thalion. "And the company you keep. Don't get me started. Only the elf is even remotely redeemable. When I got this assignment they told me I would be working with a general from the Orcish wars, and now look who you drink your mead with. And the drinking!" He looks over at Hybros. "I'm shocked he can sit straight right now. He drank two meads while you were down at the quest board alone!" "Like I said, still around." Quote
Cutcobra Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) After hours of criticizing the orcish barmaid inside his head, Heckz started thinking about his first dream in the nightmarish quest. "He's beautiful!" A woman in the crowd shouts, "Why can't my husband be like him!""I want his fine looks!" A man shouts. Heckz stands in the middle of a crowd of cheering townspeople. Finally, people who understood him for what he truly was: the most handsome, brave, selfless man in all of Olegaia! They applaud the sorcerer and cheer his name as someone from the crowd grabs his arm, violently pulling him closer. His assailant's teeth were jagged and rotten, their eyes bloodshot and puffy. Blood drooled down from their mouth. Looking around, the light was beginning to fade as the rest of the townsfolk followed suit, become almost feral with sharp, serrated claws. They crowd emits aggressive growls as they descend upon him with vicious speed as the same words are pound into his head with every bloodstained strike and tear the villager make into Heckz's flesh. I'm getting the feeling this meant more than just "Everyone is jealous". Maybe life has a meaning more than just beauty... Yes! I've got it now, 'life'. If I keep aging then I'll just lose it and my indisputable gorgeousness. How do I become immoral, though... As he went on his righteous quest to have life everlasting to prove everyone that his face is above the laws of gods and men, and probably find out that 'immoral' is not the same as 'immortal', Heckz sets out to the Library. A mysterious place he never went on his life before. Before he left, though, he posted a note in a wall. ~FOUR SAYL~REPORT TWO HECKZ BRUTENHAL IPH U WANT ANEE~ -Spellbound Gloves (Spellpower +5; handwear), costs 75 gold. -Wyrd Shield (SP:4, prevents ether reduction; suitable to mystic knights and paladins), costs 60 gold. -Lovelorn Wand (WP:6, deals enamored-effect), costs 50 gold. Khorne Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 The doors of Heroica Hall opened and in stepped Eric the northman. With a bang he pushed close the heavy doors and then strode confidently, arrogantly even, forward with his usual swagger. The Nord tucked his thumbs behind his chest-armor and made his way to the bar. Eric's eyes darted from hero to hero and a mischievous look came to his face, accompanied by a trademark wolfish grin. Once at the bar he ordered the usual before heading out to the Questboard to check out some new Quests. Not surprisingly his grin widened greatly, even baring his canines. A low bestial growl emanated softly. Softly, he murmured some key words from the last Quest that caught his attention. The light in his eyes flickered. "Sisterhood...reliable...pious". Without hesitation he wrote his name beneath it. The term 'Elder Sister' was a turnoff, though. Eric's taste was broad and varied, but elderly women were a no-go. Unless they were "cougars", which changed the matter since that type of older people doesn't look old and can be quite "hot" in their own way. One must respect the elders. Still, the Nord hoped that there'd be younger Sisters at the conclave, too. He had never had a sister before. At least a religious Sister of Danab, anyway. Happily, Eric returned to the bar. He wanted a brief moment of silence after another busy Quest of dealing with that onbnoxious Dwarf. Eric signs up for Quests #129 and #130. Quote

"I'm shocked he can sit straight right now. He drank two meads while you were down at the quest board alone!" "Like I said, still around." Hybros briefly pondered where Nyx and Ellaria were now before Barty popped up behind Boomingham's shoulder. "Two meads?!..." Hybros turned the empty mug in his hands. Perhaps he had quickly forgotten how many drinks he had. The effect of the alcohol was strong, it seemed. "Ehehm... I think I will stick to tea for now..." He turned towards the bar to order, and noticed the familiar form and blonde hair of Eric, with his back to the rest of the saloon. He grinned, and signaled to Scheherazade. Turning back to Barty, he replied. "Uhm, but I still do not think you know me well enough to say that." He returned his eyes to gaze into Boomingham's. "I have heard of this mason before. Some other heroes here talking about him, I was not sure if he was skilled with brick and mortar. What did he do to deserve your wrath? And the Eternal Reaper, sounds a little more fearsome... heheh." Quote
Zepher Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 "I know more about you than you know about yourself, demon." "Ah, give it a rest, Barty. You know Hybros is more trustworthy than half the elves or humans that we run across." Boomingham shrugs. "You'd think the Eternal Reaper would be scary. Mostly he was just pathetic. A little war maker. Vowed the end of humanity or his own death and we killed him." "Masson Cour is more commonly known as the Stealer of Senses. A while ago Em, Karie, and the boy mage Arthur dealt with him - he was brainwashing some folks into changing their way of thinking. Bloody bastard. The others let him go, told him he got a clean slate because he said sorry or something. Not the way that I like to lead, so I promised I'd pay him back sooner or later." Boomingham finishes off his mead and belches, slumping into his chair a little and staring at the table. "But that's over and done with. Onwards and upwards, my little friend, onwards and upwards." Comrade Commander Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Darksten finally strolled into the hall after clearly taken a detour or two along the way. Where he went, it was clear that many would truly know. On his way to the training room, the ranger passed the quest board and saw new postings. He quickly added his name to the list of heroes for quests #128, #129 and #130, but added a little more emphasis to quest #129 hoping it would get him selected for his preferred quest. "As long as I get a reward, it doesn't matter I guess" Darksten thought to himself before leaving down the hall for the training room. Ooc: haven't been able to post my character upgrade, but didn't want to miss out on quests. Will have my training room post in a day or two so any QM can see my new build. -obelix- Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Thalion signs up for quests #129 and #130. "You became a craftsman?" Boomingham claps him on the back. "Good for you, chappo! The job of a hero isn't for everyone, that's certain. Hel, if I knew how to do anything other than command men and swing a sword, I'd probably take it up right around now. My bones are becoming tired. So, you're just in the Hall for some free drinks, or do you work for heroes? It'd be good to keep some folks in the fold who did a bit more support work. Wouldn't hurt to hire a second bar tender, for example." "Hahaha, good one Boomingham, but I am still here and doing what we do best. These tools aren't just for craftsmanship's sake, I have actually trained to use them in battle... Hopefully, soon we will have a chance and I can show you in person." With Barty showing, a wide grin appears on Thalion's face, "Greetings Barty! Its been too long. How are you? Boomingham is still his old self I see..." "Mm, yes, capable of much indeed... eheh." Hybros finished his mead. "Yes, I thought that once. But I knew others like me were out there somewhere. They were... banished from this realm long ago. I was able to bring back a few, but there are many more still trapped in... ehehm, another place." He admitted to Thalion, Nur and Boomingham. "Perhaps you can relate, as an elf. I have heard that they used to keep to themselves, though I do not know why. Where are your people, Thalion?" "Indeed I can, however, my people weren't banished, we chose the isolation so we can work and unveil the mysteries of magic and art in peace. The elven realm I came from is in the Murkwood forest, hidden and protected by powerful magical barriers, accessible only to my people and those we allow to enter it. And we only go out to trade and learn about the world, but those occasions are rare. Bear in mind that you can comb the whole Murkwood forest, and you would still not be able to see or enter it. But our people aren't as rare a sight as yours, so how did you manage to get your people back? Did you by any chance find out how they were trapped and where?" Nur shrugs again, giving his hand a once over. "Magic...merely an incantation running its course." He turns towards Thalion. "How well can a craftsman possibly fair on a dangerous quest? When faced with an enemy do you throw your pottery creations at them or simply hide behind your companions?" "Ehehm, Thalion is a very skilled fighter. I have seen him cast many powerful spells and hexes myself." "Thank you Hybros." Thalion says with a smile and turns to Nur, his face taking a more serious tone, "I do not hide nor practice pottery throwing, I am a mage. At the moment though I have suppressed the ether and am exploring a different form of magical art, the one coming from the person not using the ether - the art of craftsmanship. Like I said to Boomingham, these tools aren't simply for the sake of traditional craft though. I have been trained to use them on the battlefield, as a sort of war-craft you might say..." I remember that place, I wonder if they remember me? He shook his head. No, that was about four decades ago. Throlar then signed up for Quest 130. Quote

"I see... my people have learned much in their isolation as well. I have much to catch up on. Your people's secrets, they also sound very... interesting, eheh." He shifts his eyes around the room, ensuring that only those sitting close to him could hear. He leaned closer to Thalion and whispered. "Ehehm, you remember our quest that took us to Zoot's Temple, yes? And the portal that the Ziegfried woman opened, and the archdemon, yes? My people... they were, ehm, in that place that the portal led to. I had to go down there and open the door again, you see? It was not easy, and I had help from people from the other side. I was able to see it, the void. Azazot. My people were sent there, a long time ago. Since I arrived in Eubric, I had visions and heard whispers. "Don't know how to fix up this old sword, then? She got a bot of demon-crab blood on her, and a few dints from his damn shell too." "I'm growing a little tired of this realm, to be honest. Everywhere I look, I just find more shadows creeping in. Even if Lawrence would follow my directions, there seems to be anger and despair everywhere. Mortals are easily turned, it appears. Look at this Hall. At least Lawrence has his heart in the right place - some of these heroes can't even manage looking past their own pockets. And these are the supposed heroes of Olegaia." I used to think the Orcish Wars, when they ended, you know - that'd be the end of my career fighting, and then I could govern my people. But Hel, I'm still fighting and don't see an end in sight, and I can't tell how much good its doing. But what else is there to do?" Boomingham chuckles. "Besides, it affords me some free booze. Have I shown you this?" Boomingham takes out his tome of affluence and flips to a random page. Most of the original text is crossed out and Boomingham's handwriting is scrawled all over the margins.
