Guts looked skeptically at the new weapon, then shrugs. "I accept. It should serve you better than me, between my dagger and axe, I don't need much else."

The Alchemist removes his own blade from it's sheath and starts sharpening.

"Many thanks, It would seem I am on my way to discovering a new vocation. I have more to learn before I am ready for it though."

Vindsval adds the Twin Sai (WP: 10, dual strike, dagger) to his inventory.

"Tell me, you have just arrived from the Fields have you not. I have not heard much about them other than teh deadliness of their farm life. Did you fare well?"

Guts chuckles. "I reckon this is not a usual sort of farm. Instead of farmers, farmhands and bore, this one has vicious, mutated animals and horrid creatures that need to be put down. We did very well. We battled our way through where a gigantic Serpent had made it's lair. The beast changed it's skin to accommodate for our elemental attacks, quite the fight. But we killed it, in the end. Apparantly, we can now use the title Serpent Skinner.. Yeah right..."

"Serpent skinner? There are those in the red lantern district who might take that title as well. I know not whether I would spread that around. Though any title hard earned is one to be proud of."

Posted

"So the beast was able to mimic the elemental powers of your spells and weapons. Curious, do you suppose it was a magical of physical ability. Imagine if the skin kept the power after death. It would make a truly impressive suit of armor."

Vindsval looks in the direction Guts is pointing. "Atramor you say. Perhaps I shall go introduce myself."

Vindsval picks up the clay jar of black liquid and Salutes Guts. "To the crossing of paths and the making of friends." He drinks deeply, and his face screws up slightly. "What is this? It tastes familiar yet completely foreign to me." He takes another draft of the strange liquid. "It does put a pleasant heat in the belly though"

The half giant walks across the room to where Atramor is seated. When he reaches the table he inclines his head and introduces himself.

"I am Vindsval, called the Half-Born, my pardon sir, but Master Guts told me that you have in your possession a piece of armor made from the skin of a Chameleon like beast. I must admit I am intrigued. Would you mind if I examined it?"

Atramor nods to Vindsval, and tosses the Chamelon Vest to the half giant.

"Atramor Gibbin. Sure thing, but I dunno if I'm lookin' to sell it quite yet."

"An honor to make your acquaintance. As for purchase I am sure an item such as this would be beyond my means. But the properties which Guts accounted it were far too amazing in description to not examine."

Vindsval looks down at the skin. Guts was not exaggerating when he said there was only enough to make something crude. Rather than a suit of scaled armor it is only a shimmering vest.

He claimed that it could take on the ability of the last elemental force used on it. A mighty power indeed for such thin skin.

Vindsval removes several gems from his pouch, a Diamond, a Topaz, and an Aquamarine. He places each one near the vest in turn and watches as the vest first glows with a holy light, then crackles with tiny arcs of electricity, then becomes dark as if made of shadows on the waves.

"By the Wanderer, this came from a truly miraculous creature."

He re-pockets the gems

It found you in the Fields? What was it doing on a farm?

"Aye, it was a pain to kill, but we did it. All it took was a buncha chemicals, some playin' cards, and a few knives." Atramor sipped from his bottle of rum. "Hell if I know what it was doin' there, but it's gone now. There's more on that farm than you'd expect, believe me."

"Yes indeed, It would seem so." Vindsval looks more closely at the man in the wide brimmed hat. "Wait a moment, I was eliminated very early on and left shortly there after, but are you not who who won the full glory in the Decamon tournament?"

Hybros waves goodbye to Boomingham and Eric. He sighed. It seemed like the times between quests where he could just relax and talk to the people he considered to be friends were becoming increasingly more fleeting. Throlar began arguing with another hero, so he simply rested on the stool for a while before he spotted Guts. He wandered over to his table and nodded to the Alchemist. "Hello there, Guts, we were just speaking of you, heheh."

Hybros took a seat. "Good, yes, mm, you could say that. These wings are a gift from my people, you could say. I had been separated from them for so long, but now I have found them." He grinned at Guts. "And although I was unable to save a town north of here from an alchemical nightmare, the Guild of Invision has considered that enough experience for me to join their ranks, eheh."

Posted

"Yes, the ways of the alchemist are useful. Watch out for that green stuff they gave you, it tends to blow up. You found your people then? That's great, that's really great. Where were they, where did you find them?"

Hoke slowly blinks as he rouses himself from his thoughts. Seeing his food was delivered, he eats and drinks his fill, but Torc refuses a chunk of meat, having gorged herself in the Fields. After eating, he dumps out the countents of his bag and pouch and sorts through it all.

"Heh, I will keep that in mind. There is another hero who has joined the Guild as well. Ellaria, who was once a druid. She will prove very capable with the healing potions I think, heheh." Hybros sipped from another mug of tea that he had somehow procured. "After many years of searching, I discovered that they were trapped in another realm. Wrongfully so... the paladins of that time took my people's land and sealed them away. I was able to find them with some help from friends in high and low places, heheh. And this..." He showed Guts Zoot's Reaper. It shone crimson in the candlelight. "I am sure you remember this weapon. It is from the realm that my people were trapped in, and with some magic, I was able to open a doorway in that temple below our city. The one where that Ziegfried woman summoned an archdemon that ate Namyrra and William..."

Having sorted his items out, Hoke stows his pack away.

"Come along Torc, we've got some work to do."

He passes by the Questboard on the way out and signs up for Quest 129 & Quest 132.

"I wonder if I can work for the Bonpartes yet refuse their patronage," he thinks aloud.

"Came as close as I could. Got taken out by the...hell, what was it? Emerald Emperor? I dunno. I have distinct memories of seein' him bleed out on the floor of his own palace, so he can play his cards all damn day long. Still a bit surprised he got let go, but, well, a lot of...unexpected things happened on that particular quest." Atramor scratched his chin, shrugged, and took an even longer drink. "Ah well. That was a long time ago now."

"But you now wield the power of the cards. How did that fare for you in the fields. Did you have opportunity to summon creatures to your aid?"

The door creaks open as Karie leans on the door. Her make up was smeared and her hair looked knotted and dishevelled. She hobbled up to the steps, looking pale and tired. Her stomach looked larger, and as Karie made her way to the top of the stairs, it was clear she had been drinking. She moved over to her table and sat down, placing somethings out on the table.

Annienal walks around, noticing the pale woman near the back selling things. Another sale! Annienal approaches the woman who looks at her, seemingly bored.

"You gonna buy anything, or are you gonna chit chat, because I'm not wholly interested in chit chat right now."

"Oh, um... I was wondering how much you wanted for the Sapphire and Helmet?"

"60 gold. Take it or leave it."

Annienal fished around her pockets and handed the pale woman the coin, before picking up both of her new items. She'd have to get the helmet redone, as it was old and tacky looking, but the sapphire looked polished, beautiful, and as blue as the sky.

"Thank you, miss." She nods her head. The woman motions her to move along. "So, um, what's your-"

"Not important at the moment, sorry." Anneinal stammered onward.

"Oh, um, b-but I just-"

"Next!"

Anneinal looked behind her, noticing no one. She frowned and timidly walked away, at least happy she got some new things.

Kare grimaced as she rubbed her eyes. It had been sleepless night after sleepless night with her unresponsive husband. She needed to talk to someone. Her lust for vengeance had been reignited.

"Where the hell is Arthur..."

"Aye." Atramor pulled out his Decamon deck and removed a card without so much as glancing at it, setting it down on his tabletop. After a moment, a tiny Tweetybird materialized on top of it, twittering around Vindsval's head and chirping loudly. "And that's the smallest of 'em. Ya' shoulda' seen the Cloud Gigas..."
