Karie whistles at the half elf mage, trying to get his attention.

"Hey! You! Yeah you! I've got this nice staff (Grumpy's Staff, WP: 10, Fire Staff) that looks like it'd go nicely on your person. Why don't we work something out? I'm willing to barter!" Karie winks, trying to act as seductive as she can with a baby bump.

Hoke re-enters the Hall after an intensively focused training session and a short trip to the Marketplace. The next quest would be the real test of the training though, and Hoke was interested to see Torc in battle finally. They found their usual spot and settled in once more for a bit of a rest.

Warlen raises an eyebrow at the pale woman's attempts to be seductive.

"Sorry, Hon, I've run out of cash completing my Gem collection. Thanks for the offer, though."

"Got anything you're willing to trade? Those bananas, any artefacts... And maybe the rest of your cash."

Vindsval looks at Warlen and Karie "Bargaining." It would appear that the elf is a bit outmatched by the masked vixen.

"The Grumpy Staff appears to be a solid weapon Warlen, you would be well equipped to possess it."

Johon thinks of making an offer for the staff, however can't decide is he should rather let things settle a bit before talking with her again. Instead, he listens, possible to make a counter-offer if the heroes give her a bad deal.

Meet at the pier at the farthest end of the docks across from the fishmarket in a days' time by sunset to give us time to tidy up the passenger decks. We'll be waiting to take you all aboard.

And with that, the short fellow ambles out of the Hall.

After a long and relaxing nap, Dyric awakes to the sound of a crowd shuffling to the quest board. He waits for the group's numbers to thin. Lately he seemed tired in a whole different way - maybe it was all the recent failures. So-called victories tainted by vague morals and loose goals. He kept fighting for peace, and people kept telling him that was a fool's dream. It was ever so slowly starting to wear him down. Baltarok, Karie, the growing influence of Baba - it was all the same. He longed for the days of simplicity.

A man brushed past him, and he was knocked from his thoughts. He needed to focus on the present. Only then could he move forward on any sort of solid path. Seeing the crowd had largely moved away, Dyric approached the Quest Board. He had been chosen for that Magpie mission. He vaguely remembered the crew from Baltarok. Silently he hoped things would go far better this time around.

Thalion snaps back to reality, "Khm,excuse me everyone, I must have dozed off there for a second." He looks around and tries to determine what time it was, "I need to go back to the Marketplace." On his way there he glanced at the quest board, and seeing his name among the heroes chosen for Quest #129 a faint smile appeared on his face. "Hybros!", he waved and called out to his friend, "What do you say we continue our discussion on the deck of the Magpie?". He exited the Hall and headed towards the Marketplace and then towards the meeting place.

Hybros sat back up from his reclined position to get a better look at the notice being posted on the questboard. "Well Guts, looks like we are off again, heheh. I told you to enjoy the down time while you could. I will see you at the docks." Hybros checked his gear. He would need to make a stop at the marketplace before heading out. This would be a bigger party than he was used to, and he would be leading this time.

He noticed Thalion approaching. "Eheh, my friend, I will come with you. I have a few things to purchase myself." He looks back at the Hall, and directs an announcement to the other chosen heroes, not knowing some of them personally. "If anyone needs some extra potions before we leave, let me know. I can get a discount, heheh."

Mortimer glances at the questboard, hope rising in his chest--

He had been chosen.

He takes a few long strides towards the marketplace--he had to prepare. Perhaps this quest would not turn out so poorly as his last.

The Warden quickly returns, a list scrawled hastily yet neatly on a small piece of paper. He approaches Hybros, offering him the list.

"Hybros," he asks. "Can you pick me up Two Ambrosia, Two Mulled Wine, and Two Phoenix Essences? Normally that would cost 340. With 25% off, that's... 255 gold, yes?"

463 - 255 = 208

"Em, it is good to see that you will be coming along on this one, too. I can get those things for you, yes, heheh." Hybros waited and looked around for the other party members to request potions.

I track down Hybros, and make my way towards him. With an earnest smile, I put out my hand for a handshake.

Hybros, right? I'm Dyric Rone. Assassin of the Light? Either way, I don't think we've ever met, but I've definitely heard your name thrown around. I guess when one's been around as long as you have, it'd be hard not to. As for potions, don't worry about me. I've got a decent supply, and besides, I'm flat broke. Well, at the moment. I stick a thumb to the massive crossbow on my back. I've been working to get this thing up to snuff. It's an extensive effort, but I think I'm almost there.

With a smile, Hybros nodded to his new acquaintance. "Dryric Rone, yes I am Hybros. I saw your name on the list. Assassin of the Light, hm? I hope that does not mean you discriminate when it comes to doing what needs to be done, heheh. Although from the looks of it--" he eyed the crossbow. "--you are well trained for such a thing. Ehem, I believe I have heard your name before... you would not happen to be one of the heroes that defeated Wren did you?"

Guts walks up to the Questing board and raises an eyebrow when he sees all the chosen heroes, himself included.

"That's a whole lot of 'heroes'."

The Alchemist shrugs and walks off to make last minute preparations. At least the party would be led by a decent person, and almost all the heroes were people Guts had worked with before. This should be good.

Vindsal looks up as if he can feel the power vacuum created by the mass of heroes leaving the hall.

"By all the god's past and future, that shall truly be a tale in the making."

Hybros nods to the other heroes, and prepares to head to the marketplace. Before doing so, he leaves the Scroll of Luck pinned to the questboard with a note.

Mortimer approaches Karie before he leaves, unsure of how to address her.

"Karie," he manages. "I was told to leave this Bright Polish in your care for Arthur. Tell him he can pay me when I next see him. And this blade is yours."

He pulls Doppelganger, holding it out to Karie hilt-first, returning the sword.

"Travel safe."
