Scubacarrot Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 "Oh really? You must tell me more. An Archdemon! I can't even begin to imagine the ritual required... The sheer logistics." Quote
K-Nut Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 "We've had our fair share of demons over the years. A few years ago a group of heroes took down Mephisto, another archdemon. Then there was this Lady Wren who was trying to resurrect Zoot himself. You'll get your fair share of demonology in this line of work, don't you worry. As for Abraxas, he's been torturing one of the houses in power for years. He's murdered a few of them too, though they were asking for it. Hel, my first quest here saw one of them incinerated in front of me! Now that was a sight to behold..." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 "I've heard about Wren, it's such a shame that she's gone. She's an evil role model. She just got so close to the Void Lord himself. It's a shame Mephisto's resurrection was interrupted, the stories make him seem kind of awesome, in a way. This house you speak of, what did they do to deserve an Archdemon's attention?" Quote
K-Nut Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 "I can't really blame that old witch. With that much power corrupting her, I'd probably end up doing the same thing. Not in my right mind of course..." Althior shrugs. "Probably went back on a deal they made with him years ago. They don't seem like the people who would get on the bad side of a demon, though. They're too 'clean' for that. At least it keeps Abraxas from tearing the city apart." Quote

Bricksandparts Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Before Johon gets a response, Nur's name is called for the quest. "Well then, I suppose that was short." Quote
Jebediahs Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Johon approaches Nur and sits across from him. "Long time, no see, old mate." He greets. "How has life been treating you?" He inquires, fiddling with his pocket-knife. Before Johon gets a response, Nur's name is called for the quest. "Well then, I suppose that was short." "Hhmmmm, hail Alf Johon. I have been faring well of late but could be doing better. My last quest took me off this island and I acquired a few trading cards I had hoped would fetch me a large sum of gold. My dreams were dashed due to the saturation of cards in Eubric because of that tournament. Did you participate in the Decamon Tournament?" Quote
Bricksandparts Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 "Indeed I did. In fact, I ranked 3rd place." He replies, spreading his large card deck in one hand. "Well I shouldn't keep you busy. But perhaps we'll be questing together sometime soon." Quote

Yeah, getting on the bad side of a demon is usually a bad idea, they must be seriously powerful if they are still alive after pissing off an archdemon though." "You seem very calm for someone talking to a demon worshipper." said Throlar interrupting them from the background. "Not that I'm complaining." Calamity shrugged at the dwarf. "You don't know what you're talking about, there's no need to be hostile. I only worship one thing." Quote
K-Nut Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 "They seem to be, but this archdemon is no laughable foe either. The pact must have been made a few generations ago I'm guessing. One day, they'll send a group of us down to eradicate this bastard, and trust me when I say I'll be first in line to go toe to toe with him." He smirks, "Now that will be fun," "Pay no attention to the dwarf. For a self proclaimed diplomat, he's pretty lousy at his job. He's gone off against his so-called allies far too many times. That's not going to get you very far in this place," Quote

StickFig Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 A gnome with a big cannon slides into the hall, doing his best to be inconspicuous, but failing miserably as the Fireball Extraordinaire bangs against first the door, then the floor, then the leg of a table, then a chair. About halfway across the room, Matthias gives up trying to escape notice and just barges up to the bar. A mug of cider slides across the counter and he accepts it without a fuss. Quote
Kintobor Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Karie places Grumpy's Staff (WP: 10, fire staff) more prominently on her table, hoping someone would take a liking to it. Quote
Purpearljellyblob Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Glancing at the quest board after returning to the Hall, Purpearl notices a familiar name scribbled under the Fields and endeavours to look for a familiar face. The heavily armoured elf approaches Karie, "Turns out, the Decamon Tournament is not a false reality." Fanning out the Deamon cards with her hand and a couple of gold coins in her other hand, "Got these as souvenirs. And I haven't forgotten the 25 gold." Purpearl places the gold coins on the table and sits down. "How are things?" Quote

Purpearl places the gold coins on the table and sits down. "How are things?" "Oh, hey, Purpearl!" Karie replies, seeming relatively surprised. Karie scoops up the 25 gold and pockets them, nodding back in approval. "Well, not that great. I've been having... erm, issues with some of the supposed "heroes", but it's nothing to get yourself wrapped up in. My issues with them are mine and mine alone, so don't worry to much. I've been off for the past year slaying demons and banishing arch demons, as well as saving the world from evil incarnate up north. You know, the usual. Well, no, I'm currently in the middle of a pregnancy, but eh, it'll only turn into a nightmare in about four months." Karie looks Pupearl over, noticing her different attire. "Nice armour. What're you now, some sort of mage/knight hybrid?" She laughs to herself. "Seriously though, you look like you're doing good for yourself." Quote
StickFig Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) As gold changes hands around him, Matthias' mind wanders to his own pouch of gold and bag of extra items. Realizing his cider cup is also empty, he gets up without a word and heads to the marketplace. Hours later, the gnome returns to the hall, bored. He finds an empty table and fiddles with his Peashooter. Edited April 12, 2015 by StickFig Quote

I'm sure he or she will bring lots of noise to the Hall. Will you continue to Hero with the newborn?" Purpearl winks. "But I'm glad you banished demons to where they're supposed to be. Wouldn't be able to do that myself even if I wanted to, before I took up armour and shield." Looking at her armour, " Mage/knight hybrid it is, magic by itself is too volatile to handle, I am leaning towards physical strength for that balance. Still in the works, though, might have to take up a spear or halberd or something that pierces, while maintaining the preference for poles and sticks." Jokes Purpearl, and proceeds to clean her staff. Edited April 13, 2015 by Purpearljellyblob Quote

Nope, I'm just glad someone here's getting some success in this hall. I'm looking to hopefully get out to the Fields of Glory. Karie waved her hand at Purpearl at the mention of the Shadeux. "I got no real gripes when it comes to them... except Samuel Shawe. He's a right git. That and Dyric Rone. Let me tell you something. Do not trust that man, no matter how pleasant he may seem at first. I made that mistake, and when it came time to hand cargo over to our employers, him and his prejudiced Metasimian friend turned tail and sided with Shawe instead of our Hinckwell employers. If Dyric Rone doesn't stick, his nickname of "Assassin of the Light" will." Karie drinks from her glass, frowning as her anger rises.
