Karie waved her hand at Purpearl at the mention of the Shadeux.

"I got no real gripes when it comes to them... except Samuel Shawe. He's a right git. That and Dyric Rone. Let me tell you something. Do not trust that man, no matter how pleasant he may seem at first. I made that mistake, and when it came time to hand cargo over to our employers, him and his prejudiced Metasimian friend turned tail and sided with Shawe instead of our Hinckwell employers. If Dyric Rone doesn't stick, his nickname of "Assassin of the Light" will." Karie drinks from her glass, frowning as her anger rises. She scrawls some words on a piece of paper and places it on the table.

Trying to assure Karie, "You are not alone, I had my fair share of similar experiences, not with those names you've mentioned, but dwelling on it only sets you down on a spiraling path. But I agree with you that Heroes here are well-driven, if you get what I mean."

Althior gets up from his table, making his way over to Karie. "Sign me up," He says as he lowers himself to a seat at their table. "I was planning on going myself if nothing else showed up, but I'd be willing to form a little team to do so,"

Purpearl seems to have no objections with the addition of a new teammate and continues to polish her staff.

"Yeah, sometimes a little too well-driven." Karie drank from her glass, noticing a familiar face approach her.

"Quite a bit, actually. I cleared out a crypt after our little trip to the forest, then went to Babeleth and engaged in some, well..." he stalls himself, "personal affairs." It was best to leave out the details. "Did some business with the watch over by the Hanging Gardens, and just got back from Ziegfried Manor on a missions for one of the kids," He glances to the bump on Karie's stomach. "Though you look like you've been up to quite a bit since we last spoke, have you not?"

Talk to Karie to audition!

"Excuse me one moment..."

The Munchkin got up and approached the table where the witch was sitting.

"Pardon the interruption, but what what are the prerequisites for an audition?"

OoC: If I'm too low leveled, obviously feel free to say so - I was just thinking(the more so since the Quest Board's empty)that the 1/6 Instant Kill chances of a back row assassin could be useful in the Fields. But the level difference is of course significant.

Well, you'd better switch classes before we ship out with a visit to the Training Hall.

"Well, are you any good? I got no doubts about Althior, seeing how he's insanely talented, and I trust Purpearl enough with a shield. So what do you do, Sir who hasn't introduced himself yet. At least, I don't remember meeting you." Karie inqusitively looks him over, scrutinizing his gear. If they had met, it'd been awhile.

Althior smirks. "Nice to see someone around here notice..." He mutters before turning to Kaire. "We've already got a shield, and even if he does learn how to become an assassin, I don't think he has enough defenses to be anything but cannon fodder. And even if he manages to stay alive, he'll spend too much time picking up his knives. He also looks a bit too, well..." He scans the Knight "Boyish, for my tastes,"

"They call me - or rather, I call myself, and no one else does - the Gray Foxer. Lind Whisperer - Black Knight Munchkin, although my skill-sets can also potentially reach to assassin. I've been on two prior Fields jaunts, and can cite both Lady Akrone and Chief Hogan as character witnesses. The revered Alfendi Lupine could attest to my fighting skills, except for the tiny part where I killed him."

"Well, you're too manly for my tastes, mame.

And they're cards, not knives."

OoC: True - until Germ gets back I am rather under-weaponed.

"Is being too manly an insult now?" Althior smirks, then lets out a full out laugh. "Cards? Really? That's not really working in your favor, kid,"

"Besides, your recommendation's you speak of mean absolutely nothing. You could have a recommendation from Happy Hogan the cabbie and it would hold as much weight as yours. All that tells us is that you finished some jobs for some people. Should I go get my "character witness" from Ulric Wolfkin? It'll definitely get me hired for some jobs, seeing as I completed one, let alone whatever consequences there were,"

"Waaaiiiiit a minute.

Ulric Wolfkin.

A pompous death-lover.

You were part of that party that betrayed the Veterans in that reconnaissance mission a few months back, aren't you?!"

Skrall stirs turning his head from side to side inspecting the room. The fields were open again and he wouldn't mind a good jaunt of adventure. Seeing Karie's name affixed to the sign-up sheets the ogre walked over to the witch's table where she and a mage were in conversation with a cloaked individual. "Heading out to the fields, I see. Reckon' ya could use a Hunter onboard?"

Althior turns away from the Munchkin and looks to Skrall. "Undoubtedly," He nods. "It's good to see you again, Skrall. It's been a while. What have you been up to?"

Karie hands Skrall the sign up sheet.

"Haven't seen you in awhile! Pull up a chair, I'll be with you once I grill this fellow." She points at Lind, grinning.

"They call me - or rather, I call myself, and no one else does - the Gray Foxer. Lind Whisperer - Black Knight Munchkin, although my skill-sets can also potentially reach to assassin. "I don't care what names you go by. You could be named Table and I really wouldn't care. Alfendi Lupine... name rings a bell, although if you killed him alone then he mustn't of been too big of a hassle. That and I don't care about your sexual preferences, Lind Whisperer, all I care about is that you can hit enemies." Karie nearly bursts into laughter at the mention of Lind's Cards. She drinks a bit of water to calm herself down, looking amused.

"And what exactly do you do with a deck of cards, Lind? I mean, most knights carry a sword, don't they?" Karie unsheathes Sexy, tossing it in her hands and showing off her rapier.

"You were part of that party that betrayed the Veterans in that reconnaissance mission a few months back, aren't you?!"

"And... where's the proof, Gray Foxer?" Karie replies looking irritated and unamused.

The Munchkin didn't respond, instead he simply dropped the Newspaper with Picture of Lupine in front of her on the table - with the picture of Lupine featured prominently.

"You throw them, enemies get sliced up." The Munchkin pulled out his deck, and flipped through it calmly, slowly, running his fingers down the edges of the cards - and suddenly he threw a single one out.

With the clink of clay, Karie's water cup fell apart in two pieces, sliced perfectly down the middle.

"Try doing that with a sword. And then, try doing it from fifty feet away."

"And... where's the proof, Gray Foxer?" Karie replies looking irritated and unamused.

"If you mean why do I think he's him, well, we've got very few Necromancers as heroes, so that narrows the numbers down in the first place. There was someone called Althior Emorith on that quest who was a necromancer - check the board if you don't believe me - and there's someone named Althior Emorith written down on your list there. Now, I could be wrong, but the chances of someone having that exact name and being a necromancer - well, I'll be surprised if I'm wrong.

If by proof, you mean proof as their betrayal of the Veterans, well, then you must be either newer than I am, or have been on a very, very long quest. Munchkins don't leave our forest en masse for anything, but the elders almost considered sending a delegation to Eubric, it shook the forest so. If you want proof beyond word of ear, I can't give you that, but feel free to ask the Veterans if you don't believe me."

Skrall signed up for the Fields of Glory. "Atramor it has been awhile, nearly three years now wasn't it? Ya look... good. This an' that, travelin' all over. Was in Xu, not too long ago leadin' a coup. Yourself? According to this fine gentleman here, sounds like ya've been havin' a good go at it, eh?" Skrall ordered a tankard of ale and sat down at the table. The hunter looked at the Black Knight, "If ya haven't learned anything yet my good man, it's that this whole business is a complicated one, I'd be careful with the accusations as well. Those things are best settle outside not in."

"You try doing that from fifty feet away, not fifteen inches," Althior gives a nod of approval before turning to the Munchkin.

"You are out of your depth," he growls, slowly. "I did what had to be done. I apologize if I overlooked the perimeters of the reward to free a child and had mercy on a poor womans soul," He pauses. "Did your Elders tell you that?"

"It's been a little over three years since that trip to the forest. I was a different man then," Very different, he thought. "You were with Regulus weren't you? He and I were over at Ziegfried Manor a few days ago to help out with one of the kids."

"Yes, with a dragon. Haven't seen him since I got back though. Different man you say? Look the same to me, but then again humans tend to all blend together after awhile. Zeigfried's still around are they? It's a wonder they haven't burned their house down and half the city with it yet."

"Nor have I. He was talking about how sick he was of the business right as we were wrapping up. Turns out he is a Ziegfried after all. He expected them to welcome him with open arms. Now let me tell you, that was a sight to behold. Things have happened, though I guess they're things that happen to everyone eventually. It came to me a bit early." He chuckles. "It's really a wonder none of the house have burned down yet. I was at the Invision Guildhouse a few months back. Saw some equipment that could've definitely destroyed the place. Then again, they don't have a demon in their basement,"

Karie shrugs.

"First time I've heard of this.

If you don't like the thought of working with a man you claim to be a traitor, move along, Whisperer. This isn't the crowd for you." Karie states calmly, motioning for another table for Lind to sit at.

Fields of Glory Party Sign Up

-Karie Alderflask (Level 28.66 Witch)- Proposed Party Leader

-Purpearl Berthadhiell (Level 20 Mystic Knight)

-Althior Emorith (Level 47 Necromancer)

-Skrall (Level 41 Hunter)

Karie turns her attention to Althior and Skrall.

"What's this about Arthur? I haven't seen him in a long time. I've got some stuff to hand over to him." Karie asks the two, trying to catch up with the conversation.

It...loses something in translation."

Skrall chuckled. "Don't we all? Sorry to hear the lad's left, understandable and all. Ya spend yer whole life chasin' after somethin' only to find out it wasn't really what ya were expectin'." Skrall drained his tankard before looking at the black knight, "You're a card shark with a nose for secrets and odd sayings, why'd ya choose to take up the mercenary's mantle?"

"Let 'im speak Alderflask. I'm sure Althior can say more as to Regulus."

The Black Knight shrugged. "It was either that, or stay home in the Forest, and raise mushrooms. Not that there's anything wrong with mushrooms, mind you, although I never quite got the taste for them - they're just too, too...too mushroomy.

I'd done my years of studying, learned my lessons - I thought I'd go out, and take a look around the world before I'd start spending the rest of my life spreading manure - see what the world could teach me that books and scrolls couldn't. And the Hall was the only place that could give me that opportunity."
