"If you don't like the thought of working with a man you claim to be a traitor, move along, Whisperer. This isn't the crowd for you."

"You've quested with Sir Regulus? Perhaps I have been slightly hasty in judgement..."

Theres no way the kid would last; he changes his mind whenever he upsets someone, Althior thinks. He looks to Karie "Turns out the kid is a Ziegfried. We were over at Ziegfried Manor helping out one of the kids with her nightmares. He seemed pretty comfortable over there, and I wouldn't be surprised if he left the business to be with them,"

"Interesting - would you mind elaborating further on your viewpoint of the incident?"

"I'll tell you everything you need to know. When he saw a way out, this dwarf here abandoned his party and sold them out; framed them for a crime that they had not committed. He got himself beaten half to death before fleeing back to the city. This was all after when he attempted to foil our plans to rescue another child from mutants..."

Eyeing the sign up sheet while the little conversation is happening within ear shot, Purpearl nods respectfully at Althior and Skrall, "Forgive my late introduction, I'm Purpearl Berthadiell and I appreciate your vote of confidence as the party's shield from skilled warriors like yourselves. I hope I can live up to the great achievements previous shield-bearers have made for themselves. Otherwise, a great team for the fields, and I have no objections to the current lineup."

Althior smirks, "I'm sure you can hold your own in the field, Miss Berthadiell. Your shield will be much appreciated,"

"Well met Purpearl Berthadiell, I've seen you a time or two before in the hall but never had the pleasure. I've quested with many a good shield bearer in my days, keep yoer feet set and your eyes fixed ahead and I'm sure you'll do fine. What's yer Heroica experience thus far, escortin', bandits, monsters, subterfuge?"

The Black Knight cocked his eye, curious. "Interesting - would you mind elaborating further on your viewpoint of the incident?"

"Well, we where chosen for a quest that could've helped save the world, or at least this city, to discover the true nature of Baba the witch from the Keeper of the tower of Babel and this bastard and his friends sold the veterans out, went over the the Wolfgang, for money, don't you dare deny that, you admitted it to me, you even told me the exact amount right in this hall, blew up the Tower, and had the bloody gall to blame the whole thing on me."

"You where the ones who chose to be party to a murder, wether you actually committed it or not is immaterial, and as for the mutants... I wanted to get that boy out of there too, but unlike you, I was captured with him, and I saw the people inside, there where innocent people in there, there were children in there, and it didn't matter f they were mutants or not. You were the ones who went in attacking everything in sight, and I admit I would probably have done the same, but the fact is, I saw the other side of the story, and you were in the wrong. All I did was try to stop the needless violence, so I failed to do so, sue me." Edited by Lord Duvors

Althior smirks, "I'm sure you can hold your own in the field, Miss Berthadiell. Your shield will be much appreciated,"

"Sir Regulus's shield, actually. And word of warning, instead of fighting, she'll be spending half of your battles trying to convince the enemies to sit down and have a tea party."

"I'm very interested in hearing the response to that. All we ever heard was that they betrayed the Veterans - there was never anything about any money. Was there anyone else within earshot when he told you the amount? And what is this crime he's claiming you framed the party for?"

"Sure to keep that in mind. Anyhow, not too many quests under my belt, started out as a mage with some detective work with the Town Watch, crossed the sea to Baltarok and the High Kingdoms disguised as performers to retrieve the key to stop an impending war, earned the title of the Carnival Crusader, came back to Eubric and got played out by the Master of Regret and finally helped the village of Hoogan rid of reptiles with talking mechanical pets. If I got anything out of this, never make deals with demons, they will turn everyone against you and you will always end up with the short end of the stick. Dawned on me that fighting isn't always the answer to everything, and Copper Fox showed me the path of the knight and the shield."

"Sir Regulus's shield, actually.

"A kind gesture it is."

And word of warning, instead of fighting, she'll be spending half of your battles trying to convince the enemies to sit down and have a tea party."

"A potentially rewarding process foiled by your gluttony, and I'm magnanimous enough not to chime in on your antics on that mountain in front of seasoned Heroes."

"Clearly, the dwarf here could learn a little from your morals," He jests, ignoring the specifics of what Throlar had said.

The Munchkin looked at her for a long moment, then began to cheerfully laugh. "Seasoned heroes? Gluttony? A Battle Mage that didn't seem like he was there half the time, and a Druid that knocked himself out. My gluttony? My dear Mystic, if you think that I was why your 'process' failed - well, let's just say, I'm not the most naive Hero here." Edited by Lind Whisperer

"You're a close second to the dwarf," Finnegan Snickers.

Karie crosses her arms.

"Well he's got business with me still, as I've got his stuff. I don't know why, but everyone gave his stuff to me en mass. Hehe, well, I guess I should be happy for him. I'm glad he managed to get out of the business in one piece.

It's going to be quieter around here without him. It's like more and more people keep moving on. I still remember meeting Arthur for the first time... what a weirdo." Karie laughs to herself, reminiscing about her brief time questing with him.

Purpearl casts her sights swiftly at the druid sitting not far away and reaches for the water jug, smiling, "You've a hundred and fifty years to go, fellow Heroican..." The elf turns away and pours water for herself and Karie. "Althior, Skrall, does water go down well for you, or do you prefer something stronger?"

"I do care, actually." Karie replies, giving Lind a mischievous grin.

"Same here, and I hope him well."

Karie nods to Purpearl as she pours a drink for her.

"Thank you! Why not a small toast to Arthur Justice Regulus the whatever number he is in the lineage, I think it's seven. A damn fine hero, and a damn fine linguist. Here here!"

After the witch had finished getting her drink, Lind poured himself a cup of water. "Seconded. To Sir Regulus, the strategist!" Edited by Lind Whisperer

"Damn straight. He was naive, ill-experienced, just a plain in the megablocks at times..." Can't say I don't envy him, Althior thinks to himself. He was not going to let any of these people know that, though.

"That is not happening," Althior takes a sip of his drink on his own. First Haldor, then the kid, who'd be the next to quit on the fight? It wouldn't be him, that was for sure.

"Was this the same kid that sided with a power-hungry witch determine to bring Zoot to our plane? Not mention his eternal infatuation with a Harlot. What some people might have called him hopeful and optimistic, I called him naive. He only saw a world with good, and it was going to get him killed. It's a good thing he got out while he still could,"

"Then we definitely aren't talking the same person, because when it came to interacting with the world around him, instead of his fellow heroes, the person I'm talking about was tired, cynical, and depressed. "Tired, Cynical, and Depressed... Sounds like the kid did have this place figured out. I guess he did learn something from me after all," he mutters. I'll toast to that.

As Keliim is sitting in the corner of the hall with his eyes closed, after awhile he slumbers away and goes into deepsleep, not noticing nor hearing anything of what is going around him.

~The big man dreams of and finds himself in a pitch black place, some flash of lights. He looks around and starts walking around, everything is black. Not a sound, not a peep can be heard. When Keliim has walked for awhile he comes to a blue pathway that goes to the right, to the left and straight forwards. A blue pathway in the middle of blackness, he starts thinking "I have been here before" and chooses to walk the bluepath straight forwards...

Keliim wakes up from his sleep as there seems to be some movement around the questboard.

He gets up and goes to the questboard but as walks over there he bumps into the black knight that stands by a table with a mixed squad of people. The Munchkin spills some of his drink on the table and the big ogre sitting a the table.

"I humbly apologies for knocking into thou and making thou spill thy drinketh! I will geteth thou a new one after I hast look'd the questboard. What do thou drinketh?"

One the questboard there is actually a new quest, Quest#133: A Walk Through the Parlor. Sounds intresting and Keliim axe hand is already thirsting for some battle, so he writtes his name Keliim down for Quest 133: A walk through the Parlor.

And then he goes over to the bar and get a new drink for the Munchkin and a mead for himself.

Darksten awoke with a bit of a start, hoping after a second that he hadn't been snoring. Clearly his training had taken a toll...

Hoping that he hadn't missed getting selected for a quest, Darksten quickly strolled over to the quest board and after a moment signed his name up to Quest #133.

Thinking that he better start throwing his name onto every quest because he had been passed over one to many times for his liking, he turned to search for Karie.

Not knowing who Karie was however, he was left scanning the room, finally deciding that the cluster of heroes was probably where he needed to go.

Unknowingly approaching the group which Karie was apart of, the new assassin spoke up...

"Excuse me Ladies and Gentlemen is there a Karie here who I could speak to about going to the Fields of Glory?"
