Asphalt Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 "Well, you're going to be only one once I'm finished. Hopefully if I get on this dragon quest, I'll be closing this part of my life and Minstrelling it up in this hall! Music all the time, every time!" Karie's body and soul are clearly ready for rock and roll. Vindsval is Somewhat taken aback, he is used to walking alone, but to be the only one. "Is there something about this path that I do not yet know? Why is it such an unpopular one. The power it holds at its end seems substantial. Why is it there are no other who walk it?" He is also rather confused by all the discussions going on around him since his return. It is obvious there are many factions within this city. But where to place his alliance? Quote
K-Nut Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 "Maybe we should just have that Vorpal dragon fellow come over here and conquer us, maybe we'd have a leader then." I quip. "These are pretty dismal times, you got that right..." Althior smirks. "You're not wrong," He leans back in his chair, sipping his drink. "You're not wrong..." he repeats. Quote

"Some people view witchcraft as a taboo, and see it as old crones who sit around their cauldrons and mutter incantations to hex people and cause unborn children to be born with three eyes, or six fingers on each hand. Really, I never did any of that. I wanted to heal others and be helpful in that department, but it's not what I really wanted in the first place. I wanted to perform, and so after I get in good graces with the Hinckwells I'm jumping ship. Also, most of our rogue-ey types become arrogant raiders or assassins, and the clerics tend to go druid or paladin." Karie shrugs her shoulders. "Trust me, there ain't no shame in being unique. I can tell you that from experience!" Quote

I seek only to master that which kills, and to turn it upon those who would use it to oppress the weak. Tell me Karie, I am new to the politics of the city. Endgame Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 A rather tall, rather quiet man toting a rather lethal looking handcannon walks into the Hall, completely unassuming. "Then I don't think I need to tell you what it is you need to do." Karie replies. "If you're using your powers to defend those who can't, you're worth hanging around." Karie ponders on Vindsval's question. "This hall's ideals stand for protecting those who can't normally protect themselves. Of course, we're mercenaries through and through, but I would hope that there is an air of decency here. Not everyone here is a nice person, and not everyone here is trustworthy, nor even friendly. I wouldn't be worried about the leaders, so much as the other heroes in this hall. I can't tell you who to trust, but I'd be careful of anyone who tries to rally people blindly. Know anybody like that?" Karie inquires. Quote

But if the drunkard continues his rabble rousing upon waking, I may send him further than a corner. It is well to know that there are those who may be deemed true of heart. It shames him that even hardened worries are intimidated by his nature, but there is little to be done for that which the Wander saw to forge him into. "Well Met Althior, I am Vindsval, Called the Half-Born, Desciple of the Wanderer, Walker of the Witchery Way. Yes, the Whisperer, the Gray fixer, the Pear Spitter, he seems to have many titles. indeed I put him in a corner. I had thought I was able to speak sense into him, but not all men are created to hold drink, and further measures were needed. There are times when being larger than your average bull has its uses." Vindsval warms to the attention, he is not often sought out as the foremost player in a comedy. Usually there is more screaming and shouts of "monster call the guard." He is beginning to like it in this Hall. Edited June 29, 2015 by Asphalt Quote

A companion of mine has often commented that I know far too little of my heritage. My father was an Ogre, a druid of some renown among his tribe. But he left to travel to the far north. I never knew my father and lost the rest of my family, but I was lucky enough to still be enveloped in the culture of my parents far in the west. I wouldn't get your hopes up about Babeleth. StickFig Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 ...rather lethal looking handcannon... Matthias stares at the strange figure downing moonshine gumballs at the bar, or - more accurately - stares at his handcannon. What a piece of gear that is! the gnome thinks to himself. As if on cue, the man hoists the handcannon up (having finished 3 of his drinks already) and begins polishing it with a rag, noting how filthy it got after dragging it long the hall floor. Quote
Asphalt Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Vindsval looks at the commotion at the Bar. By the Gods, that is one impressive Cannon. Though I wish he would be more careful. Between the number of drinks he has consumed and the fervor with which he is polishing his barrel, I fear it may go off in his face. He looks to the side where the large hatted Gnome stand with his mouth agape. Be careful my friend, if he sees you staring at his hardware he may take offense. Quote
