"Have to agree with Skrall on that one." Purpearl approaches, "So far we've heard only one side of the story, there has to be more than just dragons behaving off their chops." says the mystic knight as she begins to polish her Zelphie Staff.

"He must have his hands full... How long ago was the child born?"

"Not too long ago. A few weeks? I came back from the fields and a few days after that me and Masson rushed to the Sisters of Danab." Karie replies.

"I'm glad." Arthur checks around to make sure Miirym isn't listening, but it appears the golden dragon has found something to occupy her somewhere else. "I know it's different with Dragons, but between you and me, 'parenting' can be a little hard to grasp, you know? Like, on the one hand, it's an incredible joy to watch your little one learn and grow, but on the other hand, there's always this gnawing fear you could be doing better. Still, I'm lucky Miirym hatched pretty much armed and ready for basic survival--you and Masson must have your hands full with a human child. Not that Miirym herself isn't a handful at times--she's gotten extraordinarily good at wrapping me around her little finger." Arthur looks affectionately upstairs, towards the last place he'd seen Miirym, blissfully unaware he'd said anything wrong.

"Oh, well that's good to hear. I've heard so much about this dragon of yours." Karie states, sounding interested. "I'll be honest, I've never met a dragon before, and I'd prefer to at least keep them at arms length away. Not that I have a thing against them, it's just... you know... they're big. And they're scary.

Oh, please. Rachelle's been in the house for at least three weeks, and she eats and she cries and she sleeps and then it repeats. After I get home from this dragon slaying nonsense- sorry, if I get on this expedition to slay this dragon, then I'm giving Masson some time to do what he likes."

Calamity turns to face Vindsval. "I don't think we've met, I'm Calamity."

Greetings. I am Vindsval, called the Half Born. You have the feel of Darkness around you small one. Tell me, do all those who hail from your home carry heads around with them?

"No. He'll probably go out and tinker with things. He likes machines and what not." Karie replied.

You said he was on leave from the whole Syndicate thing, right? Because of the baby, or...?

...And yes, I do occasionally tee off. I have hobbies."

"Hmph. People are intelligent too and do bad things. Dragons are no different. If this dragon burned down half of my country, there will be no being reasonable."

Jinnipher greeted the stranger in elvish. "Maybe." She shrugged. "But if dragons are as intelligent as they're made out to be, then it knew very well what it was doing. Actions have consequences. If someone pissed it off it should've calmed down before setting an island ablaze."

"If someone were to constantly comment on your every thought and movement you make, even it is less than persecutory, even the most intelligent being on Olegaia would lose the ability to pull it together. From experience." Purpearl shrugs. "That is for whoever's chosen to find out."

"Yes, he was originally into engineering and what not, but life is unpredictable at times. I mean, I'm a shining example of that." Karie laughs awkwardly before realizing she would have to fess up sooner rather than later. She scrunches her face up as she debates her words.

"Masson... he's... alright." Karie responds. "I never said you didn't have hobbies. Although I didn't take you for golf."

EDIT: Retconned. Chosen Heroes will be put up today.

Arthur smiles at his house-guests. "Honestly, it's just good to hear your voices, especially yours, Karie. It's been far too long."

"I don't want to keep you, though. It's getting late, and I'm sure Masson will want to see you before you head off again. Feel free to drop by anytime, though--odds are, I'll be here."

~ Returning from the Caliph´s Parlor, through the portal, Keliim feels that he need to take a break from all this adventuring.

He heads for the forest and wildlife outside Eubirc.

He had some strange feelings after being scared by the demon-queen, like she was crawling under his skin. Like it wasn´t enough that he were haunted by Karain the shadow and what nightmares he had caused him. He try to take control of him while sleeping.

Also the vision of remembering some off his past life memories, haunted him. So it was a good thing to get away from all this, into the free and open, all alone.

The feelings he had had inside the Parlor, sensing the creatures that dwelled inside it. It was something different, something he hadn´t felt for a long time.

He could remember now something from his childhood, something his mother had thought him. His mother had been an healer and a ranger, a witch in the noblemen´s speech. But she was no witch, she was only a human of the nature, skilled in living side by side with it.

And she had tried to teached her children the same things she knew. But not all of my breathren had the skill, just my mother, me and my older sister.

When walking through the woods, trying to sence something, anything. He walked into an opening in the middle of the forest, a meadow, a beautiful place. It had an huge tree in the middle and was surrounded by plants and flowers.

There had to be something peaceful and special about it when a rough up warrior like Keliim felt this way. He got close to the Huge tree, suddenly he got an other memory from his childhood, this tree look almost like a huge old tree where he and his friends used to play.

A few weeks had past since that, the big man walks through the Hall doors, goes to the quest board and checks it. "Two quests open, one ´bout some death worshippers and the other ´bout magic.

Both seems the could have some adventure in them... maybe the quest "Around the world" more then the other but who knows, it sounds more intresting.

And the employer is the old and Great Guffin´ton himself, that was the man who owns the big manor." he thinks. He writes down his name Keliim for both the Quest 137 and Quest 139.

Then he goes up the stairs and over to the bar and sits down. He wishes a good evening to the tavern keeper Scheherazade,

heroicanpc-scheherazade2.jpg

"You seem like in need for a drink, have you had an hard quest behin´?"

16580412818_113a708a52_s.jpg

"Aye, the usual hero business. Meeting up with all kinds of vermin and double-crossing NPC and then talking spiders what turn out to be a demon mind control that scared thee with so kind of oaths... Aye an usual day."

heroicanpc-scheherazade2.jpg

"Haaha, yea sound like everyday business here at Heroica! Here´s some mead, is there something else I can do for thy?"

16580412818_113a708a52_s.jpg

"A couple of mead would do great and some of that fine chicken thy have?"

Keliim thanks for the meads and drinks them both, "So been waitin for that." Then he order a couple more.

Lookin around to see if there was someone he knew or something intresting to see but the scars on his both arms took up his concentration. Keliim started thinking what he had put himself in when looking at the Spider tattoo scar, and he drifts away in his thoughts.

Vindsval walks up to each of those he knows, who were chosen to fight the dragon.

Farewell to each of you my friends. Be strong, be wise, and may the Wanderer guide your Path.

"Before I go, Arthur... Not sure if you've noticed, but I've finally had the gall to go necromancer. I don't suppose you could thank your family for me?

...And will Noel be back soon? I'd atleast like to say hello."

A drunken orc stumbles into the hall and pins a notice to the board before making his way out.

"Whatever that means..." Jinnipher spots King Faust enter and post a notice. She looked down at him from the saloon in surprise. She turned back to Purpearl. "Well, see you later sister."

She walked down the stairs and read the notice. She grinned. It was time to go home.

In one corner of the Hall, a Munchkin awakens with a throbbing headache.

18778734752_c16ece0935_t.jpg

"..."

He looks across the Hall.

"Great - signups closed, and thanks to your stupidness, Lind, you probably missed them. There's a reason you drink water, there's a reason you drink..."

His eyes drifted down to his chest.

"Okay...does anyone know why I'm dressed like a street gigolo?"

He slumped over to the board, clutching at tables and posts.

"And why I'm signed up to fight a dragon...This is not my day..."

"Thank you, nice half-giant person that spotted me a couple gold once."

Karie gets up from her seat and nods. "Thank you for your time, Arthur. We'll have to get together and talk when I have some spare time. And best of luck in that town you're going to, Sorrow." With that Karie makes her way out of the house in a rather rushed manner. Realizing she is to go off to Moone, she spends a peaceful night with her family before needing to head out. Despite being in a good position, Karie still felt antsy. She wondered just what was going on with the Sandman, and his correlation with Masson, as well as the safety of her and her husband's child.

Throlar, somewhat less than sober, slid out of his seat and walked off. Muttering to himself about something.

Vindsval watches the much smaller greenskin stagger up to the quest board. He moves over to see his name listed among those to venture to the land of the dead.

It seems my Path, will take to to the land of the Sleepers who Walk.

He rummages around in his gear pouches. Hmm rather depleted. Time to visit the marketplace before departing for this Luminous Passage. By the Gods this city is enormous.

Being light of pocket, and the Halls being surprisingly quiet, the Munchkin left for the docks.

"Actually, I was meaning to talk to you about that... See, not long after I left Heroica, I remembered someone...someone who I shared a...unique connection with, someone I met as a Hero who wanted nothing to do with Heroica. The problem is, I haven't been able to find her. It's like she vanished from Eubric the moment we parted. I don't want to hold you up right now, but afterwards, if you get a chance...could you perhaps look into the realm of the dead and tell me if you find someone named Lynne?"

As if on cue, the door slams and Noel's voice rings out.

heroicanpc-noelziegfried.jpg

"Arthur, did I just see Karie walk out of here?"

Arthur quietly speaks to Sorrow before Noel enters the dining room.

16306387965_97c0811ab4_t.jpg

"Like I said, another time, when you get the chance." He turns to greet his half-brother as he walks in, a struggling plate clutched in the half-elf's hands. "Yeah it was. Want me to take that while you get your Scroll?"

heroicanpc-noelziegfried.jpg

"Er--" Noel's eyes flicker over to Sorrow for a moment. "Nah, man, I got this. How's it going, Sorrow?"

Arthur raises an eyebrow but doesn't speak as Noel struggles upstairs with the uncooperative dish. A resounding thud echoes from upstairs, and a moment later Noel reappears, leaning casually against the wall as he nods at Sorrow.

As he walks out, Warlen nods to his companions of Quests past, and 'accidentally' hits Lind with the hilt of his sword, before exiting to the marketplace.

Hey, Noel - it's been going pretty well. I'm a necromancer now, so if you need a dead thing to be less dead, you know who to ask. How have you been?"
