The doors to Heroica Hall boomed open as a majestic, blue robed figure swept in. "Did somebody order A LARGE HAM?!I AM ARASMYTH!" he bellowed. "Highly esteemed mage from the kingdom of Ennon!" He nearly fell flat on his face when no-one turned to look at him. "Grumble grumble... mutter mutter..." he walked up to the Quest board and looked it over. "What's this?! NO OPEN QUESTS?!" he fumed. "FINE! I shall while away my time in the Library while I wait for this horrid atrocity to be righted!"

Finding no quests available on the questboard, William Harkenshire stalks over to the bar and orders a tequila on the rocks. He looks around to see if there are any other members of the Ranger Corps in Heroica.

"Oh there is me" said the hooded ranger. That ranger was Elgfar who sat down. He looked down, Elgar said "why Bacari, he was great fellow. Even though he ruined on of my steaks he was a great fellow."

After that Elgar ordered a drink

Bacari? Who be this Bacari you talk about? Nice to know another ranger, at least you're not disgraced......

Kara stopped outside the doors to Heroica, looking up at the impressive building with a slight doubt on her mind. The last year she had wandered, not doing much of anything outside of traveling, and had finally wound up here at Eubric, home of the renowned Heroica. This was the best shot at doing something good with her life that she had run into in awhile, the chance to join a group of heroes going out specifically to right wrongs, what else could one ask for? Taking a deep breath, Kara pushed open the doors to the entrance, taking a step into the cooler entrance hall from the hot warm air outside. Surprisingly, it was quiet inside, two large stairways ahead, with a board on the ground level and a bar above. For such a well known organization boasting many heroes, it sure was empty. Of course Kara figured this meant everyone was out elsewhere doing something of noble intentions, and that she was late to getting to the party. She'd just have to make up for lost time on her first few quests, that was all.

She headed towards the Questboard, but outside of a few lists of recruited heroes for recent quests, there was nothing current to be signed into. Sighing with a shrug of her shoulders, Kara straightened out her ponytail quickly before turning back towards the stairs that surrounded the edges of the lobby. Might as well get a drink, some food and meet any other heroes left behind until something came up that she could join. A short trek up the stairs revealed a mostly empty bar, only two Rangers at the bar, a few others at various tables and Scheherazade once again cleaning the floor. Sitting down at one of the empty tables, Kara quickly removed her cloak and sword from her back, setting them down on the bench next to her. Placing her shield atop of the rest of her items, she smiled with a slight stretch, glad to be rid of the weight once again.

"Can I get you anything, darling?" The Orc barmaid asked as she passed by.

"Um, just a water." Kara answered, glancing up from staring at her katana. "A large, large glass if you have one."

Scheherazade nodded and headed back to the bar, tending to the two Rangers before returning quickly to Kara's table, a large glass in one hand and a pitcher of water in the other. Kara's smile back properly said more thanks than the small "thanks" she muttered as she poured a full glass as the barmaid returned to the bar, downing it quickly before filling another. This second one she spilled more civilized, but obviously she should have brought more water with her on the last leg of her journey. Glancing around the bar and seeing nothing of particular interest, Kara turned back to her glass and stuff. A new cloak would be needed soon, her current one was worn. Some new armor wouldn't hurt either, the ancient chainmail she wore was old and torn; and at one point in her journey she'd had to trade her breastplate for passage on a ship. Still, that could be fixed later with a trip to the market, though she didn't have much gold left to spend…

Haldor returned in good spirits, the quest had failed but he did not see it that way. He had aquire lots of loot and had become more experianced in combat, he then walked up to Nur and Skrall. He sat down with them and asked them how they thought it had gone.

He also reminded them that they needed to divide up the chalice's worth.

Seeing Haldor the hall and starting to here his tale of brave Elgar assumed the first quest went well. Elgar sat down with the Norseman, after hearing the tale Elgar hoped the town guard would assign a new quest here but Elgar knew that wasn't likely. After sitting down with a drink now in a slightly more active hall a smile crept across his face for the first time in days :classic:

LOOT (Crystal Chalice - 70 gold):

25 gold - Haldor

25 gold - Skrall

20 gold - En Sabah Nur

En Sabah Nur handed his comrades 25 gold each. He listened as Haldor recounted the events of the Dozenhands mission to Elgar. "I too am curious as to whether the Town Watch will seek assistance from the 'Hall again. When he has no choice (and after he's calmed down) I'm sure Lilbelly will be looking for heroes once again. As big of a problem as Dozenhands is, the Captain may be posting the mission again. Perhaps you could even sell the new party your map, Haldor." Nur chuckled. "No, I'm sure Donny would use a different set of tunnels or have a completely different escape route all together."

En Sabah Nur fiddled with his loaded die as he stared across the 'Hall. He spotted Scheherazade. "Your Sham, wa-is he much of a party-goer?" The orc appeared to be confused. "Eh, nevermind." Nur continued to finger his die as he thought about his budding alliegence with the Wolfgang. The dark mage grinned.

Scheherazade put her hands on her hips. "Exactly what are you insinuating? My precious son does not spend his time at parties, he travels the world selling rare and wondrous items. You can recognize him from his large backpack, wide brimmed hat and friendly, if a bit toothy, smile. He's not exactly fully orc, either... But that is another story, one that I wish not to tell."

I walk back into the Hall after a long walk. I notice with slight dissapointment that many heroes have leveled up, and that I have missed several Quests. I notice, however, that one Quest recently ended, and decide to stick around in hope that a new one will come soon.

Arasmyth returns from a most informative reading session at the Library. He sees three new faces in the hall - A hulking ogre, a dark-skinned human mage, and a cleric. However, they didn't look like fresh new heroes. Far from it, actually. They seemed tired and battle weary, so Arasmyth assumed that they had just returned from a Quest. He sat down at the bar next to a young lady Knight.

"It looks like the current Questers have started to return, eh? Perhaps we shall get chosen for some the next batch of Quests. I look forward to working with you - my name is Arasmyth, I'm a highly renowed sorceror from the lands on the border of Ennon and Baltorak."

News of Skrall's party's return had seemed to have already permeated the remaining inhabitants of the hall, so much so that people assumed he had already entered even before he had set foot across the threshold  The ogre strode across the hall towards the table where En Sabeh Nur and Haldor sat, as he approached them he ordered a tankard of ale from the bar maid. Sitting himself down, Skrall removed his ram horn pipe and lit its contents taking a few contented puffs on his pipe.

"Well mates, now how much do ya suppose we ought to disclose to our fellow heroes?"

As he asked the question Nur slid a small pouch of gold from the sale of the chalice. The ogre nooded his thanks and received his tankard as the orc maid came round the table.

"Good day to ya my good sir. I don't believe we've had the pleasure yet. Sit yerself down and have a drink. [skrall orders another tankard for the stranger] Ah, it's good to be back, not that earnin' a fair amount of gold ain't agreable, but ya see our last quest led us through a terrible stretch of sewers and I could barely stand the stench myself and that's something strong even fer an ogre."

I chuckle lightly, then offer my hand. I'm Dyric Rone. I come from a family of 'noble' rogues- I ignore the chorus of groans from people who have heard this story five too many times- who helped the rulers track down all kinds of scum. After they discovered our actions, however, they exiled me from the coutnry I hope I can redeem myself by joining in the quests of these fellow heroes, and return home.

"Ah so yer in the "it takes a rogue to catch a rogue" business is that it? I used to be a rogue of sorts myself, me and my merry orcs would rob those snobish races who put on airs and the like and then send their valuable that they had kindly donated to our poor oppressed families back home."

"Now that you mention it, I must find somewhere to freshen up." Nur patted the ogre as he whispered. "I think Haldor has told our story in its entirety already. Excuse me gentlemen." En Sabah Nur left the table in order to get clean and day dream about the heroes on other quests.

William Harkenshire sits down at the bar and attempts to make conversation with the huge, bulking Orcish Ranger Skrall.

"Excuse me, good ranger, I don't believe we've met before, I have to say, you're the first Orc Ranger I've seen."

"Excuse me, good ranger, I don't believe we've met before, I have to say, you're the first Orc Ranger I've seen."

Scheherazade walks up to William and smacks him in the back of his head with a sausage.

"You ignorant fool, can't you tell an ogre from an orc?" she bellows. Then she puts her face in front of the poor ranger's. "Look very closely, this is an orc's face! Don't you ever forget it!"

And William sure won't, for the face will haunt him in his nightmares for the rest of his life.

Haldor watched as Scheherazade frightened the ranger, and saw Nur leave the hall. Haldor began to dream of Jess and how she was faring, he wished she were here and how much he wanted to see her beautiful face again. He fell asleep where he sat, wondering of how Jess was and whether she was thinking of him...
