Dragonfire Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Boris slides over to the Yeti, watching the sparks fly between Jinnipher and Lind, "This ought to be good, no? 5 gold, the winged knight takes a fist to the face from the elf?" Avalanche smiles wryly, "I'd take that bet if I didn't agree with you. He really has it coming here." Kheyli chokes on her water. "Is that where he got those wings?" she leans back in her chair, disgusted, as the Black Knight makes his way down the stairs. "I can see why you two don't get along. Where I come from, having wings is a birthright. They can't be transferred from one being to another like a common possession... And to come in, showing them off in front of a crippled fairy nonetheless? How is he considered a hero?" Avalanche feels sympathy with the fairy's disgust, having encountered men who hunted his kind for sport and wore their skins as clothes before. "In response to your last comment, I doubt he is..." Kheyli smiles. For someone who supposedly wasn't fond of friends, Jinnipher seemed awfully friendly. "I mean, I guess it goes either way. You need friends to rely on, but in the end, the only person you can really rely on, like one hundred percent, is yourself, right?" She sits back in her chair, frowning. This was hardly the swashbuckling adventure she'd come to expect. Avalanche seems to sense what she is feeling, "Don't worry, you'll be on your first quest in no time and have all the swashbuckling you want. This is Heroica, after all!" Quote

JimBee Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 "No one here you like, I'm guessing." Terry sips his glass. "I still think that's a bad philosophy." Jinnipher shrugged. "So long as you're competent in battle and able to get the job done, you're okay in my book." "It's not like Abraxas or anything," she smirks, despite the fact that Jinnipher seemed to have a pretty bleak outlook on the job. Kheyli smiles. For someone who supposedly wasn't fond of friends, Jinnipher seemed awfully friendly. "I mean, I guess it goes either way. This was hardly the swashbuckling adventure she'd come to expect. "Who?" "Whatever makes you feel better, I guess." "Well as it is said, Ennoc helps those who help themselves, but I do recall a certain passage,'Three ropes entwined are not easily rend, a pair of kindred spirits can ward off attackers, but the lone man will be overthrown.' The Weepings of Mosolon section four, stanza twelve." Boris sips from his goblet. "Tell me, vampire, does the Bright and Holy usually accept the eternally blood-thirsty into His arms?" Quote

The Chosen Minifigure Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Skrall entered the hall as Warlen made his way out. "Heard yer were interested in this talisman, right?" The ogre kept the conversation going as he made his way up to the bar and ordered a tankard of mead. "Yep. How much d'you want for it?" Quote
Dragonfire Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 "Deserted" she frowns. "Surely you had a reason, right?" Avalanche looks even more uncomfortable than before, "I... I don't really want to discuss it, if that's all right with you. Can we please talk about something else?" Quote
K-Nut Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 "I... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to strike a nerve..." Kheyli slouched back in her chair. It was just, well, behind the beast of a man in front of her, she saw something more. Through all of the, for lack of a better term, hard-megablocks in front of her, she thought she'd seen someone like her. Perhaps it was just her hoping... Quote

I learned all about him and the other archdemons as a kid," "And other fairy tales, right? Or do you call it human tales where you're from?" Jinnipher laughed at her own joke and order another two meads, shoving one into Kheyli's hands. "To friendship, huh?" She clunked her own mug to Kheyli's and chugged down half of its contents. "Do you think I would be here if He did? No, I may have left that life, but it doesn't mean there isn't some truth to His words." She wiped her mouth and replied to the vampire. Kheyli blushes sheepishly. "I've spent enough time in both realms to know my fair share of tales, don't you worry." she grins. She's a bit taken aback at the mug offered to her. She'd never had mead before, but she didn't want to ignore the hardened knight's offer of friendship. She takes a large sip, almost choking on the contents of the drink. "To friendship!" she coughs. Lind looked coldly at Jinnipher. "Quit making fun of the vampire." Kheyli raises an eyebrow. "You're the one telling people not to mock other people's cultures?" she rolls her eyes. Quote

"Besides, if you were crippled, I wouldn't steal someone's legs and parade them in front of you, would I?" she points to the gash across her left wing. "Lady, I didn't come in here and parade around in front of you. I came into the Hall, and chatted with a few acquaintances, new and old. I'm sorry if the gear unintentionally stirred up painful memories." Lind shoved his armor into his Bag of Holding. "There. Off. Better?" Quote
