Palathadric Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Pretzel remains sitting in his seat, pondering and reflecting. Was it time to act? There was no doubt the hall needed a cleansing. Overhearing the conversation at the other table, I stroll over. "Guts wants to be king of Eubric? Interesting. I would once have supported a Hero going for kingship, but now I'm not so sure, with the state the hall is in. "...at least the witch isn't around anymore..." I mutter. Quote
Chromeknight Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Seeing Pretzel join the conversation Nerwen replies I ask again, what do you mean the state of the hall now? Didn't you read about the consequences of the quest to doomsayers island? Several heroes came back enthralled by a demon and brought civil war to the hall. All those who survived walked away from working for Heroica. That is where a purge ends up. No one is totally innocent nor guilty of everything, you can't draw a neat line saying 'those ones are ok, those ones aren't' Quote

Please any information that tells me how the hall has changed from the way it was to know and how the definition of a hero has changed would be most helpful. "I'm not saying that we purge indiscriminately, but there are some obvious anti-heroes." Parfenius just looks around at all the conversations going on around him, lost to the meaning of it all. "Hmm...it seems like there is much more to being a hero than I originally thought..." Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) Terry, exhausted, slumps back into his seat. "Phew, what a day..." The black knight looked up and saw the mage enter. He waved for him to come over and join the group. Edited October 22, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote
Endgame Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Terry stands up and joins the table. "Uh, hi. I'm Terry, for those who don't meet me. I just, uh, got back from a quest." Quote
Chromeknight Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Nerwen nods at the Mage who enters the saloon. Speaking to Pretzel she says You'll have to ask Byblos for the file. It's in the restricted section, labelled with a cat for some inscrutable reason. I ran into an ex-hero on a quest once, that was the first clue that heroica was more complex than I'd thought. Looking down at the small hero she says Hello master halfling, you are new here? I'm Nerwen, elven minstrel. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 "Uh, hi. I'm Terry, for those who don't meet me. I just, uh, got back from a quest." "Welcome back. We're just discussing politics. How'd the quest go? Something about bones, I believe it was - and there was something about hats?" Looking down at the small hero she says Hello master halfling, you are new here? I'm Nerwen, elven minstrel. "He's about five, in all departments," the black knight whispered to her from behind his hand. Quote
Alfadas Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) Torald walks back in the Hall, looking around. "Wonder if there are any new quests". He walks to the notificationboard and yes, another quest. Torald quickly writes his name on the list, not sure if he can join, because he just came back from a quest. Better try and fail, then do nothing at all. Edited October 22, 2015 by Alfadas Quote
MysticModulus Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Ezeran heads over to Torald and buys him a proper ale. "Do you also have an ache in your bones after that last mission?" Ezeran smiles and heads to the board where new quests are announced. Ezeran writes down his name ands signs up for Quest#142: Day of the Triffid Quote
Alfadas Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 "Thanks Ezeran. Nice pun." Torald laughs and takes a big gulp. "Aah, I missed this". He puts his feet on the table and lays back. Quote

Endgame Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 "Uh, fought a dinosaur. Killed it. Brought its bones to some weird lady, and uh she brought it back from the dead. It was pretty decrepit, so me, Jinnipher, Kehyli, Torald, Ezeran, Boris, and this fella named Mac took it down nice and easy. Then we walked back to Eubric carrying the bones. They were.... heavy..." Terry wrings out his arms. Quote

I ran into an ex-hero on a quest once, that was the first clue that heroica was more complex than I'd thought. "Thinking about it. I did encounter one former hero, a certain "Retak Ysp" or something in a quest of my own. I don't recall hearing anything about this purging though. But there definitely were some fascinating ideas shared...a Fenarian, if I'm not mistaken." Hello master halfling, you are new here? I'm Nerwen, elven minstrel. "Uh, yes, yes I am. I have come to be a hero. Life had grown dull in my country, so I am here to do some good in this land." Quote

Kintobor Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Karie finished strumming her guitar and noticed the influx of new heroes. She set her guitar aside and tapped the bar, hoping the monk and Nerwen would finish their squabble sooner than later so she could sit in her usual seat again. Quote

Sometimes I thought I saw it talking, or maybe it was just breathing? I dunno. I didn't question it... I thought a Vampire would be the uniquest one in the group, but no, Ezeran tops him for sure. He's nice though. So are Torald and Kheyli. They do their job well and they're nice people. Moon Elf was a bit of a hothead, but meh..." Quote

I'm certain the guy with a gibbering mouth for a stomach makes for excellent company... sure..." Karie gives a weak laugh. It seemed like anyone was allowed into the hall. "Moon elf? Oh, Jinnipher, yeah, she can be a bit of a handful. How was she with you?" Quote
Endgame Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 "Hey, I liked 'im. I'm not really one to dislike people, though... Jinnipher was capable in battle, but we kept having this back-n'-forth debate about how relationships are needed, and skept saying she didn't want none and didn't have any. I think she's just lyin' to look tough, but when someone has a blade called "The Beheader", and you happen to have a very fragile neck, you don't press too much." Quote
