"That tyrannosaur we fought was a lizard, Jinnipher, and that thing was one helluva beastie. You're really taking on another dragon?

...Does nobody care about their safety here?!"

I cast a look Terry's way.

"That's not surprising," I mumble.

"We're heroes. It's part of the job. Besides, if he's as powerful and mighty as he says he is, what does it matter whether we're here or there?"

Jinnipher nodded. "The monk is right."

"I like to stay far, far away from danger, is all I'm saying."

"Then what in the Hel are you doing here?"

"Might as well throw your head into the mouth of a lion, then, if being close to danger is safer..."

"If you throw your head at it with speed, you're more likely to kill it, than it you."

"I like the easy jobs. Like getting a gift for that sniper guy. I was too slow with the sign up, though..."

"If there's one thing that I learned from my time at Heroica is that there are no easy jobs. Something always comes up. There may be easier jobs, but even this last quest, we encountered what could have been a life and death situation for one like you. If you came to Heroica looking to escape the "stress" of life, you're in the wrong place."

Ezeran walks intp the hall with a smile on his face whistling an eerie tune. He goes to the bar and buys some pork crisps for the symbiont and two foaming pints of ale. He goes to Toralds table, gives him one of the pints and then he goes to the quest-board and signs up for Quest #147: Judgment Day.

Karie grimaces at the sight of the mouth in the mages stomach as it burbs. She hoped it wasn't infectious.

"Don't worry, I quested with him, you and him will be fine..."

I stroll into the hall, whistling a merry tune.

"What a fine day's work we had," I say happily, cleaning the slime off my sword.

Strolling over to the quest board, I notice Quest #147.

"This looks like the perfect quest for someone of my experience."

I promptly sign-up.

Ezeran nods politely towards Karie.

Karie wanted to shout something across the hall, but thought it best not to piss the demon mouth thing off. She gets up from her seat next to Atramor and signs up for Quest 147.

Ezeran opens the neatly wrapped gift and finds a metallic card with a nice looking engraving saying "The truest gift is the sudden appreciation and acceptance of ones worth..." He turns the card over and he sees the symbiont reflecting of its silvery surface. The picture fades as the symbiont sneezes all over it. Ezeran felt a pride welling up inside of him and a smile started to spread over his face. "Happy Grogmas fellow heroes!" He shouted with joy.

Ezeran returns from the gathering around the Grogmas-tree and slumps down in a chair again. "Phew, I really need something extra to be prepared for another year..." He takes out a cartoonish looking mushroom that doesn't seem edible and then he consumes it in a few big bites, "Strangely tasty, big presence of umami for sure!" . Ezeran consumes his Level Up Mushroom and gains a level he then equips the sneezing demon.

Ezeran left the hall for the marketplace.

I sit down to carry out my translation of the Good Book only to see it has been done for me with a Grogmas note attached. I am left puzzled and wondering who could be the convert in the hall who did so much good work for me.

Still sitting idly awaiting for a quest to catch his eye, Atramor noted a small wrapped package had appeared at his feet. Picking it up, he unwrapped it to find that it was (unfortunately) not the alcohol bottle he had taken it for. Instead, it was filled with a rather pungent, toxic substance...that he realized the perfect use for it. The rogue thief soaked his Tiger Claws in the sticky Pesticide, leaving a foul stench in the air that threatened to kill any nearby insects. And more importantly...rats.

Erik, for once in the hall entirely sober, holds his new Juggernaut's Helm high over his head and dances around the room, before stuffing his Tricorne into his pack and equipping his new helm in its place.

Tired, a familiar Black Knight slowly stepped back inside the Hall. The election was over. It had been close - but not close enough.

He leaned against the bar, not seeing the familiar name of Immortalis scrawled about the top of one of the posted quests.

He looked around the room, and grunted. "Anyone want to fight a duel in the Arena?" He reached into his Bag of Holding, and pulled out a pair of tickets. "It's closed, but I've got a pair of passes..."

Thormanil signs up for Quest #147, chuckling to himself about the prospect of some "Father of all Dragons". Maybe this one would actually pose a threat.

"Naw, I'm just waitin' for a non-life threatening quest to pop up..."

I approach Thormanil slowly.

"How goes the war effort, Dragoon? I hope you can find it in yourself to...forgive me."

"Naw, I'm just waitin' for a non-life threatening quest to pop up..."

Parfenius approaches.

"Why are you afraid? Be brave! You're a hero! If you die, you will die nobly!"

"Why are you afraid? Be brave! You're a hero! If you die, you will die nobly!"

"It's like... I'm supposed to get more brave the stronger the beastie I fight, right? That I'm supposed to see these giants topple and go "Well, that was easy, who's next?" But, I don't get how y'all do it... I just get more terrified! It's like every win is a fluke, and every quest I sign up for, I just put my neck on the choppin' block one more time, noble death or not."

Ezeran leans forward in his armchair. "Aren't you curious about all the things you haven't yet experienced? To live is to learn more about yourself and your surroundings. I'm more frightened of fading away at old age while my soul is yearning for experiences the body can't provide."

Torald, half asleep, hears half of the conversation. "I can't wait for the next quest, personally. Having to deal with the unknown, even more powerful monsters. It's kinda therapeutic for me. Not knowing if you will live the next day. I know it sounds weird, but... Well, at least I live life as I love it the most! And hurrah for ale and naps." That said, he leans back in his chair and is soon asleep...
