Yzalirk Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Addok-Zo enters the hall after trekking the long road back home. He loosens the straps that bind the rusted plate to his chest and tosses it on a table. He proceeds to undo the armor protecting his limbs. He catches the attention of a bar wench by gesturing with his hands. "Water... please." He then falls onto a chair and lets out a lough sigh. Quote
Kintobor Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 After months of being away, Annienal opens the door to the hall, unnerved by the silence. "Um... hello? Is anyone there?" The smell of incense and sulphur clung to her as she made her way to the bar, every step accentuated by the clatter of her armour, shiny and chrome from her diligent maintenance. How goes your study of the Way of the Wyrm? "Well, I'm glad you've come to some amount of understanding in your path, even if it now leads to a crossroad." Annienal awkwardly shifts in her seat, looking around. She seems hesitant to tell her story, but begins. "Um... well, for myself... I went off to a small island off the west coast of Uland, and meditated for several weeks, trying to come to some sort of understanding as to how to better connect with dragons, as well as how to control the elements, and, um..." Annienal paused in hesitancy. "Well, perhaps I'd best start from the beginning, because, um... it's kind of a long story. I'd left shortly after dealing with a man who could turn into a phoenix on my previous outing. I'd made up my mind after seeing him fly away in a burst of flames. I packed everything I needed and trekked to a secluded place. When I made it to the island, I set up a small camp and started a large bonfire. For two weeks I meditated and fasted, and after that, I spent another two weeks after taking a weeks long break to ensure I didn't starve. During my meditations, I made attempts to commune with the spirits of draconic entities, as well as Lethauros, who, I'll admit, has been speaking to me whenever I don this helmet. I've, um, also been holding onto the underdeveloped organ we found since then as well." Annienal presents the helmet crafted from the felled dragon's scales to Vindsval, her voice trill with both excitement, anticipation and fear. She does not however produce the underdeveloped organ. "Twelve days into the second meditation period... I, um, made lucid contact with Lethauros. I had managed to have vivid visions before hand, but this one was the most, um... intense. I was, um, alone, on top of a mountain, when a large, white dragon swooped down in front of me. I wasn't. The dragon circled me until I was directly in front of his face, so close to death, yet so close to vast amounts of wisdom. We spoke at length about power, wealth, freedom, and other philosophical questions which seemed to go on for hours. Then, it opened it's mouth and blew it's fiery breath upon me. I did not perish, though. I awoke, and like instinct, I spread my wings and flew off into the horizon, across the sea, and over mountains. I felt the wind rush against my face as I soared by great cities, and I roared with the strength of a hundred men, billowing fire far greater than any mage could. I could feel the immense power resting inside me. For what felt like forever, I had become a dragon. And then I opened my eyes, having finished my vision two days later. I found blood all over me. I had eaten the entire of the underdeveloped organ- no, I had gorged on it! I did not know how I did it, nor do I remember doing it, but I devoured the organ I took from Lethauros with me. I then left the island after washing myself, and my clothes off. So, uh, yeah, that's what I've been doing." Annienal replies, having laid herself bare. She felt a pit of shame well up inside her. She had allowed herself to gorge on the flesh of a body part like an animal while she relished in a vision. She did not know what to feel, and looked to Vind, hoping he'd assist her in understanding what had happened. 30 minutes ago, Goliath said: The mention of putting Sulphur on oneself reminds Addok-Zo of the stories he was told as a child. Every time he feels a bit of energy tickle his hand, every time he gets better results rolling specific outcomes. After a good hour of dice rolling, Torald feels confident, but tired. Thanks. I guess this is the first lesson. Focus, focus, focus. Got it. Giving form to the ether is hard work, truly. The chair is made of wood, with 4 legs, 2 armrests and a backrest. There is some padding where you can sit on, so it doesn't hurt your behind. When the chair hits you in the chest, it hurts. Torald thinks for a moment. A tactical situation. Hmm. Yes. I am all alone in the woods, my party members are knocked out by powerful enemies. I'm surrounded by 4 big, hairy werewolves. I have lost my sword, all I can do, is use my magic to hurl some lumps of wood their way and maybe knock them out before they get me. But I have to control the lumps, otherwise they might hit me or the party members. So, I need to focus really hard on the lumps and the amount of ether I put in each hurl. But I could also use the magic to summon my sword back into my hands, without it hitting myself with the pointy bit. Torald thinks again. Wow, a lot of thinking is involved with using magic. How do I use it? Is this the most useful, least ether consuming way? Quote
