Seeing the note from Sorrow, I feel strangely compelled to go and see the dead man into his repose, but...I push back the urge.

It would be much too awkward.

The knock on the door, the creaking on the stairs - even if the noise did get the attention of the house's occupant, chances were he wasn't in good condition to get up and answer the door. The front entryway seemed unlocked, at least.

OK fine by me. As put the bag of gold back into the bowl. Be sure you do. I would hate to think someone with less morals (than me) would come by and just take a bunch of stuff. Now if you would excuse me.

As he (Germ) awkwardly leave the "porch". He slowly moved on. Semi keeping an eye on Karie, making sure she went inside. 

As Germ went on, he had a feeling someone or something was watching him.

As The Demon Germ continues onwards it gets cold really cold and snow starts to fall to the point of nearly blinding. And that is when he sees it a mechanic creature. It looks about three times Germ's size and ready to fight as Germ prepares for Battle. Then the creature's "head" suddenly springs forward. Nocking Germ onto his backside along with his helmet and other items.

If that wasn't bad enough another temperature change started to happen this time it got really hot. So hot the snow instantly turn into fog. And in that fog a tall lanky figure. 

 I do believe, you hit him to hard brother.

 Calm down hot head! I was just seeing if he still had it. He is a little rusty but it still their ... Oh my gosh brother I don't think he recognize us. Hehe! 

 What do you expect frost bite we are using these "Remote Battle Suits". 

That is when Germ started to think...

 Hot and cold, brothers? That is when he finally piece their identity together. Misers? Heat? Snow? And what do you mean rusty? 

 Well, we heard the rumors. That you got caught and turn into some sort of "cat". What happen you cheesed off some witches? And why are you not a "cat" any more? 

 Well yes, along with a bunch of others. As for the "cat" issue a bunch of "ghost" attacked me. When they tried to possess me it must of kicked on a dormant power which fixed the "cat" issue. Personally I kinda wish to be able turn back and forth (from the "cat") it could be handy being smaller and more durable. 

 Can we get back to recruiting him? I want to stomp this Entropy! It attacked mother (and father) remember. And we need some help that is where you come in Demon. 

 Anything calling it self The Empty Rot needs to be stop. And who better than the reason "we" kicked that "Particle Dragon"  to oblivion. 

 Well the item that allowed "us" to "Bio-Emerge" is not in my possession. Besides "we" had to use that "blow hard" of a brother of your too. And I don't see his "Battle Suit" around here. 

 He is keeping an eye on mother until she is better. (Not to mention trying to finish all the chores mother gave him. Hehe!) 

 Look are you going to help us or not? We certainly can help you with some of your "issues". 

 Wait are you saying you can get me off Olegaia? Hell yeah! I say anything calling it self en, en, Entropy or the Empty Rot is going to get some pain. Wait how could it hurt Mother Nature and Father Time? 

 Well we don't know how it did it. And we think it is recruiting like we are, so we are going to be stuck here for a little bit longer trying to stop it. Here take this...

 I don't know? Do you think you could possess a "Cuisinart Core"? Besides we just found these laying around Olegaia. 

 I don't know, if I can possess something like that. So, now what, should I try to recruit some of the "people" in Heroica? I can think of one or two of them that might not be from Olegaia. 

 Well, it sounds like a plan. We will get in touch with you when we are ready to use the...what are we calling it The Far Gate or The Space Bridge?

 Their is this Z-Mail system. I guess we could use that. You know what I just thought of in reality, Heat is round and Snow is lanky. But your "Battle Suits" are the opposites.

 As The Demon Germ is picking up his knocked off items. I am surprised they didn't break into be some song. Then as he took a quick look around. And how did know one noticed any of that?

As Germ returns back to the "Hall". He seemed more cocky than usual. But the first thing he was checked flyer he put up earlier. And took the old one down and put up a new one.

"Hello?" Karie looked around for any signs of Sorrow, unsure if she wanted to see him in whatever his current stat was or not. "Is anyone here?"

The home's interior greets you. Your boots step onto a weathered old rug. A bookshelf in the corner, overflowing with various novels and tomes and texts. A chest tucked to the side, slightly ajar, its contents obscured by the lid's shadow. A small desk flanking the wall, the stacks of papers and bundle of quills suggesting it was used for writing.

Across from the entryway, in plain view, a bed.

Your entry doesn't register with the bed's occupant for a bit, until...

My head lolls over to look how came in.

I was never the picture of health, but my condition had decayed. My ghastly skin had become even ghastlier, now a morbid bluish-white. Any and all definition had left my face, leaving my eyes sunken, my jawline skeletal. My hair was all but gone.There was no smell of rot, merely the image of death.

My pupils, cloudy and dim, wander a bit before focusing on you.

"K...Karie...?"

I break down into a fit of coughing, and weakly, a bony hand reaches out and gestures to a glass of water on my nightstand.

Karie quickly reaches for the glass of water and hands it to Sorrow, careful that he does not spill it.

I take a sip gingerly, and the shakily set the glass down on the edge of the table. The water seems to go down with some issue.

My voice is quiet, shaky, sometimes barely audible.

"Masson and Rachelle are doing good. I've found myself with them a lot more, what with the slump Heroica's been in." Karie took in a deep breath. "You haven't missed much. The hall's been quiet."

Couldn't help but check out the new comers. After he was done looks at the "paper", he set it on one of the empty tables and then tried to get closer to get a better look at the new comers.

Rone gives a shrug. What's so special about any place? It's people, I suppose. I could suggest the fact that it is such a cultural melting pot, a crossroads of the world. In the end, I think maybe it's just home.

Noting the absence in the hall, Dyric lets out a small utterance.

Looks like Alderflask left already. I was going to pay my dues to Sorrow. Are you interested in coming?

I suppose now you never will. 

With a somber expression, Rone turned back to watch Hoke. How many other Heroes were simply going to fade out of memory? Would anyone remember Cronk, or Skrall, or Guts? How would Arthur be remembered? How would Dyric? The idea was haunting.

Dyric only prayed that he could do something to preserve their names. To preserve Heroica for what it was.

Until then, all they had was the memory of the living. It was time to visit Sorrow.

From his vantage point, Germ can make out the two figures have traveled from a far distance. Their clothes are muddy and somewhat ragged. The larger of the two stands a full head higher than most, almost as tall as an ogre, he carries a great club with him and is enjoying his drink from one of the largest tankards in the hall. The shorter of the pair, after closer inspection is definitely a dwarf, his full beard knotted in intricate designs, and his eyes, while shadowed flash with an intense, almost ethereal energy.

The pair of travelers stay seated, but acknowledge Hoke.

"Don't get many visitors do ya, aye?"

"From the talk around the town, it doesn't seem like many folks are too keen on this Hall at all." The larger man speaks in a quiet voice that betrays his size. "It's too quiet in here."

Hoke takes a seat as he waves to the tavernkeep for another drink.

"Not anymore it would seem, no one new at least," He says as he sits down, uninvited,"Hence my curiosity."

Almost going to find out who the new persons were, until Hoke just barged in. Figuring it was better to sit in a secluded area for the time being. Then started thinking: I got to much stuff. Is anyone going to buy any of it, here? I might just have to go to the marketplace soon, to sell off this stuff. 

And then Germ started to inadvertently listen in on the conversation around him.

"No. No you weren't. There's no reason to beat yourself up for taking your own path." Karie replied. "I'm just... shocked. You always said your health was deteriorating, but... I guess I just never really anticipated it."
