Darth Nihilus Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 "Curse that Questboard!" Dak shouts in frustration. "How can I sign up for 2 quests and not be picked!" He walks back to the bar and huffily sits down to wait for the next quest. Quote

Scorpiox Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Haldor strode into the hall and noticed that a list of hired heroes had been posted for quest 12. He saw with pleasure that he was to head out to help the fool who had minimised his next of kin. Even better, he thought, the party also included his friend the bashful Ellaria, and was lead by the powerful Tesni. Haldor approached his friends and hoped for a conversation. Xarrzan Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Sarick waited until dark. He wanted to make sure the Hall was packed full of people, all celebrating their victories with rounds of drinks and toasts or drowning their defeats and sorrows with pints of ale. Sarick opened the hall door slowly. The loud noise of the patrons created a perfect distraction. He slithered inside quickly and blended with the crowd. The press of bodies meant close quarters and little chance of anyone looking toward the floor. Sarick had a hypnotic sway to his movements as he headed toward the Quest board. "No current questsss," hissed Sarick. He spotted an empty stool at the bar and headed there as fast as he could. Sarick made it to the stool and took a seat before a drunken sailor could stumble to it. He coiled his tail around the leg of the stool for comfort and to keep it from being stepped on. Before he could open his mouth, a flagon of mead was shoved into his hands. "Rounds for everybody, on me!" shouted the sailor. Sarick nodded his thanks and sipped his drink, patiently waiting for a quest to test his new found power. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 (edited) Guts walked up to the newcomer and took a seat next to him, knocking off a drunk sailor that had passed out in the process. He had seen the snake-man come in the hall from his corner-table, Guts saw that the snake-man was good at blending in the crowd, quite a feat, for it only took one look down to freak a lot of people out. The thing that made Guts pay attention to the strange man was the smell, as soon as the snake-man entered the hall, Guts smelled something fishy. Literally. "you do not look like a sailor." Guts said. "You know food and drink is free for heroes, right?" Guts tried to contain a smile, in the short time he had been in the hall, he started calling himself a hero, even though he did not yet perform any heroic deeds or finished any quests, it must be the company of the other heroes, he thought by himself. "So anyway, what's your story" Guts asked, not waiting for an awnser for his earlier question. Edited October 26, 2011 by Scubacarrot Quote

"So anyway, what's your story" Guts asked, not waiting for an awnser for his earlier question. Sarick looked at the man next to him. The man's many blades told Sarick that he must be good with them. Sarick turned his diamond pupils toward the man. "No, I am not a sssailor but I do come from the sssea. I was going to thank the sailor properly with sssome coin, for providing me with a drink, but now that I know the food and drink are free, I'll sssave my coin for something elssse." "What isss my ssstory? You mean why am I here? The Priestess requiresss all young Naga to venture forth when they come of age. They may not return until they have proven they are no longer a hatchling. Very few leave the beloved ocean behind, but I have heard of Heroica Hall, and I could not pass up a chance to head here. My people have very few "finger wigglersss". My people are either the devout clericsss, strong knightsss or slippery roguesss. Magesss are frowned upon. The Priestess has decided I should be a cleric, but I have chosen otherwissse. I will prove that my fingersss can wiggle and grant me victory. I will prove it here, in Heroica Hall." "Have you been on many adventuresss? Most people are't very welcome to outsidersss, is it the same here?" Quote
Chromeknight Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Nerwen strode into the hall purposefully. Although the weather during her travels had been kind, she was still dusty and thirsty from her trek. The tables were sparsely occupied, with a scattering of heroes talking quietly amongst themselves. She had noticed the questboard as she came in, quickly figuring that most heroes were currently out adventuring, or moving around Eubric port. Nerwen Calmcacil adds her name to the roster of heroes and, downing her water, steps back out onto the street to further explore the city. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 "Let me introduce myself" Guts said: "I am Guts Holla, my trade is that of the assassin, spy or mercenary, depends on the coin. I am what the people of the Hall seem to call a rogue, and for now... I am a Hero." Guts held his hand out towards the snake-man, he was intrigued, in the many years he had lived as a rogue in the city, he had seen a lot of strange races, this snake-man, or Naga as he called himself, was new to him. "In my life, I have had many adventures, but none in name of the Heroica Hall, I hope to soon embark on a quest, I have been sitting in the hall drinking wine for a tad too long." It was true, the wine Scheherazade served was good, better than what he usually drank and free, and Guts noticed that he began to smell of it, not perfect, for a rogue that wants to stay hidden. "People would be able to smell me coming from miles away", he thought by himself. In response to the other question the snake-man asked him, Guts said:"I have found that in the city, and especially here in the Hall, people care more for what you have done than where you come from or how you look, comes with the city having over a 100 different races, I guess." Guts ordered another bottle of wine from the barkeep, before taking a sip, he said: "I did not catch your name?" Quote

"Hello Gorg, unfortunately there are no quests in which you can 'smash bad guys', as of right now." Dak looked at the orc, he had met many of that species. In his experience, they were rowdy, violent, and bad-tempered. He made a silent note to be careful, lest he find himself in a fight. OOC: Sorry about that all the players who have Orcs. Chromeknight Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 The horrible roar disturbed the silence in Heroica Hall: "ME GORG! ME WANT SMASH BAD GUYS! WERE DO I SIGN?" Nerwen returned from visiting the temples dotted about Eubric. At the bar a new figure was shouting and thumping tables. She could see that it was an orc clutching a long bone. From her decade spent working in an orc refugee camp, Nerwen knew the volume and violence was just their way and necessary aggressive. Still, amongst so many humans, such actions could be misunderstood and so she stepped up to address the newcomer in Orcish. nuqneH! qaStaH nuq! (What do you want! What is happening? or more politely, Hi, how are you going?) Turning to the young rogue standing near the orc she said, Greetings Cam'wethrin! Have you been here long? Where did you get your swords? They look similar to those of elvish make. Nerwen picks up a goblet of water as she speaks. Quote

I do not drink wine. Something about it doesn't mix well with my venom.". Sarck noticed the look on Guts' face.. "My venom is neither dangerousss to you nor helpful in your trade. I am still too young to produce deadly venom. It would work well againssst small creaturesss...like mice or cockroachesss, but it's far easier to just crush them with your coilsss." Sarick thought for a second. "Or just step on them with your boot." "Over 100 different racesss, that is quite a bit. Hopefully I will be able to see these different racesss on future questsss. She seemed very pleasant to be around, not like the other girls he had met who kept to their inner circles and didn't talk much to anyone who wasn't in them. She was also different from the girls he had met back in Mopag, who had taunted him for his strange mother. Quote

You are Naga, correct? Nerwen wondered if there would be more Naga seen on the shores of Eubric over the next year, she had heard rumours of snake people moving through the nearby lands of Njago. "I do not know where they came from, I just found them in a tree one day. They were just the thing that I needed to join Heroica, so here I am." Turning back to the pale rogue, In a tree? Interesting. I wonder how they got there. Have you met these heroes? Guts and Sarick I believe. But I did not catch your name. The pale rogue was clearly happy to talk. Nerwen wondered if he had realised if she was an elf, and likely old enough to be his great grandmother twice over. Quote

Perhaps Galadrya would offer guidance when she meditated tonight. Such a gift is not uncommon amongst the Taur'quassir, I can see you also have a sharp eye for traps and escape routes. No doubt you will do well as you go adventuring. But tell me more the heroes you have met so far... And what have you seen out in the city? "Gorg have a Bone! You see? It's a dragon bone! My Warchief gave it to me when I was young!" Indeed you do! It looks like a tarsal bone, it must have been a mighty dragon! Have you travelled far to get to the Free Islands? What is your clan? Perhaps there are forces hunting the Orc clans, perhaps as revenge for Ennon. Or maybe Tarokai was treating with powerful beings that are seeking payment from his kin. In any case, I am not a human, but an Elf.I guess you have not met our kind yet. It sounds like heroes have often had to face beasts and vermin in their adventures. It will be an honour having you protect me if we adventure together. I do not know much about your kind. Scubacarrot Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Guts turned to the three heroes that joined him and Sarick, he took a good look at them, there was the elven cleric, she was beautiful, but as all elves, she also had something dangerous about her. Next to the elf was the other rogue he had briefly met earlier, he looked young, but something told Guts that that may not be all there was about him, still it was painful looking at the rogue, considering his own past. And finally there was the orc, he looked like your typical orc, strong and brutal, he was even carrying a huge dragon bone, Guts wouldnt want to fight the orc, at least not during the day. Guts said to the elf: Cam'wethrin? what is that? I do not speak elven. assuming it is not an insult, its good to meet you. Turning to the young rogue: Its nice to meet you, boy, I look forward to working with someone whose skills match my own. To the orc he said: Strenght to you and your clan, Gorg, it is good to meet you. He thought by himself, this group looked like a great team, Guts couldnt wait to go out on a quest. Quote
