Scubacarrot Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Guts walked in the Hall, he looked fresh as a daisy, earlier that day he woke up on top of the temple dedicated to Mercutio, he had no idea how he got there or why. After he got down from there he had washed himself and his clothes in a small fountains of the city, when he woke up he had noticed he smell of pigs and wine, again he had no clue why he smelled of pigs. While he was washing himself there were some rich looking women looking at him, that quickly ran away when the half naked Guts looked their way. Guts grinned as he walked in the hall. No hangover, one of the benefits of good wine. As he walked in Guts saw Nerwen standing in the hall, so still it looked like she was frozen, and her eyes were rolled into the sockets, a few moments later she looked as normal, only slightly confused. Guts had seen it before, Nerwen had some kind of vision. "Bloody magic users" Guts mumbled. while he was walking towards Nerwen, Guts saw another elf standing next to her, a tall, armored man with a strange helmet. Guts walked up to the two elves and introduced himself to the strange elf: "Im Guts, Nice hat." "Everything alright?" He asked Nerwen. Quote
Chromeknight Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Guts walked in the Hall, he looked fresh as a daisy, ... he had no clue why he had smelled of pigs. As he walked in Guts saw Nerwen standing in the hall, so still it looked like she was frozen, and her eyes were rolled into the sockets, a few moments later she looked as normal, only slightly confused. Guts had seen it before, Nerwen had some kind of vision. Guts walked up to the two elves and introduced himself to the strange elf: "Im Guts, Nice hat." "Everything alright?" He asked Nerwen. Nerwen turned to look at man in the headwrap. He was slightly damp, but didn't reek of wine, and he had a new shirt too. Thank-you yes. It is good of you to ask. You seem better as well, are you rested? The spinning head feeling Nerwen had was passing. And the hall was getting busy again. I doesn't seem like anyone else in the hall felt it. Perhaps no-one else is a cleric of ... I think they are called Amadea and Melodion here. You look more like a follower of Mercutio, Master Guts. Nerwen sat and poured from a pitcher of water. Something less fermented to drink gentlemen? Quote
Scubacarrot Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 "I'll have some water, thanks" "I do not really follow any gods anymore, I did for a long time, Mercutio mostly, but then ... something happened, that made me realise that the gods have schemes of their own, and have little interest in helping us mortals" Realising Nerwen was an elf, he added: "You know what I mean." "I saw you looking at my shirt, I found it. Lets leave it at that" Guts actually 'found' the shirt at someone's washing line, and it just so happened to be the right size. "On another note, I could really use some breakfast, i'm starving, how about you?" Looking up to the tall elf he said: "And what is with your friend, is he the strong, silent type or something?" Looking up to the tall elf he said: "And what is with your friend, is he the strong, silent type or something?" Nerwen turns to Alexandre but he seems to have wandered off. About the gods, I think I understand you, but you cannot deny those that follow them have access to power and can do amazing things. It is certain they exist, else why would there be statues of them, and books about them. Although you are right, they have schemes of their own. Nerwen pondered for a moment. Haven't you ever had the feeling that your life is controlled? your actions dictated? that it is all just a game? Shaking her head to ward off such thoughts. Sometimes I do. But I know that is crazy. As crazy as Alexandre's fairy stories of a place called Spayn in a land called dirt. Food sounds good though. Scheherazade bustles over laying out breakfast for Guts and a light snack for Nerwen. It always surprises me how she knows what to bring... perhaps she has a crystal ball behind the bar! Edited November 2, 2011 by Chromeknight Quote
Scubacarrot Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 "I did not say there are no gods, there is no doubt that clerics and the likes have access to power, but when it comes down to it, it does not matter if you worship a god or not, the Gods are... what is the best word to describe it? Selfish, maybe. I think the only reason gods give out this kind of power to people is to have pawns in our world." "Anyway, this thinking makes my head hurt" Guts said as he chewed on some bacon. "Why do you follow Amadea and Melodion anyway, the siblings of arts and music? Most clerics I have known follow Ennoc." Quote

"Why do you follow Amadea and Melodion anyway, the siblings of arts and music? Most clerics I have known follow Ennoc." Nodding at Guts' reply Nerwen replied. Amadea and Melodion, we Elves call them Galadrya and Celebryon, we are taught that they created the first elves. To bring civilisation and beauty into the world. Nerwen chuckled. Some say they did not succeed. In any case, not every elf commits to the true path, many stray. But the heart of each elf touches something of their power and can feel it move in the world. It is said that is why elves age slowly once grown, that the power of the gods keeps us young. Waving her hand airly, Nerwen stops talking. Guts was just as keen on his food as comparative theology. Nerwen appreciated such directness. It gave her hope that quests would come quickly, as humans made problems for one another and sought to have them solved. Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Guts walked up to the two elves and introduced himself to the strange elf: "Im Guts, Nice hat." When Alexander wandered off, he came back with breakfast. "Thanks, the crest at the top strengthens the helmet, so it is especially more protective against crushing blows. Anybody want a waffle? " Quote
Scubacarrot Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Guts thought about Nerwen's words, it was interesting to hear the elf's vision of the deities, even if he did not agree himself. "Nerwen, another question if I may, the clerics of Ennoc wield the power of the light to smite down foes and heal their allies, I find it hard to believe you would do the same with art and music, although I have heard some musicians in my time that could fell an army..." Guts turned his head to the man that had just brought some waffles to the table. "You elf, Alexander, was it? Tell me about yourself, if you will." Guts finished his breakfast and ordered some more water, he wouldnt drink more wine for the time being, as he was pretty sure he embarassed himself last time, although his memories of that were still a bit foggy. In silence he damned Scheherazade for the good wine she served, Guts promised himself to return to drinking the cheap stuff he usually drank. Quote

Darth Nihilus Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Dak wakes up from where he was sleeping at the bar. He sees the two Orcs talking, and notices Guts speaking to Nerwyn and an elf he hadn't seen before. Slowly, he stood, wincing at the pain in his limbs. He really had walked a long ways the day before, but only now were his joints beginning to hurt. He got a drink of water, then left for the Library to study up on the enemies he may face later in his career. Quote

A small chuckle escaped Nerwen I do not mind at all... All of the gods can send their power to heal their followers. Galadrya and Celebryon teach balance and purity. That's what art and beauty are, things working together in harmony. The same idea applies to our bodies. Sickness is imbalance and impurity, so healing is calling on the gods' power to restore beauty. Of course, when attacking foul creatures of evil, causing damage removes them, again increasing the civilisation of the world. I hope my explanation helps. Quote
The_Customizer Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Erdathcath walks in with a tired step, and orders a cup of Green-Lea Tea. Well, I think I shall have to rest after that long and tiresome night. After that, who wishes to hear the tale of the School? Quote

Jebediahs Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 En Sabah Nur was thankful Erdathcath had volunteered to relay the details of the academy mission. He had other business to attend to. The mage stood patiently near the questboard awaiting the hero he was scheduled to meet. "Soon..." Nur was curious about the Thorny Diadem Ratibor had entrusted to him. He didn't see anything "thorny" about the item. En Sabah Nur removed his bandana and put on the diadem. The item quickly slid from the mage's smooth bald head. "Heh." He tried again but this time he simply placed the diadem under his bandana. Tendrils of energy leapt from the diadem into his head. The pain the mage felt was like a million thorns pricking him on every cell of his body at the same time. The experience caused Nur to convulse briefly before he recovered. The mage felt exhausted and weary yet strangely more powerful. He decided to leave the cruel thing on his head and suffer through the weakness his body was feeling in the hopes of shaking its effects. En Sabah Nur grinned. He would not be destroying this dark item. Quote

The mage stood patiently near the questboard awaiting the hero he was scheduled to meet. Sarick slithered into the hall. He peered again at the note in his hand. While exploring the city and familiarizing himself with it, someone had slipped a note into his hand and melded into the crowd. Sarick thought it must have been a rogue. The note said to meet at the quest board in the Hero's Hall. Sarick noticed that there were two new quests posted. Sarick signed his name under Quest #14: The Family Recipe. Saric felt powerful energies coming from the man standing near the board. Sarick weaved his way up the stairs and found a quite table in the corner, away from prying eyes. He wanted to know the meaning of this note. Quote

The_Customizer Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Well, after returning so soon from a quest, Erdathcath decides to sign up for the next 3 quests anyway. She writes her name under: Quest 13, 14, and 15 These all look like interesting quests... And I think I am qualified for the 15th one for sure. Quote

As a new quests are put on the board, Nerwen goes down to the lobby and Nerwen signs up for quest #14 An elf that Nerwen hadn't met yet walks into the hall. Like Alexandre she seemed young. Very young. Perhaps she'd been brought up around humans. Or had a tragedy befall her family. In any case, she was clearly an experienced hero and the way she moved suggested much practice hunting. Nerwen approached her and said Elen sila lumenn omentilmo! (A star shines over our meeting! or Hello!) My name is Nerwen. You were one of the heroes questing in the school? what happened? Tell us all about it, please. Quote

It seemed to last forever, though it was only 1 night. My group did manage to complete the quest properly, and many thanks to the luck of our mage Nur, and the barbarian Alf for their mighty attacks, and to Ratibor for her leadership (and distractions, though he never hit anything), and Jensen for his mighty bat. I didn't do too much, but it was a great quest overall. And we discovered some creatures I had never seen before, and don't wish to see again. Quote
