Zepher Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Heh, thank you Cronk. I suppose there's no danger here, I'll eat one of the cookies. <Power surges through Hybros. He may pick one of the following options: (add 1 permanent point to his health OR power OR except 75 Gold). Other cookies act the same way. And now I'm done with QMing for that quest > Quote
Sisco Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Jess walked into the hall, glad to escape that horrid arena. "Here you go, Hybros," Jess hollered as she tossed Zoot's play thing to him. "25 gold for everyone on the quest, as well." Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Thothwick, much better for having a good nights sleep behind him, looks at the Quest board. Three Quests, with a disproportionate amount from the Ziegfrieds. Thothwick lacked the levels for the Bonaparte Quest, and was neither a Cleric or a Mage, so only signed up for Quest #13: The Darkstar. <Still Quest Mastering a little, just because I want to make sure that you all get final effects of the quest. If you want to eat the cookies, I'll tell you their effects. Also, don't forget to bother Jess, she has the 200 gold from the Draco fight all on her to distribute.> "Whats the worst that can happen?" Thothwick thinks to himself, as he eats his cookie. "25 gold for everyone on the quest, as well." "More Gold? What lovely news, Ms. Islanti!" Quote
Bricksandparts Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Alf wakes up and sits at a table. "Alf hope he get to go on quest 13. Something darkstar?" Alf sees others talking about their quests. Alf sits farther back into his chair and goes back to the nothingness of waiting... Quote

Professor Flitwick Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I think you get to pick the result, Thothwick: "Oh, yes! Thank you for pointing that Mr. Docken! Would appear I didn't get all the sleep my brain needed last night..." Thothwick eats his cookie, granting one extra point to his power, taking it up to 7. Quote
Fred Fred Burger Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) Chris eats his cookie and receives the 75 gold. Realizing that the Magic salesman is not selling light element gems Chris decides that he will take the extra point of power from the cookie instead. (Sorry, I hope no one minds:blush:.) Jess walked into the hall, glad to escape that horrid arena. "Here you go, Hybros," Jess hollered as she tossed Zoot's play thing to him. "25 gold for everyone on the quest, as well." Hybros accepts the gifts, carefully receiving the black goo. It instantly latches on to Hybros' arm, and takes the form of a scythe (Zoot's Reaper (WP: 10) ). At the same time, Hybros feels a dark presence in the weapon... And here, since I won't be needing this, you might as well sell it, Thothwick. Hybros hands the Fleuret (WP: 5) to Thothwick, turning to go downstairs to the quest board. Seeing the new quests posted, Hybros felt ready for another adventure. He signed his name under Quests #13: The Darkstar and #15: Hoisting Down the Jolly Roger. Quote
Peanuts Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Henry enters the Hall, more than glad to be returned from his quest. He perches himself on the next chair he can find and then receives the gold from Jess, nodding thankfully. "Er, Scheherazade, could I please get a beer? I need a one for reinvigoration before I go on o the market place." A bit later he stands up and walks over to the quest board. "Two out of three quests include the Ziegfrieds? That damn mages have to get involved in everything, haven't they? All right, I'll sign up for quest #13 and #15. Finding some jewel should be tolerable, but I certainly don't want to get too involved in their family matters." He writes his name down and then sits down again, drinking his beer and resting. Quote

My, my, my, it would appear that I've received more items in this Hall then I did in the Arena!" "Before I head to the market, are you sure you wouldn't rather sell it yourself?" Quote
JimBee Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 "Before I head to the market, are you sure you wouldn't rather sell it yourself?" Yes, I'm quite sure. I feel that you after all has been said and done, you gave up a lot on that quest too, so you deserve this. Quote

Khorne Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Eric stepped into the great hall of Heroica once more. It had been ages since his last visit and the number of heroes had all but risen during his absence. Eric felt as if he had been gone for months. His throat was thirsty and his stomach empty. He longed for food and drink. He stepped towards the bar and sat on a stool. The Nord ordered a meal and two beers to go with it. As he waited for his order, he scanned the Hall. He smirked, "Seems like me and Haldor are still the only Nords to grace this place with our presence. Doesn't really surprise me, though. We don't need Heroica to prove our ability." It itched Eric that he had been reduced to a mere pawn of foreign employers. They gave out there orders and the Heroes had to follow them. The pay was good and some nice loot came along the way, too. Sometimes. Nothing compared to what the Norse gained from raiding others, though. The fights had been okay, so far. Eric was able to prove himself on multiple occasions. He had shown his worth to the others, cocky and arrogant as he is. Still, the lack of individual initiative bothered Eric. He had been the son of a chieftain and now he was nothing. Eric the Hero. The name rang in his ears and turned his face sour. He was no Hero. He was a realist, this was nothing but a means to a purpose. Scheherazade brought Eric's meal. He downed the first of his beers immediatly. Suddenly his throat started to itch and he started up coughing some blood. His hand reached for his throat. As he stared at his hand, he saw a bit of blood. His neck was wounded, no doubt by some adversary in the Arena. Even though the wound seemed to be healed, this was only superficial. "You alright, Nord?" the Orcish bartender asked. "I'm fine, leave me be. Please." Eric replied bluntly. He voice was coarse and gruff. His vocal cords seemed to have suffered from the blow. Biting through the pain, Eric ate his meal. He needed the food. As he drank his beer, someone tapped on his shoulder. Eric turned around, somewhat angry. He hated to be disturbed during his meal. "What?" he said. By the way, Eric, since the Phoenix Essence you used on me was pretty much wasted, do you want mine? "No, I'm fine. Thanks anyway." The reply was short and to the point. Eric turned about and finished his food. The last battle in the Arena stung. He had revived the Ranger instead of fighting and he hated it. The "boss battle" and he missed it. The Ranger's offer was kind, but the gods wanted it this way. The Norse need to stick together, help their own kind. After all they were forced North by Southerners, so why should they help each other out? As Eric finished his meal, he got up and headed straight to the Quest Board and read the messages posted there. He laughed silently as he read about the pirates. "Oh please, you've got to be kidding me? Little Southerner wants to play pirate? Idiots. Probably a bunch of idiots with eyepatches and parrots. They are nothing compared to the great Vikings of the North!" Eric put his name down for Quest #15: Hoisting Down the Jolly Roger. After some thought, he put his name down for Quest #13: The Darkstar. You never know, someone might need the expertise of the Barbarian to find this "Darkstar". With that, he left the Hall. Quote
Sisco Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Jess walked up to the questboard after her time at the marketplace. Seeing two quests she was interested in, she signed her name to quests 13 and 15. Jess then decides to do a little more in the marketplace. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Cronk feel refreshed now. Cronk go look at new quests. Hmm. Cronk want help mage's Gram-Gram. Cronk sign up for Quest 14. Cronk also think Cronk would enjoy bashing pirates. Cronk also sign up for Quest 15. Quote
Chromeknight Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Nerwen returned from her weekly meditation to a busy hall. She had never seen so many heroes at one time, and she knew there were still four quests out in the field. Among the new faces she spotted another elf, clearly a rogue, another orc and an apelike creature. Perhaps he was a metasimian, she had heard of such people but never seen them. There were also new names beneath the quests on the board. The fact that she was the only cleric on each list must be good for her chances. Similarly, Sarick, the naga she had met was the only mage. Sarick... where was he? Spotting the serpentine figure through the crowd, Nerwen crossed the hall, to be brought up short. The naga was no longer wearing a human face, His visage was reptilian, alien, but clearly his. It radiated a cold intensity that Nerwen had felt in his words when they spoke last. Greetings Sarick. How fare you? It has been a little while since we spoke... I see you are the only mage signed up for quests thirteen and fourteen. Perhaps that means we will be questing together. Taking her customary water from the passing tray of Sheherazade, she turned back to the naga mage. Quote
Xarrzan Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Greetings Sarick. How fare you? It has been a little while since we spoke... I see you are the only mage signed up for quests thirteen and fourteen. Perhaps that means we will be questing together. Taking her customary water from the passing tray of Sheherazade, she turned back to the naga mage. Sarick turned to address Nerwen. "Greetingsss Nerwen. Thingsss have been progressing well. I was able to meet with En Sabah Nur who assisted me in returning me to my true visage. I noticed that you are the only cleric and I am the only mage signed up for the two questsss as well. It would be exciting to quest with you. I have spent much time exploring the city, since we last spoke. Specifically the Triad Park. If I am not on the list for the thirteenth quest then I plan to visit the Hanging Gardens. Have you explored much of the city?" Quote
Jebediahs Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Elphaba smiles at the mage wryly. "Sorry, I don't do trades. You should be happy with what you've got, as it can easily be taken away from you. And that was not a threat, just a lesson of life." Perhaps the greenskinned woman was right. It wasn't that he was unappreciative, it's that if earth was the element he was strongest in, water spells were his weakest subject. En Sabah Nur sighed as he walked back to the Hall. Hopefully he could find someone to retrain him in elements he was uncomfortable using. He was a mage after all. Nur entered the Hall and went to the questboard. He signed his name to Quest #13: The Darkstar. The Ziegfrieds would most likely be too preoccupied with restoring their loved one to worry about training a mage who specialized in one spell line. Maybe an associate of the Ziegfrieds would suffice. Quote

If I am not on the list for the thirteenth quest then I plan to visit the Hanging Gardens. Have you explored much of the city?" I have been to various shops, but I do not have a lot of money to spend. I met an old werehound who said something odd to me, but I couldn't understand it. I have been to triad park and to some of the smaller parks around the city, they are havens 'midst the busy city. I have not yet been to the hanging gardens though, nor to the Heroica Library. Who is this En Sabah Nur you speak of? He sounds like a helpful person. How do you know him? I was thinking that if I am not selected for any of the quests I might travel across the sea to Ennon and then up to home. It will nearly be the Festival of Centurus. I imagine that naga do not celebrate the turning of the year? Quote
Scubacarrot Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Among the new heroes Guts saw Sarick and Nerwen talking, there was something different about Sarick, last time he saw the snake-man, as Guts called him, his face looked like a human, back then, Guts thought the face was without expression and cold, but that it might be the way of his people, the face Sarick had now looked unlike a man, and more of a fish, but somehow it looked better on the naga. Guts managed to overhear the last bit of the conversation Sarick and Nerwen were having, he said: "No other mages and clerics among quest 13 and 14? Lucky you, as a 'rogue' I have quite a bit of competition." The man chuckled, he rearranged his face wrappings, the blasted things tended to move a lot, as he did it, a large scar became in sight for a split second. "I hope I get a chance to prove my worth soon" he continued, "I am getting restless from sitting around here, I have dwelled in this city for the last few years, I have no need for exploring." Nerwen had talked about going home. Guts could not go home, the guards would not let him, not that that would be a big problem. But there was also another reason, he could not go home, for his task in Eubric was not complete, not yet. Quote
Chromeknight Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Among the new heroes Guts saw Sarick and Nerwen talking... and... managed to overhear the last bit of the conversation "No other mages and clerics among quest 13 and 14? "I hope I get a chance to prove my worth soon" he continued, "I am getting restless from sitting around here, I have dwelt in this city for the last few years, I have no need for exploring." Seeing the hooded rogue draw closer, Nerwen shifted to include him in the conversation. Yes... she laughed, It seems like every second hero here is a rogue, sometimes even occasionally a rouge, too. I count four rogues recently returned from questing. Not to mention the handful around who have not been on a quest yet. Perhaps someday there will be a rogues only quest! The thought of a band of rogues trying to backstab each other brings another smile to her face. I am not surprised that the shrine of Mercutio is one of the largest in the city. All those rogues praying for help to pick locks and lift purses. Did you ever consider acquiring a shield and becoming a Knight? or a bow and becoming a ranger? Although it does seem the fashion for rangers to wear green. I wonder why that is? She paused for a moment, pondering Perhaps to fill the time we could practice on the target board for throwing items over there. Or if you can find a deck of cards, I believe the ranger named Docken has a deck, we could while away the time playing Alouette. That is, if you're not afraid of losing... A wicked glint is seen in Nerwen's eyes as she lays the challenge down. Quote
