Professor Flitwick Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 "Of course," he replied, nodding, pulling the pile of bladed chain from his pack, and handing it to Thothwick. "And no, I don't believe we've met. I'm Atramor Gibbin. Hm...didn't you go to that Arena place? Heard some crazy crap happened up there." Taking both the invitation to pick up his purchase, and partake in a conversation, Thothwick timidly sat in a seat near the rogue. "Hello, Mr. Gibbon, I'm Thothwick. I've seen you around the hall a few times, but I alas, we've had no extended communication. Until now, of course!" "Yes, I was at the Arena. Well, depends how you define 'at'. I was there at the start, but got knocked out by that Barbarian who tried to start a ruckus with the chap in the vail. Would seem he doesn't like Rogues! I woke up in a cell, and was apparently there for several days, before Mr. Hybros (the short Imp gentleman), Sir Daggerfall (the Knight, with the Golden armour) and myself were rescued by the rest of our party. I've no knowledge as to how the other two ended up there, but I can only assume they too lost in the Arena matches. We all attempted to escape, when we were separated from Mr. Cronk, our party leader. A short while later, we faced a utter scamp by the name of Draco. I can't tell you how it ended, because I was knocked out in the last round of that fight. I awoke later, with the rest of my party, in a field. It would appear I spent the majority of the Quest unconscious!" "When I left these halls for the Arena, I remember you were still here. But when I came back, you were nowhere to be seen. At first I thought you might of left these halls for a less reputable living. My fears were groundless; you've returned, so you must've been on a Quest! What was it like? Anything like your first Quest?" Quote

Seems you've gotten a fair bit of reward though, hmm? No, us rogues are better with a team. The meatshields - er, barbarians, distract them, we cut their purses and their throats from behind! My Quest was pretty good. Saved a kid, stopped a plague, cut down a few werewolves and a cult, and stopped a traitorous old ape...no offense. Not much loot, besides this pretty little thing," he stopped, pulling out his Glass Dagger. "Gonna get some gem fused in it. Like my first Quest? I suppose. Not as much sneaking as I woulda' liked, but that's the way it goes...made a few allies, made a few enemies. And, well, I saw the value of some things besides gold," he adds, as a quiet afterthought, taking a gulp of ale. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Tarn took this moment to cut in. "I was surprised you were set on destroying such valuable merchandise. I had totally misjudged you," the tall Barbarian said softly. Quote

"Saved countless lives from a plague? Fought Werewolves? Defeated a cult? You speak those words with such nonchalance! Oh, and you needn't worry about offending me, Mr. Gibbon. I learned the hard way that not all Metasimian are as kind as Byblos." "I'm glad to hear you;ve enjoyed your experience, Mr. Gibbon! I don't suppose you know what you're going do to when you reach level 15 your roguish career starts to branch out more?" Quote

Been thinking about going into magic or healing. May not be entirely 'roguish', but....well, come on. You ever seen a mage pointing at some guy and having him burst into flames? That'd be damn cool..." Atramor trails off into thought, then shakes his head. "Still, need another Quest or two before I get to that point. Let's hope we get on one, boys, eh?" Quote
Rumble Strike Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Tarn shook his head. "I have struggled through crypts and fought undead monsters, found a kidnapped boy and helped rid the world of a possible plague. I must now go back to my master Rystael, in his monastary in the Titaan mountains and tell him of the things I have seen, what I have learned, and how I have acted. The Valco honorific I carry is his, and I am duty-bound to share my experiences with him. We will mediate on them together and I will come back a wiser person than before." He offered Atramor his hand. Quote

I dare say you won't be out of a quest before too long! Are there any particular factions with whom you'd like the chance to work for? As I aforementioned, the Arcane Arts fascinate me, so either the Ziegfrieds or the Guild of Invasion. Although, any faction would be an honour to work for!" Quote

soccerkid6 Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Coming into the hall, I sit down at the table next to Atramor. And order some food. "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation with Thothwick, I must say I agree about the Guild be rather foolish handing out plagues for the asking. But I would probably work for them again, just to keep them out of trouble. I'm glad you destroyed the plague, any quests you are thinking about signing up for? Quote
CMP Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 (edited) Atramor shrugged at Sir Glorfindel, and decided to go check what Quests we up. Ziegfried...Ziegfried...Bonaparte. Those people...just left and right, executing for piracy and destroying the lifestyles of hundreds...a fisherman on the docks, just nothing but fish, taken, tried, executed, for no just reason...still....it was all behind him, wasn't it? He couldn't let this stop him from doing anything. He was a Hero now, and had to get over it at some point, one way or another. So why not on this Quest? Taking a deep breath, he picked up the quill, which seemed heavier than ever and scrawled a particularly untidy signature under Quest 15. Edited November 10, 2011 by CallMePieOrDie Quote

Bioniclover Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 (edited) Gorg looks at the Questboard. It seems that many diferent people are ready to go with him on his own adventure. "Gorg strong, but Gorg happy that he can coun't on new friends!"- He smiled and looked around for Knifk. Knifk wakes up from his nap and walks over to his friend from the Brokenchin clan. "Hello Gorg, how are you? I appear to have dozed off for a moment there." (OOC: Truth be told, I was busy w/ IRL crap.) "I too hope to join you in Questing to find the gem that the mage-house is searching for," he bellowed in Orcish. (Despite his unusual proficiency in Common, he was even more fluent in the harsh language of Baltarok.) He banged his large morning star against his shield and gave a guttural yell, then pulled one of the dragon fangs lining his 'slasher-basher' down his arm, producing a shallow cut almost 3 inches long, a barbaric Orcish ritual for the god Tarok often performed in anticipation for a battle. "May your enemies tremble before you, Gorg of the noble clan of Brokenchin! Taroks blessing upon you, for we shall return in victory or upon the shields of our comrades! That is, assuming we get picked, or course." Edited November 11, 2011 by Bioniclover Quote
Chromeknight Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 The barbarian with lovely hair left the hall. He had clearly been quest-mates with the piratical looking chap accompanied by the chicken. Nerwen thought it an odd pet to keep. But then again, chickens were odd animals and took strange fancies. The pirate, clearly roguish had been doing business with a metasimian, dressed in a natty black ensemble. Likely another rogue, though in his case, perhaps a rouge too. Despite having lived for much longer than any of them were likely to have, Nerwen felt a little intimidated and shy about approaching them. In this place one was measured by an intangible metaphysical constant of 'level', a way of keeping track of how many enemies one had defeated on quests. Since she was yet to be selected for a quest, she was still new and she ached for the thrill of adventure with companions from the hall. She guessed it would be similar to the hunting parties she explored with when she was living at home with family. Despite not having meditated on them recently to bring back the memory, it was still fresh and clear in her mind, a treasured possession of personal history. Clever Lenwë, Forthright Alassë and her friend Tathar, Maeglin who was stout and true and Valandil the tall. Without intending, Nerwen slipped into a light trance, reflecting on the times they had spent together and the bonds they had forged though struggle. An image of a darkly shining purple gem startled her out of the state. Nerwen pondered the flash of vision. Premonition? Warning? or something else? Foresight was a tease and one could not live one's life by it. She arched her back, easing the tension. Perhaps she ought to try some of the hall's beer, others were obviously enjoying it, she might as well join them. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Guts watched Nerwen as her eyes were rolling in her eyesockets, creepy magic-users he thought by himself. Before Nerwen could order some order the beer she wanted, Guts stopped her and said: "Be careful with that, this city's local beer is brewed with water directly from Eubric's canals, if you have seen those, you know where I am going with this. It can make you pretty sick if you are not used to it. Today ends the signing up period for a quest, we need to be on our best!" Quote
Chromeknight Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 After Nerwen had stepped to the bar and asked for a beer, the hooded rogue lent over and said.. Fred Daniel Yam Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Coming back into the Hall, William immediately signs up for Quest 15. He joins Atramor by the bar. "At least the Guild could have paid us more for all that trouble." Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 (edited) "But it's time! Gorg don't like waiting"- Shouted Gorg waving arms nervously and knocking down a picture behind him. "Gorg hopes that we will go together, Gorg don't like to be with non orcs.... Come, let's drink! Maybe this will cut some time for us" He grabbed Knifk and pulled him to the bar. Darth Nihilus Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Dak returned from his travels across the city, head hung low, an air of dejection swirling aroound him like a storm. He glumly sat down at the bar between Gorg and a strange, rough-looking fellow with a chicken sitting on his head. Dak orders a wine, and notices Nerwyn talking to Guts. He looks around the Hall and sees that everyone is talking to someone else. He feels like an outsider in his new home. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 A tall, haughty looking woman strode into the Hall and examined the Quest Board. The signups for Quest#13 were shown, and she waved her hand to select 6 participants, the names rising to to top of the list whilst the others slowly disappeared. The chosen party was: 1 Guts Holla, Level 1 Rogue (Scubacarrot) 2 Sarick Lanse, Level 1 Mage (Xarrzan) 3 Dak Nikolus, Level 1 Rogue (darthnilius) 4 Nerwen Calmcacil, Level 1 Cleric (Chromeknight) **Party Leader** 5 Fenimor Vish, Level 1 Barbarian (Jorgevorg) 6 Knifk, Level 1 Knight (bioniclover) OOC: I was mindful that we have recently had an influx of newbies who have been quite diligent in posting and created some intriguing characters already. I thought I then may as well go for a full complement of level ones as it would make my first Quest easier to QM. I also wanted a good mix of archetypes but Rogues were incredibly well represented in the signups so there are two of them. I hope all those experienced Heroes who signed up will understand this. If those 6 chosen can confirm in this thread, I will look at getting up the Quest thread on Saturday. Thanks for your interest. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Seeing some activity by the quest board, I get up and take a look. All rookies on this quest! Well that should make for a interesting adventure. But I'm sure they will do fine, I think to myself as I head back to my table Quote
Scubacarrot Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Guts watched the woman as she wrote the names of the chosen heroes on the board, after she went away, he looked and was happy to see his name on the list. Nerwen was appointed leader for the group, a good choice guts thought. The rogue with the veiled face ordered a bottle of wine, this called for celebration! Quote
Jebediahs Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 En Sabah Nur gave a quick disdainful look at the latest quest party selection. He was hoping to learn more about magic from an associate of the Ziegfrieds without having to approach the illustrious family directly. Nur wasn't too upset as he had a side mission he was preparing for. He had heard of a the merchant Gurnam's unique services from the recent questers returned to the Hall. The idea of Sangriste being poisoned indefinately greatly appealed to the mage. But the service he was most interested in was the land-shark's ability to "take care" individuals. There was a certain barbarian Nur wanted out of the way. The mage left the Hall in search of the sharkling's shop. Still new to the city, En Sabah Nur hoped he wouldn't get lost along the way. Quote
