Dak, hearing someone coming in and walking to the Questboard, slowly gets up and walks dejectedly over, sure that he will not be picked. He looks up, and gasps in suprise. He had been picked, and all of his friends were to go with him! His sadness completely drained from him, he pumps his fist in the air and runs upstairs to retrieve his gear. Passing Nerwyn and Guts on the way, he shouts at them,"We got picked! Get your gear, we're goin' on a Quest! :sweet: "

As Knifk was dragged along to the bar by Gorg, he noticed a human woman walking into the hall with a sheet of paper. He examined it and found his name on it. He gave a roar of approval, then dragged Gorg to their original destination twice as fast as they had been going previously. "A BOTTLE OF MEAD FOR GORG AND ME, SCHEHEREZADE, FOR TONIGHT (or maybe the day after) i SPILL THE BLOOD OF MY ENEMIES!" he bellows in his native tongue. He feels sorry for his friend, but is to caught up in the moment to realize that while he would be Questing, Gorg would be waiting at the Hall. Hopefully his new friend would be picked for a Quest soon, though.

*For those of you who haven't figured it out, if Knifk isn't referring to himself in the third person and his text is in the color #A0522D and the font Comic Sans MS, he's speaking Orcish. If he is referring to himself in the third person and his speech text is normal, he's speaking Common.

Thothwick look crestfallen at the list of accepted heroes, and conversed with himself inside his head. "A darn shame I couldn't get in, though it is nice to see several new heroes go out and quest together. It's good that they all get to start on the same foot."

Thothwick looked at the remaining quests, with one Ziegfried quest left over...

Quest #14: The Family Recipe

Quest Master: Sandy

Assignment: “Thanks to the help of your organization, we found our beloved matriarch Zelda in time, but she has not regained consciousness yet. We have tried everything we’ve got, except this one recipe we found from the Grand Wizardine’s belongings. We request your aid in collecting the ingredients listen in the recipe so that our matriarch could make full recovery.” ~General Sourceress Beth of the Magistrous House of Ziegfried

Party requirements: “We would like to hire four resourceful heroes, especially clerics and mages.”

Reward: A level of experience to each participant and 1000 gold to share, with improved reputation among the Ziegfrieds

Sign-ups will close on Sunday 20th of November.

"Hmm... I suppose it doesn't say only Clerics and Mages. Well, only one way to find out!" Thothwick signs up for Quest #14: The Family Recipe.

Henry sees his friend has signed up for quest #14 and approaches him: "I believe they will take rogues alright, Thotwick. But I'd never work for a bunch of mages!

On the other hand, you have to know your enemy, right? And the money...1000 gold. And I've already spent all my gold at the marketplace..." He thinks a bit about it, and finally comes to a decision: He walks to the questboard and writes his name under quest #14. While he turns his back on the questboard, he says: "Yes, I've got to know my enemy, but yet I hope, I won't be taken," not addressing anyone special, but rather trying to convince himself.

"Should I press the matter? Seems to be a rather touchy topic, hm...

"Ah, good to see you, Mr. Sicariul! I do hope they take Rogues; be rather unfair for to Mages just to take other Mages."

"Mr. Sicariul, I couldn't help but overhear... what exactly have the Ziegfrieds done to offend you?"

"Mr. Sicariul, I couldn't help but overhear... what exactly have the Ziegfrieds done to offend you?"

"Not to mention a party of only mages and clerics would certainly have certain weaknesses."

"And I have no problem with the Ziegfrieds themselves, I never had any business with them, as I'm always trying to keep away from them mages. It's mages in general I dislike, due to the reason I mentioned earlier, my past with a certain mage causing the death of both my parents without them having any chance of defeating him. It's just not fair, killing by magic. And unnatural too. And I hate mages in general. And believe me, Lady Wren constantly using magic to take our health away didn't do any help about that matter."

Fenimor Vish was delighted to see the well-cushioned woman put an unreasonable amount of effort in making her mundane act of selection into a small spectacle of the Arcane. He dutifully stretched his face into a gummy, toothy expression some might refer to as a "smile", and quickly performed the Lambada of Initial Approval, which expressed his mood in exactly 8 ways, as was customary in polite and educated circles. In the interest of time he opted to skipp a few steps and was hoping that nobody noticed.

"True, though we can only hope they pick Rogues to try and balance out the team."

"Oh... you poor lad. You must feel quite uneasy, sharing this Hall with so many Mages. But, is it really justifiable to hate all Mages, just because of the destructive actions of one. Although, I do agree that some of their styles can seem impersonal and ungentlemanly, such as Lady Wren attacking us from rooms away."

"Yeah, I wasn't told there would also be mages at Heroica when I signed up. And even if I was, I never would have imagined there's so many of them. Well, I'm a person that prefers close combat, as was my Dad. I can live with throwing and shooting weapons, I even use some when necessary. But magic, well, it's just...strange, hurting or killing someone out of distance just mumbling a spell with some gem. The ones here at Heroica at least aren't as megalomaniac as the one my father encountered, but it's still...scary, and every time I see a mage doing a spell I feel reminded of my parent's death. And then comes the hatred for them...and paired with my homicidal nature, I tell you, that's a very unhealthy state of mind."

Gorg wasn't sad. Gorg was mad.

"Why strong orc like Gorg was not invited?!" he roared and took a great sip of mead.

"But Gorg is happy at least Knifk going"-he smiled to Knifk and hit his arm friendly."Weak 'humens' don't need to be afraid now!"-he said laughing loudly. Good luck on your quest brotha' , Lok'tar ogar!.

A tall, haughty looking woman strode into the Hall and examined the Quest Board. The signups for Quest#13 were shown, and she waved her hand to select 6 participants, the names rising to to top of the list whilst the others slowly disappeared.

Guts Holla, Level 1 Rogue (Scubacarrot)

Sarick Lanse, Level 1 Mage (Xarrzan)

Dak Nikolus, Level 1 Rogue (darthnilius)

Nerwen Calmcacil, Level 1 Cleric (Chromeknight) **Party Leader**

Fenimor Vish, Level 1 Barbarian (Jorgevorg)

Knifk, Level 1 Knight (bioniclover)

If those 6 chosen can confirm in this thread, I will look at getting up the Quest thread on Saturday.

Thanks for your interest.

The image of the purplish stone interrupted Nerwen's day of planned meditation. In mild frustration and a slight haze she made her way back to the hall.

As she walked past the questboard she saw that the list of names under quest #13 had been changed to indicate who was to quest.

She was surprised that she had been given the job of leading the quest, but understood that as a cleric she would often be standing back from the fights, and so better able to direct their flow.

She looked again at the list, and around at the hall. She could see Knifk at the bar, with Gorg and felt a little sad the other Orc would not be joining them.

Guts and Dak she could see and knew had spoken with them, though she wondered how Guts would cope, being the only human in the party. Especially with the fishman, whose name on the board had been transmuted from the odd symbol he had used to a name in common, Fenimor Vish. Nerwen rolled the name around on her tongue a few times, getting used to its odd cadence. As if drawn by her non-vocal musings, she turned to see the gummy-warrior looking in her direction. Only the Naga, Sarick was not to be seen. Nerwen wondered where he was.

Moving across the hall to Guts and the orcs she said.

Greetings. Gorg I'm sorry you weren't chosen to come with us, I'm sure you will get to quest soon. Guts, Knifk, I'm looking forward to adventuring with you.

Have you got everything from the marketplace you would like?

And have you seen Sarick around? We only need him to get started.

I believe I will have a wine, while we wait , as you suggest master rogue.

Knifk scoffs. "All Knifk needs is slasher basher and shield. Knifk will save his shiny Gold for himself."

Sarick slithered into the hall with hast. He hoped he did not miss anything. Sarick checked the quest board and saw his name. He was the only mage on a quest of magic. This might challenge his magical skills, but he was up to the challenge. Sarick would prove to the Priestess that he had made the correct choice. He would not be a cleric raining down blessings and soothing the pain of others. He would be a successful mage, dealing destruction to his foes and protecting his allies. Sarick was ready.

//You should have been given a potion as well as a mead when you joined Heroica. Do not forget to pick it up before we go!//

The pescetine Barbarian takes his time to rotate and arrange various segments of his body to properly face Nerwen and, then, speaks to her in a voice reminiscent of a bucket of rusty nails scratching a pane of stained glass, as it is the only way to correctly express oneself in "Koshmar", the blood-curdling tongue of the horrible Cho-Cho people:

I do indeed posses the foul-smelling libation. You should also know that I have additionally purchased two bottles of what smells definitively like unicorn squeezings but is supposed to be some sort of 'Healing Potion'.

Fenimor Vish digs within his travelling sack and pulls out two small, conical bottles, filled with green, viscous liquid. He shows them to Nerwen and waits for her to complete the ritual of found object display.

Gorg walked away from the bar, he looked at the Quests. One of the quest mentioned Clerics and Mages... But this not stoped him to sign for a Quest #14. "Maybe this time I will have some more luck"-he said under his breath.

Maurice returned from the Temple of Ennoc where he had gone to pray and thank the Righteous Light for his blessing. Now he walked up to the Quest board and put up the parchment as High Priestess Alisameth had instructed him. The Order needed heroes from Heroica for a mission of great importance:

Quest #16: The Paladin Conquest

Quest Master: Etzel

Assignment: The Paladin Order requires assistance from Heroica. Our sanctuary in the village of Tanco on the island of Moone is threatened by evil forces. The 1st Battalion of Ligth and Justice still holds it but the losses have been bigger then expected. The heroes from Heroica will be sent as reinforcements to help the battalion defend the village and the sanctuary against the forthcoming attack.

Party Requirements: A team of 5 heroes that are willing to fight for justice in the name of Ennoc, the Righteous Light, especially Knights and Clerics.

Reward: A symbolic sum of 250 gold to split and a holy bomb for each hero. But there will be lots of loot for those who fight well.

Sign-ups will close on Monday the 21st of November.

To bad Maurice himself couldn't assist in this matter. He really felt that this quest would have suited him perfect but Alisameth had been very clear on this point. "Your time will come Maurice. One day you will return to our true home but it's a long road and you must learn to trust Ennoc with all your heart before it's time."

Maurice cast an eye on the sing ups for the Bonaparte quest and was pleased to see that so many experienced heroes had proclaimed their interest, and he was even more pleased to see that he was the only cleric so far. That would increase his chances of being picked for the quest he hoped.
